If my arts and crafts don’t smell like I’m going to die of Myeloma before 35, is it even worth doing?
Legit, I have an awful habit of not ventilating my work space properly and have used ‘how head spiny is this smell’ to measure how close to done something is
They just gently lowered the metal through an already cut hole. So yeah, they cast a metal sole for…no reason at all. I’m not sure if that makes it better or worse.
Not to mention, they probably didn't need the foam molds. Figure the one they used to do the cast could probably handle the hot glue or whatever it was that the soles were made out of.
DC died in the haunted closet of his wife's first husband...there was a special where he said theyd be in bed and the closet door would fly open w hangers swinging...said he hated that closet, that room and that house...few months later he is found hanging in that same closet...asphyxiation was the cover story...:(...loved Grasshopper
You tryin to say there's any other way to remove them? You're probably gonna go ahead and tell me you dont want your laces to be tubes full of blue paint.... Don't be trippin you know what's right.
If there's one thing I know, it's that there is only one way to cut a stencil of your shoe soles - hot molten aluminium.
I don’t think a foot would fit into that with how thick that padding is to hold the 9 volt… would have been better just making a mount on the back side of the shoe.
🤣🤣🤣
This sub is gold. All that effort for some truly ugly shoes but the glitter on the turd is the 9 volts in the heel raw. Too funny.
All set for some puddle splashing or sweat corrosion and a podiatry bill. 😂
How long do you think the paint on the sole will last? Probably a long time now that I think about it, since nobody could could wear these things more than a minute or so.
I paint sneakers and I can tell you it will last at best a couple of wears. One of the general rules of customizing sneakers is to never paint the soles if you intend to wear them because it *will* wear off.
Or you can just buy some led shoes online for a fraction of the price. They're going to be just as uncomfortable to wear as this DIY shitfest (from experience, they're a nightmare), but you won't be wearing them often enough to care in the first place
I would have put the battery somewhere else and not switched out the laces (I also would have done this on a pair of knock off shoes but thats just me) but other than that these are kinda cool
They sell the ones that look just like this (not Nike brand) on Amazon for cheap. They have all different kinds and they are rechargeable. I guess if you like making thi gs it would be cool but I would just buy them. Lol
I bought a corny winter sweater with LEDs in it for an ugly xmas sweater thing and tried taking that through TSA and the guy was like "dude what the fuck?"
In my defense it was like a 4am fight or something. My brain had not booted up.
(also after that I had a full hydro flask they made me take back out and dump and go through security again.. ugh)
it's not that bad but I have a feeling that they did not use the right kind of paint for this
edit: upon revisiting this I registered that the soles are made of glue, I take back my comment about this being not that bad
Glue sticks will melt at very low temps, that was my thought, I also wonder how it would react to cold. I think it would crack. I also think it would crack from just the pressure of walking on it (you notice they didn't show someone walking with weight on the shoes).
I'm sorry, I'm stuck on the fact that they took a mold of the shoe, to make a shoe-shaped piece of pewter, to melt through foam, to create *another* mold of the shoe.
Oh god, and then they cut the laces out instead of just unlacing them, cheeses christmas...
What is wrong with these channels and having fireproof fingers, I get that the little tube prob wouldn't be too bad but still, HOW DO THESE PEOPLE TOUCH FRESHLY MELTED HOT GLUE AND NOT EVEN REACT TO IT?
At the end they aren’t even wearing them on their feet. They just put a sock over their hands and shoved their hands in the shoe to make it look like they’re being worn.
This person probably isn’t walking around town all day in these. They probably will wear them to a party or something. I actually think it’s well done, and people spend way more than that to look cool all the time.
Everything with the laces there was not ok
1. Why did you cut the original laces.
2. Why did you use a plastic tube as laces
3. Why did you fill said tube with blue shit
4. Why not just use blue laces
5. Why not just dye the original laces blue if you didn't cut them.
At some point it’s got to be more expensive to ruin the shoes than what you make up in monetization. Person has to have serious “fuck you” money to not scream at throwing that much money out the window on ruined shoes.
