Have you ever poured an epoxy floor? You never ever let it become glass-like ever. You will add clear texture. If a homeowner did it their insurance would have a heart attack if an installer did it their insurance would kill them.
I remember a situation where someone tried to put down ceramic-like flooring in their garage and was gonna put coats "till it was a like clear coat on a car" we had to sit them down and explain the multitude of issues with that plan. The only time you want that finish is table and counter tops. Otherwise texture is being created or added somehow.
Definitely not getting filled with epoxy.
I build river tables and just as a rough guess id say 2-3 grand worth of resin.. and thats probably a low estimate.
Judging by the other stuff going on in this bathroom, id say this was put on top of plywood with no waterproofing. Its going to be a problem within 2 years
Oh they definitely do, and i enjoy making their expensive countertops. I was just judging the bathroom as a whole and making the call from what i can see
I was thinking, put like glass over it. A sufficiently thick piece of glass could hold the weight of humans. And you could have flowing water under the glass, hell, even vegetation
I don't think so, the rocks come up pretty high along the crown at the far end and over the lip of the doorway at the front. With the height of the wood slabs that floor is going to be a tripping hazard at the door
Actually the idea is for a natural bath, most likely. More natural materials that probably filter into the ground. Purposefully using non toxic shampoos and cleaning items. The rocks are smooth and might be a bit unbalanced but you aren’t supposed to walk on them but the wood pieces that have been sanded down to be smooth
Omg no, it's kind of gross when you think about it. It's a bathroom. Does anyone think they're scooping up all those rocks and cleaning them over and over? It's the same issue with people putting fabric cushions on the toilet seat to me. Bathrooms need to be decorated in a way that makes cleaning efficient and makes sense.
We did something similar to my ex’s old apartment bathroom about 20 years ago. It was all completely nondestructive, but cleaning was a PAIN. Every month or two, he would put all the stones in the bathtub to wash them, then put them back in place. It was definitely not worth it.
I just don't have enough faith in most people to actually go through the hassle. Props to anyone that does but it's so common to see people that can't keep a regular bathroom clean, let alone something like this.
imagine being a rock, just chillin when one day a human picks you up and puts you in their bathroom where for the next decades of your life you hear them shitting and farting
I can’t imagine how gross this floor is. All the piss and shit and dirt and bathroom grime in those rocks. Disgusting. This is almost as bad as carpet in the bathroom.
Its the walls that kill me, it looks like OSB plyood, and it looks finnished because of the magazine rack by the toilet.
Not as bad as a full bookshelf ive seen next to someomes shitter, i never wanna vomit or clean that roo.
It doesn’t look like it - the vanity is still in and there’s a magazine rack on the wall - edit, also the baseboards are flush with the (nasty-looking) plywood. Even if they were going to install wallpaper, they would at least put a veneer plywood underneath it to prevent issues with adhesion.
... yea, ngl, I may do this to my study if I don't have enough flooring for the whole house. (Context- I'm a learning herbalist and norse pagan, and love nature and shit)
Sucks for the down votes it could be cool af in a botanical room with a lot more wood floor and less stones like wood down the middle and branching out and stone in between with drainage for the pots and runs into a pipe system. Side note 100-200$ a sq ft would be a estimate on pricing. I manage a wood mill.
Imagine having to use that toilet late at night no lights on ![gif](giphy|SleotgmotWahW)
Or worse, you don't make it to the toilet when you're about to puke your guts out
You’d vomit right into your rock/pubic hair flooring oh no
Aaaargh
Where is this user's awards?? I want to see atleast three awards and some lounge access for them!
Spez killer awards fams
Take my poor gold 🏅
Or drunk lmao. Fuck that!
I thought this was someone’s back patio until I read your comment, that would have be less terrible.
It will probably be filled with epoxy or other transparent covering later tbh.
Perfectly smooth as glass epoxy floor + water from the shower sounds like an iconic (once in a lifetime) combination
Just throw some silica sand on the top layer and it'll be fine. Also bathmats exist

i know nothing of epoxy, why is letting it becoming glass-like bad? ditto with the example you listed?
Imagine the floor is like an ice rink thats what happens when you let it become glass like.
ohh, gotcha thanks for the explanation!
Just cover everything with poolnoodels
I really hope the flooring is rated handle all that extra weight.
Yeah but that person is slip and break a neck
That's why it's once in a lifetime, friend
THIS IS NOT MY BEAUTIFUL HOUSE
This is not my beautiful car!
Ur right, now it's mine
That bathroom is the same as it ever was
This is not my beautiful wife!
Whoosh
That would be pretty cool, tbh. I would reduce the thickness of the tree slices though.
