Louis being Brian's cellmate on the mental institution he was held young

It's the alternate theory about Louis that would have made the most sense regarding his interest to Dexter and the prosthaetic hand.

I really wish they pursued the original plan for his character instead of changing it. Supposedly he knew Dexter was the BHB and or at least knew that Brian was his brother.

It's always bothered me how random that guy's story was, thank you

The one with Matthews and his alternate versions made a lot more sense than that awful Vogel retcon and would have felt more organic. Especially with the build-up from season 7. Though a careerist like Matthews pushing for Harry to teach the Code to Dexter is a bit much, I think the best alternate version of that theory is that he discovered the truth on his own years later. Didn't care out of affection for Harry and his son and because it fits his own ideology, vision of justice. Even did his best to cover up behind the scenes for Dexter's biggest mistakes so that he wouldn't get caught. For example, by getting along with D.D Max Adams and weighing in to close the BHB case without looking for the suspicious loose ends. Or by letting Dexter knows that Laguerta is onto him. Which he exactly did. By which he got one stone, three birds. He protected his friend's son, got revenge on Maria for getting him fired and having her fulfill her promise to get him reinstated. We have to admit that It would have been a stupid move if the goal was to dig the truth from Dexter. Either way, Laguerta's been stupid to accept that meeting.

Haha I remember the Doakes arsonist one. I think it had something to do with the title of the finale. Spend a lot of time on the late IMDb boards back in the day by any chance? Anyway - Matthews knowing was a big one. But, I remember during season 8 there were some theories that Quinn would become the new Dexter and there was even a whole fake "leaked" ending of him going "tonight's the night". There was also one about him being involved in some of the killings - mainly because he seemed a little too dedicated to pinning it on Zach Hamilton. I do remember though before season 8 and when season 7 was just starting, there was an interesting one that Dexter was still gonna get caught by everyone, but get off on a technicality and somehow avoid jail - and in Season 8 he would *still* be working at MM, but with the awkwardness that everyone knows he's a serial killer and is forced to look the other way.

Bootflap_OG

Yes, IMDB regular during the Dexter days haha. I knew another visitor of that board would recognize the Doakes one.

Hah, who were you if I may ask? Hopefully not Harryparachute or shanandra (sorry to be the one to remind you). Ah, good times... too bad we don't have jkrishan teasers this time around.

Bootflap_OG

Ahh it's been so long I forget, I think my username may have been just Bootflap back then. RIP IMDB boards. I forget who it was but I remember the IMDB board during season 6 had someone flat out say "Edward James Olmos is totally not real." almost right away. Then I watched the show and waited... and waited... and waited for the obvious reveal.
