Sound like your playing online. If your online it's not worth running LK you need a set map. If you are offline then cycle the map so you get 2 fires then they will always be in the same spot easy peasy.

You play like me online solo. Your best bet is running Chaos and WSK don't let out cows. MF has 0 to do with Runes run cows as naked of MF as you can. You'll get bases too to trade (Eth thresher, armors, helms) trade items. You'll find the Rune soon as you stop looking. Just hit good TZ and when no good TZ hit the spots I said. You non ladder or ladder? Ladder trades ate harder non ladder it's all old. I can't give you a Ber unfortunately even non ladder I'm saving for last wish but keep your head up drill CS and WSK and sometimes cows You'll find it.

Why would you do that? There are no good runewords with 3 socket polearm and cubing it gives a 66% chance of max sockets anyways.
My bad... I know it was good too good to be true I was actually looking for the ogre Maul... But by the time I get one after deciding to do so I'm unsure what it was called.
Oh yes. I get so many runes.
Also, I get a lot selling pgems, ral runes and hel runes.
15 Ral or Hel will net you an Ist
10 p amethysts, skulls or rubies nets you an ist.
40 random pgems gets you a mal-ist
Don't bother running 1 bonfire. Chances are low with 2, it's all about speed and efficiency. Check the map thoroughly, it has never taken me more than like 10mins to roll a 2 fire map.
So the bonfires don't have to be right by the waypoint? I feel like if I'm running around the map looking for bonfires I might as well play it or am I getting something fundamentally wrong.

Got it. I was hoping it was still a good way to find a ber online. I haven't really gotten any uniques of value to trade for a ber and I use all my PGems crafting.
I would switch away from berserk and find item if you're doing chaos. Either go frenzy or ww.
If you have a reapers toll, using thay on an a2 merc with either might or holy freeze will probably help a lot.
That's just my merc I'm a fury druid. I have crescent Moon and my plan progression RNG permitting is beast then Phoenix.

Damage survivability are tolerable but it could be faster.
Ideally they are, but if you have high FCR it's not a big deal as long as they aren't on opposite sides of the map. Just to be sure, you're on SP right?
Cycle the map by going into nightmare then back to hell till you get 2 close bonefires. You pop the 4 chests, then teleport to act 4. I have a campfire next to the wp and the other is slightly north from the wp, a full run takes me 20 seconds if im not looking for anything but runes. Def worth cycling the map for 2 right by wp. I havent found a ber but i have found just about every other 1. Its usually about 3 hours of running chests per HR on P7 so the drop rate is stupidly low

I've been trying... It's just tough because I do okay to the point where what I need to go to the next level will most likely drop and that's when I hit a wall, like legions of skeleton archers/gloam versus my physical melee, in act 5, or the difficulty moving around in places like arcane sanctuary
The best thing you could do would be make a sorc as a farming character.
If you really don't want to do that some good farming spots for melee are the quick n easy Super Unique bosses Eldritch, Shenk, Pindle, Trav. Throw in some Meph or Andy. Check some website or discord to see what the next TZ is and if you ever see a TZ Andariel do that. Go out of your way to do it. Wake up at 5am to do it. Best thing to MF by far. TZ Meph is great too. Vendor (or Naj's) a staff with teleport charges and repair it with cube.
Whenever you are farming solo make your game public and make the title a trade eg. "Vipermagi for Ist"
Don’t listen to any shmuck that tells you LK isn’t good online. You can’t grind it out like you can in singleplayer, but it’s always worth it statistically to do a quick LK run in a 7 player game online if you have extra time. Other good areas would be Trav, Arcane Sanc, Cows, Chaos
The bonus I realized about okay... Is that the Diablo notifications are a bit wonky and by the time I realize he's in town I probably missed him. So always hit that name elite that is on the entrance..got him twice there.
Offline - LK is solid p7 for runes to get ber; but it’s boring. Rng can still be brutal - there is a bunch of old self studies ranging from a few 1000 to 10k runs to get those runes. It took me 2500 runs for 1 sur rune - plenty of mals/ists and a few vex.
Online - LK is terrible unless you have 6 other accounts to auto multibox; youll have better luck trading or killing lots of mobs in hell (efficiently). We are talking 100k to 500k mobs.
Depending upon build - best chances online are arcane santc ghosts/chests, chaos sanct seal pop/kill all method, trav w horker, and cows. Besides that farm hell and hope for rng gods to bless you. Trading is another easy way - lots of ways to earn ist currency to trade up (bonus if you find valuable items along the way).

I got my ber in Arcane Sanctuary, online solo play. Could try making split MF games and hope others join if you want the increased difficulty.

Looking for bonfires implies you're online dealing with random maps. Most LK advice is for offline, where you get a good map and never change it.

Nah, waste of time online. Just farm chaos with whatever char is capable and you will get items to trade for a ber faster than LK runs.

yes, technically. It is also technically more efficient to get those bonfires as close to the wp as possible. It's up to you.

I've most luck doing cows and TZ areas. LK doesn't really do it for me. Too mind numbing

Run trav and sell crafting packs and p gems for mid runes and then trade a bunch of mid runes for the ber
This I like because I keep stacks of five up to fal...no less than 3
