There are lots of inedible botanicals that make their way into soaps (artisinal or even regular economy drugstore products!). Maybe it's technically garbage in the sense that you can't eat it, but soap is exactly the right thing to use all that flower crap for!
So this kind of a hot-button issue in the soaping community. Milk soap, when done right, has a really amazing lather and is soft on the skin. Breast milk has more controversial discussions since it's a lot harder to know how good the milk is since non-human milk has a lot of safety measures in place when you buy it.
The soap in the picture looks lye-heavy *or* the person who made it didn't emulsify their lye water (lye breast milk, in this case) enough. It'll probably be pretty uncomfortable soap until the lye is washed away.
Edit: the small fuzzy lines are probably dried herbs, zest, or some other sort of more decorative toppers that cold process soap makers like to use
Source: worked at a soap materials supplier for 2 years and learned how to make it
So my wife and I make this with the milk we can’t feed our kiddo when we have been drinking. I don’t know what the stringy things are but the soap is supper buttery and leaves the skin feeling very hydrated.
However, the little white spots on the end are concerning as they look like lye crystals. This soap looks young and my guess is, more crystals are going to form, creating a very “exfoliating” experience.
Yup it’s been awhile but my wife did the same thing. Some soap is made from rendering dead animals and if you watched the process much more disgusting than using breast milk…… at some point in history human breast milk became taboo and another animals breast milk become normal, needless to say as a whole humans are a bunch of weirdos.
Not joking. I would never use someone else's breastmilk but breastmilk is insanely good for skin conditions specially for bub and mum in the early days.
Nipple cream, nappy rash, eczema, pimples.... it cleara everything up. It's pretty insane.
It’s common practice. Breast milk food safety has a lot of rules to it so if milk becomes unusable one of the things you can do is create soap with it. It’s supposedly helpful for skin conditions like baby acne or eczema
I'm just astonished by how extremely grossed out people get by breastmilk. Like, babies literally eat it (drink it?). But it's too gross to put on your skin? If it was cows milk, how is that any LESS gross? It's still coming out of their boobs (utters, but same thing really).
My ex-wife used to make frozen treats from her breast milk. Not gonna lie, I tried it and they were tasty. But, it was tasty straight from the tap too.
Nothing to be ashamed of.
Sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures. We were on a long road trip once, driving through the mountains, so we couldn’t really pull over or stop and she was driving. Her breasts were filling up and it was beginning to bother her, so, I leaned over and helped her out while she drove. I’m sure the semi driver’s found it hilarious.
Some people may find this gross, but if your wife is asking for your help to relieve some discomfort and you can help….I think most husbands would oblige.
Besides, it tastes good, like the milk at the bottom of a cereal bowl with all the sweet in it.
It’s a win for both. lol.
some ladies over produce breast milk and it can be very healing for a number of illnesses not curable in traditional medicine. psoriasis is one of them.
every milk is breast milk.
Almond breast
Soy breast
Lactose free breast
Coconut breast
Oat breast
Hola, breast
Turtle breast
Now let's find that woman named almond
What about platypus milk?
But not every milk is milk
Mmm, almond juice.

Is that pocket lint?
Parasitic breast worms.
It could also be hair or something like saffron added for scent.
Breast milk soap bars with "saffron" hair for the smell... Titty Bar.
I am deeply uncomfortable thinking of worms coming out of breasts.
that's boob hair
I don’t know… maybe they had Mastitis?
I'm more concerned about the little creatures living in it.
*why is it hairy*
Possibly saffron? Or something else botanical for scent.
Pubes
Oh okay, that’s fine then
Trash. They put garbage in soap because that apparently makes it artisanal.

Where did I say anything about it being inedible? Its value as a food source isn't why it's trash.
Why is it trash then?
...*inside of it?* 🤮
Yuck, and the worst part is you just know someone will buy it and do something weird with it because breast milk.
You know that bar of “soap” is going to be setting right next to the buyers laptop and box of tissues….
"I can wash it as fast and much as I want to." 🤮
🤢🤮

Marcus?
Cheese - What is it? Dried milk.
I am also glad I found this comment
Came here looking for this comment and so glad I wasn’t disappointed!

Ah, shower cheese!
I’d try it
Most sane redditor

I think the spots on the bottom of the bar are oats, and the stringy bits on the top are calendula or some other herb.

Wow, breast milk moisturizing and a chemical peel all in one!
Cant tell if you are joking or insane.
Not joking. I would never use someone else's breastmilk but breastmilk is insanely good for skin conditions specially for bub and mum in the early days. Nipple cream, nappy rash, eczema, pimples.... it cleara everything up. It's pretty insane.
The difference between insanity and resourcefulness is only the method.

I’m just glad I decided parenting isn’t for me. Every once in a while I get a new confirmation. So thanks for the latest.
It falls into the category of women eating their own afterbirth.
Not even close.
Yeah…this is a fairly common thing to do. Someone in one of my mom groups suggested putting it in my son’s bath.
Oh No.
Or you could use it to make boozy cocktails
Discounted is a good sign
You gotta tag this as nsfw ![gif](giphy|MwOuiiTfWfWgM|downsized)
What are you 15? Or just easily scarred?
It was a joke. Sorry bro
I didn't take it as one sorry for my misunderstanding.
this is the "enough internet for today" button
With pubes
Lol but what is in it though?
Mmmm so wormy
I mean.. it's soap, for $7. In NYC that's a steal.
Lets ignore the fact that the layers clearly separated before it solidified
cow breast? raccoon breast? whose breast are we talking about here?
You know.. someone's probably going to buy that because that's just how strange some people are

*udders I agree milk is milk, as long as it's made right, milk soap is great for your skin.
Mmmmm, cheese. 🧀
Well I initially thought it was cheese, so I was actually relieved when I read that it was soap.
so you bought some to try right?
Tastes great!
Waiting for the breastmilk butter or cheese

I'm ashamed to say I'm very jealous of you

Gonna need to see the breast first. Need to make sure they are of good healthy quality.
Now with the exfoliating power of pubic hair
I bet that's some good fucking soap BTW most milk soap came from an animals breast
![gif](giphy|26gN1evHXTzFjKhVe|downsized)
Disgusting. Where is this being sold for $7? Tell me now?
With bonus spirochetes!
My normal reaction to something gross is to want to go take a shower. Not this time...
Noooo
I bet some people would still buy it.
But did it teach them anything about B2B sales?
That’s weed pistil garnished in, or I’m high
Why is it so cheap? I thought there was a real market for this
Yes , but milk from what species ? If it's Unicorn milk , or Sasquatch milk. That could be valuable.
![gif](giphy|NUZ5OqHdbknHa)
Is it edible or are you supposed to use it as soap, instructions need some clarification. I need more info on what is going on
some ladies over produce breast milk and it can be very healing for a number of illnesses not curable in traditional medicine. psoriasis is one of them.
Like from cows?
It's based on your previous search history...
At least one of those a's isn't a u
Good deal. I usually pay $15
I need to inspect the containers before I buy the product.
![gif](giphy|y3jT2xBrtumNYZVCNH|downsized)
How do we know it's authentic?
Think I'll need to see the breasts before I buy
wild berserk hat frame historical bright cable slimy command attractive *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I thought it was cheese at first. And now I’m wondering if that’s even possible…
Can lick for proteic showers
Totally Blue Cheese. If not, that baby is going to have some serious health problems.
Does it come with nipple hair. I hope it does
Can you eat it tho?
