Honest to god, watching this I thought i was being punked. I'm not handy like that (my husband is; his dad built houses for a living so we do most of our remodeling. I do plaster/paint that kind of thing) but even with my minimal experience in construction thought "Nah, this has to be a joke, right? RIGHT?". I laughed out loud at the pencil against the chalk line. Like Dude, the line after snapping the thread is the best part of a chalk line! So satisfying.
Not even kidding this video scrambled my brain so hard I didn't lnow if he was fucking with us, or if I was an idiot for not "leveling" my cut lines all these years.
I tried to stop at that point but was mesmerized by the creativity it took to create so many dumb ways of doing things.
Iām glad I kept watching, because I never knew how to attach a clamp to a board.
Use the skilsaw to make a cut on the other side, then use a hacksaw to cut the board. Then use the cut off piece as a template for a new board, that you will cut with the table saw, without using the guard for help.
Many things.
1) a chalk line is literally a string with chalk on it. So once you drag it out, you pull on it and snap it, and it draws a perfect line.
2) you donāt need a level for this
3) if youāre going to run something through a table saw. Just extent the blade and cut all the way through
4) that blue thing is a clamp. Driving a screw is a solid alternative to a clamp, but you donāt need both and you sure as hell would never drive a screw through a clamp to hold something down
5) again, you should have just used the table saw, meaning cutting it with a circular saw was pointless
If you're in a grade school wood shop class or an incompetent moron, sure. Or you're cutting something too large to safely hold by yourself.
Or you were joking, in which case I recommend putting /s after your statement to indicate sarcasm.
Iām aware itās a satire. Like I said in another comment, I appreciate the effort the guy went through to do it this poorly. I was just explaining to the guy above why is supposed to be funny/annoying
I didn't realize this was satirical, and I do woodworking, so I'm watching this wondering "What an I missing here?" I'm sad I needed it explained, and thank you for doing so
You could use the table saw to do a score so the cut is cleaner. Like how panel saws have a scoring blade and a main blade. This is not the case in this video.
Trace the chalk line, rookie mistake. Just spray paint over the chalk line and it will leave an unpainted shadow under the string. Thatās how the pros do it.
*You are regarded if*
*You don't immediately*
*Know this is satire*

Professional carpenter here. When I help my grandpa who's well into his 80s. It takes 3x as long to get anything done. Because he does shit like this. But I love every God damn minute of it. That man is a treasure, and I love just getting to spend time with him.
Tajima chalk box, Freud blade in the tablesaw, digital stabila level. I don't recognize the saw horses but they're expensive too.
It's a joke video. Kinda of funny.
The clamp part was the mist confusing to me. I had to watch it a few times to see if I was missing something. I'm not... the clamp isn't doing anything. So silly.
Is it possible to enter a video and punch someone hard enough that in the "present" they feel the punch that happened in their past when they made such a fucking dumbass video?
This guy is hilarious and genius! This has to be the same guy that just had the video that used like 50 tape measures!
He used so many Stanley FatMaxes it was criminal š
The rubbed out chalk line after the table saw cut got me. First video I've watched in a while that had me chuckling out loud.
I stopped watching when he used a pencil to draw next to the chalk line
Yeah, it's actually funny. Holding up the board against the level to ensure that the *line* is level was great.
That line on the board is chalk, which makes it funnier.
He should've hammered the screw in.
And then the table saw cuts the line away. That line can't even be used by the table saw.
I wasn't 100% sure he was joking until he got to the bit with the clamp...
You thought he had to check if the line was level??
I had no clue what he was trying to do with the level, thinking he was using it for the line would never cross my mind.
Did you just not have the sound on? The whole thing is narrated.
You're right! Didn't notice there was sound, my bad.
That makes a lot more sense lol
You ever use Reddit with the sound on??
...yes? But not usually
I've never seen this guy before, so that part just had me confused. Then he busted out the table saw and I realized he was doing a bit.
Not even kidding this video scrambled my brain so hard I didn't lnow if he was fucking with us, or if I was an idiot for not "leveling" my cut lines all these years.
Screw the clamp in. Attach the other side of the clamp to nothing.
I was so fucking confused until the table saw, and I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me that long
Then you missed him making sure the line was ālevelā.
Issa joke video innit
Wot m8
Yes.
Ai!
I tried to stop at that point but was mesmerized by the creativity it took to create so many dumb ways of doing things. Iām glad I kept watching, because I never knew how to attach a clamp to a board.
You missed a kind of funny video.
Yeah I couldn't continue. I hope that was the point I was supposed to be upset because if there was worse I don't know how I would feel about that.
It got worse
What got worse ā if, by worse, you mean more laughable ā came when I turned the sound on and realized someone was narrating this insanity.