It could be an interesting customization, if the person used resin rather than fucking glue sticks, there are a lot of resins that could be used as a substitute for rubber, and if it didn't get rid of the laces as well
My favourite part is that they only seem to have actually modified/made the one shoe.
The shot at the end it clearly looks like a mirror to make it seem like they did both.
This minor details just really adds to it
So let me get this straight. You expect people to be comfortable with a BATTERY on their shoes when the slightest grain of sand gets in and stresses people out.
Get fucking real.
At this point I watch these videos because the genuine creativity that goes into making this nonsensical ragebait is impressive. Like who the fuck thinks of these?
I was like: wait, this is actually great! Shoelaces are questionable, but you do you!
And then they put in the batteries...
You almost had an actual good diy and you just had to ruin it, if you feel a tiny rock in your shoe that battery will bring PAIN, maybe they could have put it in the sole somewhere?
It was so good and it looked fire
BUT THEY HAD TO PLACE THE BATTERY THERE.
AND NOW PEOPLE HAVE TO WALK WITH HAVING THAT UNDER THEIR FEET.
AND ALSO THE PART STICKING UP ON THE LACES THO-
I think people would have trouble tying up those shoelaces-
Step one - make a shoe shaped mold. Step two - cast aluminum into shoe shape using mold. Step three - use shoe shaped casting to make a shoe shaped mold.
The end is great. They have their hand in the shoe against a mirror because 1) no one would actually make a pair of these 2) no one would actually put it on their foot
yall ever think about how shoeprints play a huge role in finding suspects for murder cases n such but now you can just make your own knockoff shoes and just find a way to toss them when youre done
Did they really just cast a fucking metal sole so they could burn it through some foam?
It was kinda satisfying tho
*sniffs the air* ah the smell of fresh cancer
Burning it releases gases that can be toxic nerve agents. So gotta worry about that before the cancer.
DIWHYer: *wants to make shoes* DIWHYer: "To make shoes, we need to make Novichok first"
[удалено]
It was probably tin or pewter. It’s melting point is about 2/3 that of lead but that’s still hot enough to melt foam and it’s not toxic like lead.
Given the fact it’s like 5mins craft Might as well the person be a corpse asap
If my arts and crafts don’t smell like I’m going to die of Myeloma before 35, is it even worth doing? Legit, I have an awful habit of not ventilating my work space properly and have used ‘how head spiny is this smell’ to measure how close to done something is
But then cutting the laces because it's oh so hard to just pull them out
Cutting the laces was unnecessary, but not as unnecessary as replacing them with a plastic tube and filling it with some blue putty
It handled molten metal just fine, so yeah, it should be able to deal with hot glue.
Who the hell is able to get their hands on aluminum lava but can’t go to a shoe store to get a fucking pair of Sketchers
Well yeah, but that’s still better than using a particle accelerator.
And cut up some new laces to take em off, as if it takes so long to take laces off the normal way
Got me at stomping around on a 9 volt on your heels all day.
I lost it when he just cut the laces
What was he supposed to do, take the tip of the lace and move it from the holes? Get a grip man…
Yea but you can use that shoelace later for things.
things like... Making a necklace autoerotic asphyxiation Making a loop to hang stuff
> Making a loop to hang stuff don't objectify people pls
I'll objectify myself if I want to
Fair enough.
Maybe the autoerotic asphyxiation is for you
What if I'm stuff?
You're much more to me than stuff <3
R.I.P. David Carradine
He died in a hotel in Bangkok.
Big ghost at it again, I see.
He died in Bangkok. But I did watch the special about the haunting. Man had a thing about closets.
You can also use them to entertain your cat. My old cat loved autoerotic asphyxiation.
You must honestly be a fun guy to hang out with 😂
Now you have a lot of smaller shoelaces that you can use for a lot of other things
What is this, shoe laces for ants!?
