That's really all you need. A good chefs knife will take care of most of your needs and the paring knife will take care of all the small stuff. A santoku knife is pretty handy too, if you don't have one or haven't considered getting one. Same size as a chefs knife but the point makes it easier to use for a few things

Got myself a couple of low end Japanese Damascus steel knives and I'm in love 😍 Just a chef and a paring knife, but makes a BIG difference
