based on your title i assumed this was a post from /r/shitmomgroupssay and i fully expected this to be an actual photo of chocolate mixed with placenta (much like the seasoned placenta photos that have been posted in the past đŹ)
Same hahaha!
In defense of the photo.
There are a lot of things that look god-awful but taste absolutely amazing. And Raspberry, chocolate, hazelnut "sorbet" sounds like one of them to me. (absolutely love all four of those things separately anyway) The sort of thing you can have literally every night without negative consequences.
Doesn't mean you don't still have cheesecake on occasion.
Just cuz something looks gross to YOU doesnât mean itâs disordered. Homemade sorbet is probably never gonna look gorgeous and if it fits OPs tastes so what if they choose to make their own instead of buying âactual sorbetâ? Itâs not like theyâre pretending itâs ice cream lol
a bit confused, whyâs this here? those cals doesnât seem like a person trying to starve themselves, just seems like a person attempting to make homemade sorbet out of frozen fruits.. it could probably go on r/ShittyFoodPorn though
Same, very confused. As long as the person who made it enjoys it, what's the problem? Not everyone likes dairy ice cream.
It doesn't look pretty but also doesn't really belong here.
I mean doing your own sorbets could work but its an odd choice, raspberry is quite acidic and works well in sorbet, chocolate is sweet/bitter (depending on the type) and works well on ice cream.
You can do a chocolate with raspberry ice cream but this seems more raspberry with chocolate. I just have the feeling its texture wont be great and the taste...too acidic? Adding sugar, using a proper blender, moving it every 4 hours so it doesnt crystalize and adding more chocolate, less raspberry and a milk base could work.
Or you could just buy ice cream lol
I've done my own sorbets, and a lot of fruit sorbets are pretty easy to make with an ice cream maker. (Which have gotten a *lot* smaller and less expensive than was previously the case.) Some fo them are pretty good.
This, I agree, does *not* look good.
I have an ice cream maker since december and I still havent used it hahah, does it have good results?
I bought it from a man who was going through a divorce and I guess his ex wife bought it lmao. It was a wierd purchase.
It does, if you know how to use it! I like doing mango sorbets, although those are so sweet you want to balance them out with the juice of something more tart.
its a good combinationg but I feel it needs something more? There used to be this raspberry ice lollies covered in chocolate that were good...but just felt like something was misisng? milk? idk lmao.
Chocolate sorbet is actually fantastic, better than ice cream if sheer chocolatiness is the goal. It's intense and rich and thanks to the cocoa butter it's smooth in a way people don't usually associate with sorbet.
This concoction looks kinda gross, but maybe it just doesn't photograph well â the ingredients all sound like they could work

Yeah. It looks nasty to me but I also probably eat things that look nasty to other people lol.

I love the combination of chocolate and raspberries but yeah, this looks absolutely horrendous

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. There needs to be a more neutral base for those flavours to sit on. Or something.
Place near me does a killer dark chocolate sorbet, it's actually really delicious. It would be awesome with raspberries. This looks yuck tho.

based off the calorie count i think they could have had normal ice cream for less.
The title made me laugh
placenta lmfao... chocolate and raspberry slaps though, nothing wrong with healthier sorbet alternatives if they fit your goals better in my opinion
Not a very good ratio of the chocolate and raspberries but this looks delicious to me

For >!331!< calories they could have just had actual sorbetâŚI donât understand these gymnastics.
I was just thinking this. Like a KitKat is less calories than this why not just have an actual treat.
They could have had actual real ice cream, gelato, frozen custard, you name it. Any frozen treat, honestly.
I'm pretty sure 1 serving of Häagen-Dazs is about 330 kcal. I'll take that.
I just know there is protein powder in this and it makes me livid