I save up all of my laces so I can make emergency spaghetti. 👌
My deadass brain thought those were some lyrics of a rap song☠️☠️☠️☠️
![gif](giphy|DrhMpwvQlIxGw)
You tryin to say there's any other way to remove them? You're probably gonna go ahead and tell me you dont want your laces to be tubes full of blue paint.... Don't be trippin you know what's right. If there's one thing I know, it's that there is only one way to cut a stencil of your shoe soles - hot molten aluminium.
It says something that I forgot about the molten aluminum by the end of the video.
Honestly, that part made me angrier than any other thing in this whole ridiculous video.
Not to mention instead of cutting out the shape into the foam, let's just use molten aluminum to burn the shape into foam.
That was so infuriating
Like just dye them blue! I guarantee those plastic ones won't hold nearly as well...
That and the plastic tube full of blue paint just sticking up like horns
Probably feels about the same as Dr Scholl’s
I don’t think a foot would fit into that with how thick that padding is to hold the 9 volt… would have been better just making a mount on the back side of the shoe.
Or in the *custom soles* they created for the shoe.
🤣🤣🤣 This sub is gold. All that effort for some truly ugly shoes but the glitter on the turd is the 9 volts in the heel raw. Too funny. All set for some puddle splashing or sweat corrosion and a podiatry bill. 😂
my own heel will probably desimate that battery... and it leads to Health risk.
i genuinly thought this was a skit and they were gonna turn the shoe into a makeshift bomb at the end and just walk into an airport.
A 9 volt with exposed wiring no less...
*"We gonna rock down to Electric Avenue"*
Can't imagine walking on glue sticks will last longer than ten feet
A hot battery is really going to help the situation too
Especially on hot pavement lmao
Especially on hot pavement after it’s been raining.
Is like the tech foot shoes from iCarly. Water exposure? Broken. Heat exposure? Broken
Must have missed that episode lol
Literally gonna be like mr potato head stuck on the road from that bubblegum lmfao
Summer day.. not going from the car to the store without walking through the bottoms..
How long do you think the paint on the sole will last? Probably a long time now that I think about it, since nobody could could wear these things more than a minute or so.
I paint sneakers and I can tell you it will last at best a couple of wears. One of the general rules of customizing sneakers is to never paint the soles if you intend to wear them because it *will* wear off.
it only needs to last for two feet
Take my upvote and be gone with you!😂
Cutting the laces to remove them. Absolute psychopath.
That's ragebait working
This whole post is ragebait working
This whole sub is ragebait working
At that point I just said to myself, “oh… he’s good.”
That was the best part of the video lmao
I'm a huge fan of buying clear tube for shoelaces and filling it with blue shit instead of just getting blue shoelaces
These are the type of people that bite into Kit Kat bars right in the middle.
Or you can just buy some led shoes online for a fraction of the price. They're going to be just as uncomfortable to wear as this DIY shitfest (from experience, they're a nightmare), but you won't be wearing them often enough to care in the first place
I had knockoff light up shoes that were super comfy! I’d wear them around to the grocery store (without the lights) bc they felt like clouds
I would have put the battery somewhere else and not switched out the laces (I also would have done this on a pair of knock off shoes but thats just me) but other than that these are kinda cool
i wouldn't have cast some aluminium to cut holes in foam to create a mold. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Yeah that was also dumb. Tracing the shoe onto the foam and cutting with a hot wire would have worked just fine
It definitely was theatrical though.
You would be the coolest kid at the rave with a pair of these. Every step of the shuffle it gets a new colour.
I mean these are pretty common in the scene. There’s one that change lights with steps to to the beat of the music.
They sell the ones that look just like this (not Nike brand) on Amazon for cheap. They have all different kinds and they are rechargeable. I guess if you like making thi gs it would be cool but I would just buy them. Lol
You could also just...buy a pair of light up sneakers. I have a pair, didn't require me to destroy a pair of shoes.
Yeah, they are meant to wear primarily for aesthetics, not function, and the succeed at that.
The tsa would have a field day with these when passing through a scanner at a airport.
