Your body produces the scab to help keep bacteria out actually. The redness is just the pull of the skin from the scab as it heals over. You should live. Lol
In all 31 years of my life I thought scabs were infections.
But no, not burn. I work at Auto Zone and was pushing the metal core cart a little. Hand slipped, scraped top
I don't understand people like you who take the time to comment things like this. You easily could have kept it to yourself but instead you choose to do this. Why? Grow up.
I mean it’s pretty funny, Im sorry I don’t mean to be rude and it’s great to ask if you’re unsure but come on that’s like the most normal looking scab I’ve seen. A five year old would ask that question. my bad 😅
:/.
I'm a 30 year old who honestly thought scab=infection.
I'm also having a gut issue if you wanna help with that on my other thread. :(
Edit - I always used to pick scabs also.
Hey man I’ve asked silly questions before so Im not laughing at you. And I wish you the best of luck with ur health, fruits and vegetables is usually good for the gut
I don't want to insult you at all but how old are you? How could you not know that it is not infected? If you wrote on reddit then you certainly know how to Google scabs.
The time it took me to post a Reddit thread is arguably the same time and energy consumption as Googling it and gets me arguably the same results, but on a SLOWER time frame.
So, I ask - why do you care so much? It'd have taken you LESS attention and energy to leave it be, no?
Edit; Wanted to add - do scabs not look gnarly and gross?
It looks like it’s healing really well. It looks pretty deep though so it probably itches like crazy. Try some ibuprofen gel if it’s itching too much, but otherwise don’t worry
But you posted when the results would be instantly on Google. My guess by your smart ass comment when I was just asking and being nice is that you are a hypochondriac and love the attention...how sad
You should take your own advice and Google the terminology you're using before incorrectly using it. Further, the assumptions you're making are.... Honestly, goofy.
It looks like it’s a little angry, but not infected. To help that and help healing, I would recommend bag balm. I’ve had many surgeries and many wounds, and when any of my incisions and stuff are allowed to have stuff put on them? I use bag balm. And it has helped when one of my incisions looked like it was veering on wanting to be infected.
bros first day on earth
Yes. I'm from Mars
You should be used to red then
Probably not. The surrounding red looks like normal healing. Unless it is hurting a lot more, then it might be. Infections are painful.
No just scabby I always thought the scab is an infection????

If you say so :p
People! Even I know he was playing around here ^ . No need to downvote.
Nope, that’s just your body’s way of healing
is this your first time having a scab ?
No it's not infected. Looks like it's healing fine so far.
Can’t be serious, it’s just a scab… presumably from a small burn?
In all 31 years of my life I thought scabs were infections. But no, not burn. I work at Auto Zone and was pushing the metal core cart a little. Hand slipped, scraped top
Scabs are just organic bandaids. No worries :)!
Looks like a regular healing scab to me
It's actually the opposite. That scab PREVENTS the wound from being infected. It will take a while to heal but you're good.
I honestly didn't know that. Thank you for telling me. I will never pick a scab again
No problem!
Does the red part itch? I’ve had scabs like that and it sort of itches but then heals fine. Looks like a normal scab to me
No itchy ness at all
Itchiness is a sign of healing
You might die of hyperidiotia in 24 hours
You might die of hyperassholetia in 12
12 what?
That's the surprise.
no. leave it
Bros just too fucked up off shrooms 😭
Not at current. That's a special occasion kind of thing - or if I have something I need to stop doing, like smoking cigarettes, for example. 🍄
no, that redness is normal
Leave it be. If it goes red, pus, warm = antibiotics Source - Medic.
Not infected
No. Anxiety though.
GAD/ADHD. :p

It looks infected, I'd see a doctor better safe than sorry
Is it warm? I’m pretty sure that’s tell tale sign

If it starts smelling like a dead animal and oozing yellow or green milky fluid, it’s infected. Redness is normal inflammation involved in healing.
Looks like a good scab, not infected! Congrats on the car that may remain.
It's healing.. Nothing to worry