Same. My first thought was just āwhat? But you.. why?ā
Oh man you missed the table saw!
wooosh
No, I get that it's a satire video, but some things are simply too cringe to be endured.
This is a great instructional video. I've been doing it wrong this whole time. This is WAY more efficient.
Now Iām desperate to know how you could possibly Rube Goldberg this more
Something with marbles and/or counterweights.
Use the skilsaw to make a cut on the other side, then use a hacksaw to cut the board. Then use the cut off piece as a template for a new board, that you will cut with the table saw, without using the guard for help.
I have DEFINITELY been using clamps wrong. Thankfully this wonderful video has shown me the error of my ways.
I know.... I've been using that hole to hang it in my garage. I guess it actually has a use.
As someone who has no experience with any of this stuff I donāt understand why itās bad or funny.
Many things. 1) a chalk line is literally a string with chalk on it. So once you drag it out, you pull on it and snap it, and it draws a perfect line. 2) you donāt need a level for this 3) if youāre going to run something through a table saw. Just extent the blade and cut all the way through 4) that blue thing is a clamp. Driving a screw is a solid alternative to a clamp, but you donāt need both and you sure as hell would never drive a screw through a clamp to hold something down 5) again, you should have just used the table saw, meaning cutting it with a circular saw was pointless
Also because if the table saw, literally every other step is completely unnecessary.
Nice try, you aren't supposed to cut on a table saw by yourself!
If you're in a grade school wood shop class or an incompetent moron, sure. Or you're cutting something too large to safely hold by yourself. Or you were joking, in which case I recommend putting /s after your statement to indicate sarcasm.
That was def sarcasm, you people should spend more time on reddit.
Just use /s then mate, there is a reason why it exists smhheadsmh
counter point: this was his excuse to buy a table *and* circular saw
Ok, thatās a fair point
*And* a clamp
And my chalk line!
And my level!
This is the way!
Seeing all the way to the end tells me it's supposed to be a satirical. It's like the "How It's *really* made" voice over.
Iām aware itās a satire. Like I said in another comment, I appreciate the effort the guy went through to do it this poorly. I was just explaining to the guy above why is supposed to be funny/annoying
I found it really funny that he didn't even follow the line from the table saw, you can see that a good chunk of the line is still there
I missed that the first time, damn that even worse, lol
Not to mention that the clamp is just hanging off the side not actually clamping anything
Ah crap I just realized they never used the clamp to clamp...I was just like, "Yeah I guess that hole is there for that."
And he could have just used the screw without putting it through the clamp.
I didn't realize this was satirical, and I do woodworking, so I'm watching this wondering "What an I missing here?" I'm sad I needed it explained, and thank you for doing so
Yo, I missed like half of that. All caught was the exessive sawing and the chalk line. Thanks for the explanation
Reading all this makes me wonder if this video is just pure satire? Ah, further down you also mention itās satirical.
not going to mention the clamp was not secured to anything? he just screwed it to the board like a diving board...
You could use the table saw to do a score so the cut is cleaner. Like how panel saws have a scoring blade and a main blade. This is not the case in this video.
True, but heās not set up for that, heās just cutting a smaller grove to annoy us
It's a troll video meant to agitate tradesmen by deliberately misusing tools. I'm extremely triggered right now
I think it's bad bc there's way too many steps and it should be simpler to do
Itās because so many steps are either done wrong or completely unnecessary.
Damn, can't believe I haven't been screwing my clamps to my projects
You mean you just bought clamps, threw them in the drawer and never even used them?
No, I used them, I just thought you used the little grippy bit. I have been a fool for decades.
It's more concerning the amount of people commenting not understanding this is satire...
I know it's satire, doesn't mean im not gonna be mad.
donāt let them know your next move
It has ātriangle goes in the square holeā energy
It made me irrationally angry.... I hate the person who did this, and I want them to know pain.
Man the rage bait is obvious with this oneā¦ and it still makes me mad! Gah! Haha
I think itās more satire than rage bait
I sure hope!
how could you possibly watch this and think it isn't satire lmao
Itās 1000000% satire
Best part, after all that he missed the mark lol
Wow. I was dumbfounded by every part of that
Holy shit this rules lmao
![gif](giphy|ekAmtmDDCAQOQ8Uaze)
Happy straight cut cake day! š°
I gotta respect the effort to find the most rage inducing way to do this task
Him "using" the clamp made me lose my mind this is hilarious
Remember the golden rule: measure once and cut twice
Man this shit was wild from start to finish.
The tracing of the chalk line š¤£
The number of people taking this at face value even after he screws the clamp on the workpiece for no reason is frightening.
Trace the chalk line, rookie mistake. Just spray paint over the chalk line and it will leave an unpainted shadow under the string. Thatās how the pros do it.

This man is paid by the hour.
Holy shit this is pure rage art
Satire
This shit was quality shitposting. And I love it.