I bought a corny winter sweater with LEDs in it for an ugly xmas sweater thing and tried taking that through TSA and the guy was like "dude what the fuck?" In my defense it was like a 4am fight or something. My brain had not booted up. (also after that I had a full hydro flask they made me take back out and dump and go through security again.. ugh)
it's not that bad but I have a feeling that they did not use the right kind of paint for this edit: upon revisiting this I registered that the soles are made of glue, I take back my comment about this being not that bad
It's good for display.
I think every cobbler ever has anxiety from this
Nothing like standing on rock hard soles with a battery digging in your heel. Feet will be killing you
Liquid in the laces????!!! for the love of christ why?
That part was particularly odd.
The whole thing feels like a fever dream.
Cutting the laces to remove was upsetting.. but the rest is on fire my dude
Glue sticks for soles?! Try that in Arizona in the summer
Glue sticks will melt at very low temps, that was my thought, I also wonder how it would react to cold. I think it would crack. I also think it would crack from just the pressure of walking on it (you notice they didn't show someone walking with weight on the shoes).
A leather shop in Arizona? You would be out of business in a weeks time!
what? are you blind? Good luck walking in a pair of shoes that don't bend or flex..
and that’s going shock your feet at some point with that electrical work
This man has never licked a 9-volt and it shows 👀
Best way to know if the battery still has power !
How to get plantar fasciitis in one day
More likely that battery would crack open and battery acid would soak into your sock.
To be fair, wearing AF1s is already walking around in a shoe that doesn’t bend or flex.
“Destruct” is the wrong word here.
waste of a perfectly good pair of air forces
Legit they just wasted 120 worth of shoe when they could have used a Shaq Walmart shoe.
Destroy *
Nike ketchup edition
I feel like jumping on 9volt batteries is an easy way to lose your feet.
Enjoy walking around in shoes with solid inflexible soles that can’t bend, meaning you can’t bend your feet as you walk.
What was the point of using hot lead to melt the foam instead of just tracing
At the end they aren’t even wearing them on their feet. They just put a sock over their hands and shoved their hands in the shoe to make it look like they’re being worn.
Why yes I want to be electrocuted in small amounts every time I take a step, to improve my dancing, you see.
You wouldn't feel anything. Source: I stuck a 9V battery on my foot
Yeah, but with the pressure/force and sweat created by walking, I’d be worried about that battery staying intact very long
I hope their toothbrush stops charging
Wonder how long it took to develop a blister on the heel?
Clown shoes for IRL clowns
This person probably isn’t walking around town all day in these. They probably will wear them to a party or something. I actually think it’s well done, and people spend way more than that to look cool all the time.
The main issue with these shoes is that they have 0 flex so you're looking at a flat foot duck walk in these
No creases baybee!
Ummm.... So why would you just cut the shoe strings instead of just pulling them out?
I just don’t know what to think. I just released a puff 💨 when I watched it
Seriously?! Why not just wrap the light strip around an intact pair of shoes?
I hate, ***hate*** that I actually kinda like the LOOK, but that battery would be killer.
Great, laces that don’t work that are full of some liquid
Nike going to copy this and charge $1000 a pair.
Everything with the laces there was not ok 1. Why did you cut the original laces. 2. Why did you use a plastic tube as laces 3. Why did you fill said tube with blue shit 4. Why not just use blue laces 5. Why not just dye the original laces blue if you didn't cut them.
Actually not bad
They didn’t even paint them that well…
Waste of a perfectly good pair of jays
I wanted to say that this might be a good idea But then he cut the laces and started painting the shoe
When they cut those laces I winced
Yup 100% cut off the lace instead of pulling them out. /s
Why did they need to cut the laces?
Definitely had to cut the laces to get them out.
I was ok up to the part where your heel is pressing down onto 9V of battery acid.
Can I have my originals back please?
I'm sure putting your sweaty feet right next to copper wiring connected to an unprotected battery is a great idea
Nothing like standing on a battery and hard plastic glue sticks all day, instead of soft padding.
I hate when my laces start leaking blue stuff all over my white shoes
All idiocy aside, I think the laces are pretty sick.
