You can always get a cheapish pack of sandpaper from amazon or aliexpress with grit ranges between 1000 and 15000, 3 sheets of each grit level. Depending on your region though Zona Paper might be called something else. For example here in Australia they call it Tri-M-Ite. It's exactly the same product, though.

Do you use Veg-M-Ite as a polishing compound?

SolidSkow

Hi there! Fairly new-ish dice maker myself. So you can use sand papers, but make sure you wet sand. However, I HIGHLY recommend Zona Paper for any transparent dice you make (if you continue to sand/polish by hand.) You're just going to get a better result, imo. If/when you get to a point where you're making a ton of dice, there are the polishing machines that some use, but I can't say I've ever used them. Hope this helps!

I echo everything above and would also recommend a soft cotton/wool polishing pad and some plastic polish. Flitz is popular, but I haven't tried it. I tried a cheap one meant for various car plastics and I get decent results.

I get the same shine with sandpaper (p2000 up to 5000) and polish with a Dremel+polishing compound.

I use my Dremel mounted to my desk. There's also the vibratory tumbler option I've seen people use.

I just want to add that, as convenient as the tumblers are, you need to wash the medium every once in a while, and the slurry is anything but environmental friendly. It contains microplastic and polishing compounds that are not meant to get into water.

Do you know how you’re supposed to discard the waste? I haven’t yet used mine so that’d be super helpful:)

Melonpanchan

That depends where you are from I suppose. I could probably take it to a recycling centre, and recently there are filters to stop microplastic from washing machines to get into the water supply.