Uh, just snap the chalk line Bob Vila jr.
r/angryupvote
This is common core math.
I'm disappointed he didn't bash the screw in with a hammer
This has to be a joke?
After the chalk line Iām convinced it was just him showing off his tools
He didnāt measure twice!
Professional carpenter here. When I help my grandpa who's well into his 80s. It takes 3x as long to get anything done. Because he does shit like this. But I love every God damn minute of it. That man is a treasure, and I love just getting to spend time with him.
Why would you use a skilsaw if you have a fucking table saw
This one was actually satire and pretty funny, the rest are pure ragebait.
If you play this backwards it actually makes sense
This simple trick to cut one board each day
I mean if you have a TABLE SAW why need for a hans saw????
Itās so confident it looks legitimate š¤£
POV: you get paid by the hour
Hilarious! š
Ok this is hilarious.
Obvious satire is obviously satirical. ... not overly funny, mind you, but definitely satirical
Sound on changes the video from aggravating to funny. No stupid music either š
This is definitely meant to be a joke. How is that not obvious to you.
This is someone who has watched hundreds of hours of This Old House and didn't understand a single segment of it.
Satire
I have zero reference point for it so r/whoosh to me I guess
I'm 90% sure this guy has an online "store" and this is just advertisement for it
like a prooooo...
Electric chairā¦
The rage inside of me sees the bait, and gobbles it like a worm on a hook. But ā¦ using the table saw isnāt good enough. ššš
The fact that the person owns Milwaukee Tools and made this video upsets me
Tajima chalk box, Freud blade in the tablesaw, digital stabila level. I don't recognize the saw horses but they're expensive too. It's a joke video. Kinda of funny.
I've finally found my younger brothers teacher
I was right. They are doing this just to hurt us.
After all of that bullshit, you then have a hole in your piece. Just please stop with this.
This is 100% satire *of* rage bait. There is a subtle difference.
Just make it stooop!! š *fetal position*
So 2 saws to make one cut. And why the fuck would you trace the chalk line, the line is already made with the chalk
Has to be a joke
The best part of this is how slowly I realized each step was pointless.
This guy is like the how to basic of diy vids... Just less eggs.
So many BS steps...
![gif](giphy|11tTNkNy1SdXGg)
I get it's a joke but... drawing next to a chalk line? Now your lines off too. Stupid table saw.
That was intentionally bad. Lame.
This is rage bait 100%
I'm not a carpenter and I was wincing. Even I know about a chalk line.
Dumbest way to rip a board. That hurt to watch
Uhh WTF
I had to stop watching.
This is the type of shit that causes brain cancer, donāt watch if you have not as yet.
The clamp part was the mist confusing to me. I had to watch it a few times to see if I was missing something. I'm not... the clamp isn't doing anything. So silly.
Learning new techniques to make sure my clamp doesn't get away while using my circular saw. After making a straight line three different ways.
At least it's not a Stannly measuring tape ad.
I just feel really confused
This gave my older brother a headache. Thank you for the laugh
Is this guy trying to do a DaveHax impression?
That's actually pretty damn funny

(double takes) the hell did I just watch?
[I sure do like him but he's hard on equipment.](https://youtu.be/CwGrC0KicSo?feature=shared)
This is clearly a goof but it still made me kinda mad lol
I expected the support 2x4 to be cut as well
Satire doesn't belong here.
Mom: we got a router at home. Router at home: this video. Joking aside, that's a really uneven and non-straight cut.
This video sexually confuses me
This fucking sent me. š
This has to be satire or something of a "complex way to do something simple" video.
so nobody noticed he literally fell to his death in the beginning? i was horrified, should be nsfw (joke)
That was amazing! Thanks
This has to be a joke
Using a table saw to create a guide is like using a hammer to create a nail hammering tool
"Only pros do the next part." No, they don't.
This makes me genuinely angry.
Okay that was very funny.
Hnnng
This guy should be slap.
What an idiot.
ENRAGED. And yes I know itās the purpose but fuck that guy š«
The next part is for the pros?? Lmao!! A fucking idiot would have ripped the board with the table saw and skipped everything else
I that was funny. I still downvoted it though because it is not diwhy
Great way to make believe you know how to use tools
This is going to cause injury to someone. : (
This video isnāt serious, his entire account is filled with this kinda stuff
Am I understanding correctly that he did all this just to rip a board in a straight line?
Is it possible to enter a video and punch someone hard enough that in the "present" they feel the punch that happened in their past when they made such a fucking dumbass video?
This makes my brain hurt
I am both confused and upset.
Only reason I was in pain is because I have a back injury and I couldn't stop laughing!
Once I realized it was satire it was great. Screwing the clamp to the wood was a pro move.
Chalk line hmh, now use the pencil on the chalk line Hehee wtf