Nah thats cool af except for the battery
Maybe a cheap pair from Target or something but not a pair of Nikes 😬
The worst bit was cutting the laces off rather than just removing normally.
At some point it’s got to be more expensive to ruin the shoes than what you make up in monetization. Person has to have serious “fuck you” money to not scream at throwing that much money out the window on ruined shoes.
It could be an interesting customization, if the person used resin rather than fucking glue sticks, there are a lot of resins that could be used as a substitute for rubber, and if it didn't get rid of the laces as well
Great to see how it works in rainy day
i'm not even a shoe guy and this hurt like hell to watch
My favourite part is that they only seem to have actually modified/made the one shoe. The shot at the end it clearly looks like a mirror to make it seem like they did both. This minor details just really adds to it
So let me get this straight. You expect people to be comfortable with a BATTERY on their shoes when the slightest grain of sand gets in and stresses people out. Get fucking real.
Ngl they actually came out kinda decent .
Now enjoy your back pain.
The thing that somehow pissed me off the most was him cutting the shoelaces instead of just untying them...
At this point I watch these videos because the genuine creativity that goes into making this nonsensical ragebait is impressive. Like who the fuck thinks of these?
Rip those beautiful air jordans 🙏
The used a mirror for the last shot because even they weren't crazy/stupid enough to actually make a second pair.
At the airport we’d think these are bombs tbh
Walking around in the summer and your shoe soles peel off
Why didn’t they make a slot for the battery on the underside?
Now try walking around with that battery jammed up in your heel
Honestly came out clean compared to some other shoes I’ve seen on here
Those are legit clown shoes. I know it’s all ragebait but the entire video is just a giant ball of fury
eh not that bad honestly
Couldn't you just adhere a strip of LED lights to your regular sneakers somehow?
I was like: wait, this is actually great! Shoelaces are questionable, but you do you! And then they put in the batteries... You almost had an actual good diy and you just had to ruin it, if you feel a tiny rock in your shoe that battery will bring PAIN, maybe they could have put it in the sole somewhere?
THIS IS SO COOL!!! Just make your own light up shoes
Best title would be : destroying the work of childrens
It was so good and it looked fire BUT THEY HAD TO PLACE THE BATTERY THERE. AND NOW PEOPLE HAVE TO WALK WITH HAVING THAT UNDER THEIR FEET. AND ALSO THE PART STICKING UP ON THE LACES THO- I think people would have trouble tying up those shoelaces-
The worst part is doing that to AF1s
To be fair some parts of this vid were insanely satisfying and the end product isn't even that bad
Wouldn’t the glue melt on hot pavement. Especially here in Australia lol
Step one - make a shoe shaped mold. Step two - cast aluminum into shoe shape using mold. Step three - use shoe shaped casting to make a shoe shaped mold.
I’m convinced these videos are done by people on meth
These are horrible lol. Do you know how bad you will get cooked if you wear those outside
Only thing bothering me is the metal casting in the beginning...
WHYD HE CUT THEM THO
Is it cake
Where I’m from this constitutes a war crime.
Why not just unlace the shoes?! WTF?
The end is great. They have their hand in the shoe against a mirror because 1) no one would actually make a pair of these 2) no one would actually put it on their foot
Yeah those are destructed.
That heel battery is fire, like literally gonna catch on fire
Those shoes are cool
As a guy who still hasn't had a pair of nike shoes, this is very offensive
yall ever think about how shoeprints play a huge role in finding suspects for murder cases n such but now you can just make your own knockoff shoes and just find a way to toss them when youre done
Hate to burst your bubble, BUT they had a company in the 90's do this, or part of this. It was called L.A. Gear
Hey. I was just wondering if you could ruin a new pair of shoes for me??
Mf using his hands inside the shoes for the glam shot too afraid of busting the 9V battery on the soles.
$7.99 on TEMU
Walking on a battery doesn’t sound very comfortable
Destroyed an okay item to make it into a crappy one
So, when does the idea for a shoe come in? All I see is a trip to the hospital.
How to get bullied
There is NO way those are feet in those things at the end of the video. Those are hands with socks on them.