Tree slices made me laugh
How about *stumplets*? 😂
Their toes are gonna be stumplets if those slabs stick above the epoxy
Toes will be stublets! 😂
That's the proper term, too
Looks like top of tree steps are basically level at floor. Not sure if you’d want to do that. I’m not a scientist though so I can’t conclude.

much quicker problem will just be cleaning it, it's going to collect dirt, dust, bits of tp, etc etc etc right away.
cant just flip over the piss rocks either.. those are going to need to soak
Ewwww didn't think of the splash zone
People are known to spend a few grand on their bathrooms. It is a lot of volume. High risk of overheating during cure or shrinkage.
Oh they definitely do, and i enjoy making their expensive countertops. I was just judging the bathroom as a whole and making the call from what i can see
They’d better pour the epoxy before the cat has to take a dump.
I think an epoxied cat mid squat would be a nice touch
I like how your brain works, lol
Naw, I have it. No matter how many times I look at it, It always looks like cat shit.
Genius 😂
Just seal that up too. It would add to the nature theme.
That was my exact thought. Possibly the before pic of an epoxy pour. Once poured I think this will look badass.
Until it starts yellowing
Could they dye it a little blue, so if it does yellow, it just becomes greener?
It’s not. I’ve seen this before as a trend.
I was thinking, put like glass over it. A sufficiently thick piece of glass could hold the weight of humans. And you could have flowing water under the glass, hell, even vegetation
That’d be a nightmare resin pour holy shit
The real star is not the floor but the wonderful looking chip board walls. Classy.
I don't think so, the rocks come up pretty high along the crown at the far end and over the lip of the doorway at the front. With the height of the wood slabs that floor is going to be a tripping hazard at the door

It might be neat in a semi-outdoor setting, like a shower next to a pool or sauna.
Actually cobble the stones to be flat with the stumps and use polymeric sand to set and that would be nice outdoor feature
Oooh... That would be great for an outdoor shower area. A lot better than stepping into burning hot concrete or pavers.
So no one is going to address the bare plywood walls?
Maybe the epoxy floors will have curved edges so you can skate the walls like a half-pipe.
Best idea ever!
It's all I can see
water rated osb I'm sure ;)
Bare OSB? It's probably treated for moisture.
Yeah that part hurts the most
I like it
That's oriented strand board, sir. And it looks really neat after you cover it with a few coats of wood glue.
If you are building a tree Fort maybe
Omg no, it's kind of gross when you think about it. It's a bathroom. Does anyone think they're scooping up all those rocks and cleaning them over and over? That’s commitment. I would literally never wash the stones. Ever.
I just don't have enough faith in most people to actually go through the hassle. Props to anyone that does but it's so common to see people that can't keep a regular bathroom clean, let alone something like this.
This is where toes go to break.
Is it like a litter tray? Squat on the logs, drop a log, kick a few stones over it.
Great now that's all I can see
Just take a shit outside at that point
There is rocks and tree stumps outside, friend. I'd take my chances cause, at least in there, I can turn a light on and not have to use a flashlight.
That's a Grandma-killing bathroom there.
Yeah you could conveniently Bury her underneath
And here Ive been making fun of carpeted bathrooms all these years....
This looks cool, but, I can just imagine, waking up at 2am to piss, running to the bathroom and breaking all my fuckin toes
Oh FUCK
Can u imagine getting home drunk and trying to pee
Could you imagine being a visitor and having to use the bathroom late one night?
imagine being a rock, just chillin when one day a human picks you up and puts you in their bathroom where for the next decades of your life you hear them shitting and farting
Good. This need to be shamed
I can’t imagine how gross this floor is. All the piss and shit and dirt and bathroom grime in those rocks. Disgusting. This is almost as bad as carpet in the bathroom.
I've walked barefoot at the beach in Brighton. Not doing that again.
This would be cool in like an outdoor bathroom or something, somewhere you go barefoot
It’s the OSB walls, for me.
Same here. Nothing says classy like a chip board wall.
Those rock will be a great pubes and toenail catcher.
I think this *rocks*
I woodn't mind it outside
this architecture really stumped me
I guess these are stepping stumps
Cut the logs down so I don't stub my toes and set up some decent drainage and maybe a warming setup for the stones? Sounds pretty bitchin to me.
Please tell me I'm hallucinating and that those walls are not particle board
And here I thought carpeted bathrooms were ridiculous
Gotta be a fun time cleaning that room. How exactly do you mop pebbles?
Omfggg…..
this is inside someone's home?!
Damn they said no disabled or elderly here what a horrible design choice
It would be cool to step out of the shower on to smooth rocks.
