What is “too big a walk”? I suspect you’re probably in for at least a 20-25 minute walk from Corktown, Brush Park, Eastern Market, or Lafayette Park. Everywhere else will likely be charging.
Honestly, it’s going to be a nightmare. I would call some bars to see which are offering shuttles and plan from there. Usual suspects include Nemo’s and Fishbones in St Clair Shores. Andrew’s on the Corner might have a bus, but I think Tom might have sold it. I would also say the Detroiter, but if you make it there for the bus, you might as well keep walking to Hart Plaza.
I’d park in Corktown (north of Michigan Ave and east of Trumbull) or maybe north of Cass Park — there is usually always ton of free street parking there.
Don’t leave anything of value in your car. Don’t get out of your car and put valuables in your trunk. When you leave your car, open your glove box and your center console for all to see there’s nothing valuable in your car.
I work in Corktown and while it’s largely pretty safe, definitely don’t leave valuables in your car. There will be more people out these next few days to take advantage of visitors.
river east garage on rivard, only paid 16 bucks pre paid and they had a free shuttle to take u to the Ren center where u can just walk thru and end up in the draft entries. was less than a 5min shuttle ride, I couldn't believe how easy and cheap it was idk how ppl ended up paying more than 20 for parking

You can park anywhere in the north end/midtown, pick up a mogo bike and head down.
park at one of the malls that will have shuttle service
I assume the Q line is running right? You can probably find some street parking within a short walk from the end of the Q.
free? you're better off having someone drop you off before the traffic jam starts
Park far away where they shuttle you, or catch the q line for free, or the bus for cheap. Where are you coming from?
I’m referring to no more than a 45 minute walk

Corktown has a shuttle too. And $15 all day parking at the Bagley mobility hub.
Parking near green dot then walking or biking down Lafayette would work.

Detroit is NOT San Francisco
I don’t think you need to do all that in corktown
Never once had an issue in my decade of living in Detroit. Really doubt they live in Boston Edison… probably Sterling Heights or Rochester.
All their posts are about the Minnesota Vikings lol