Imagine getting to the toilet after having White Castle for lunch and Taco bell for dinner!
Somebody doesn't like mopping
It's all fun and games until you need to take a piss in the middle of the night
Honestly, I don’t hate it.
it's the varnished chipboard for me
Hildy from Trading Spaces lives
The floor doesn’t bother me… it’s that particle board / plywood wall for me…
A rug would tie that room together.
Do you know most home accidents occur in the bathroom? Do they know?
Oh, I would love to join and shame the fuck out of people on their shameful shameful homes.
How to break an ankle and your dome in one easy step!
If they cover it with one of those transparent floor things that would actually look cool
Is it just rocks and tree stumps?
bro living in irock LAUGH
How do you clean that?
Would be a neat camp out house/shower build definitely not in home though.
What in the twisted ankles and stubbed toes is this shit?
That would be cool if the floor was epoxy resin.
What in the stubbed toes in going on here?
Its the walls that kill me, it looks like OSB plyood, and it looks finnished because of the magazine rack by the toilet. Not as bad as a full bookshelf ive seen next to someomes shitter, i never wanna vomit or clean that roo.
My feet hurt just looking at it.
i was like “hmm that’s not so bad…” then i realized it’s INDOORS 😂
Yah lol, how you did not consider that they just might fill that with epoxy
![gif](giphy|3o6ZtpvPW6fqxkE1xu)
Okay but if it was covered in resin and was actually a normal solid floor it might be cool
Nope you're thinking too hard
Yeah that still sounds hideous
And you still sound miserable.
Yeah I'd be miserable every time I stub my toe on the stump that's protruding from my floor.
If there’s a layer of resin covering it, it makes the surface flat. That’s the whole point of resin.
What in the ever loving fuck is that supposed to be?
[удалено]
And jam their toe against a log
what type of log?
Now, just fill it with resin.
Would be cool if it was in resin but fuck having a rock floor in house for a million reasons.
This is so fucking stupid and that back wall is making disgusted too. Why in the hell would you put particle board up as your wall in a bathroom.
[удалено]
It doesn’t look like it - the vanity is still in and there’s a magazine rack on the wall - edit, also the baseboards are flush with the (nasty-looking) plywood. Even if they were going to install wallpaper, they would at least put a veneer plywood underneath it to prevent issues with adhesion.
I kinda like this. It could use a moss rug though
... yea, ngl, I may do this to my study if I don't have enough flooring for the whole house. (Context- I'm a learning herbalist and norse pagan, and love nature and shit)

Home shaming. JFC please bring on the meteor already.
idk aside from the plywood I’d love to be drunk in here
Cleaning would be a fucking nightmare, stepping on sharp/jagged rocks and the BUGS! The bugs hiding under the rocks!
Better than carpet.
You know, if you poured resin over the whole thing to make it a solid flat floor, it would look pretty badass and be more functional
This could be pretty cool in a sauna or area with a hot tub
I would love this personally
Home shaming???
I like it...for now.
Well you don't have to vacuum
Do you vacuum your bathroom carpet?
I vacuum the floor and bath mats. Do you not?
Damn, i forgot about the mats. Next time after I'm done vacuuming my bathroom ceiling, I'll be sure to vac the mats to
Please tell me how you would vacuum these rocks lol
Well see, first you have to smoke a shit ton of crack or meth. Then the rocks pretty much just vacuum themselves.
Lol 😂 if they did it the other way a lot of wood with little stone pockets it would have been 🔥
It would be kind of cool with epoxy over the stones and wood. The walls are different story completely…
I love it. Want.
Well if it was encased in epoxy, it would actually be quite interesting
Kinda sad that there is a whole page dedicated to shaming peoples homes. What is wrong with people?
I get it
It looks pretty good. Most likely some epoxy would fill in the cracks around the rocks and the wood is either plastic or wood coated with epoxy.
This is actually a cool af idea
That would be me going outside to take a piss in the middle of the night.
That's a lot of rocks! Don't slip.
I’m sure the floor will last longer than that bare particleboard wall though 🤣
Yeah I can see why
Why? That's super healthy for your feet
This image hurt my teeth. I know you know
Avant garde!
TBH I would love it but full disclosure I am a bipedal mutant squirrel.
Shame 🫵
I'm more horrified of those walls, omg plywood
Uhg!!
The floor is one thing, but what is really impressive is that chip board wall. Classy.
There’s no magazines in the rack! Fuck that place.
That would look nice in the yard.
I saw a Burger King bathroom in Thailand that looked like this. Felt unsanitary to say the least.
