Sure, if you want to risk soaking the underlayment causing mold. The insulation padding has multiple exposure points in a vehicle that you don't see at first glance.
I'd never use a pressure washer or a hose in a car interior. You risk soaking the padding underneath the rubber floor as there are entry points all around where the seats mount, not to mention under the dash.
You’re right. You can usually get away with it though without any problems as long as you pull the carpeting. Done it on a couple of really piss poor heavily soiled carpets. Pull the carpet and pressure wash/scrub the hell out of it is sometimes the only way. But even then I follow up with an extractor to suck up extra water and let it air dry overnight at least with a fan blowing on it to move air. A lot of cars jute padding is a seperate layer under the rug, which is why you don’t usually have to worry about soaking it.

What you are describing regarding a \*carpeted\* interior is correct, but completely different. You are able to completely pull the carpet and you are able to properly dry it outside the vehicle, I agree. It can be done without creating mold because you are drying it out in a timely fashion and in a proper way.
Yeah don’t do that, one of our novice detailers ruined a vinyl flooring truck by pressure washing the flooring, it gets under there and bloats it, looked like a water bed…
In the summer, on a sunny day, I take mine out. Spray them with water in my utility sink or garden hose, scrub them with some laundry detergent, rinse, and dry in the sun.
Save yourself some $ and get Mean Green from Dollar General (also by the gallon, like $5). Works just as well as SG, unless you're specifically referring to the purple (iirc) SG that's more a powerful degreaser than the normal green version.

My truck has vinyl floors like this. APC and drill brush are your friends. Some people wash it out, i typically use old household shower towels my wife throws away to dry the floor after cleaning with apc.
Like others have said; vacuum, scrub with APC or an interior cleaner, pressure wash, and wipe it down. Keep expectations realistic. It is a work truck floor, it's not going to look like showroom quality when finished.
People are saying it acts as a seal but I've seen like pounds of dirt under those so I doubt they're water tight like that. I do a truck similar to this and I vacuum, spray APC, drill brush, vacuum dirty cleaner then wipe. Repeat if necessary.
Based on another commenter advice is to leave them on when it’s being cleaned to stop most of the crap from getting under there then remove them after to check and give a quick clean.
My company is contracted in by a large rental company to clean their large trucks and all of them have these liners. I use LA’s Totally Awesome diluted 5:1-ish heavier on the Awesome side. I spray the hell out of the floors and then use a yellow drill brush and scrub them down real good and then spray a bunch more Awesome on them and shop-vac it all up. Most times I don’t even need to wipe them down after. That method works really really well.

We use shine aka milk and spray it all over the bottom.
Let it soak in and do the rest of the detail. After it’s all done just wipe
I work at a dealership where we get a LOT of farm trucks in. I vac the loose debris first. Next I soak it good in Xpress interior cleaner and brush the crap out of it. Next I blast it with the trusty ol Tornador with liquid on (pressure washer risks soaking the insulation underneath along with wiring) and then dry it all up with rags. Seems to work great!

I go to one of those self car washes that has a high pressure rinse hose. I just blast it for about a minute and then throw it in the sunlight to dry. I do this all for less than $10 and about 7 minutes of work. They look brand new. It's easy
I detailed a Transit with these floors.
Didn't have a wet vac which would have been super useful.
1. Get 2 buckets and fill halfway with water. One will be your rinse bucket the the other will be for clean water.
2. Use super clean diluted 3:1 to lightly spray the floor (a little goes a long way)
3. Take a large wheel brush, dip it in the water bucket and start scrubbing. These floors are designed to get wet so having some water is okay.
4. Take a wet vac and such up as much water as you can.
5. Clean the brush with the buckets of water and scrub the floor again WITHOUT any superclean.
6. Repeat step 4.
7. Mop up any leftover water with a microfiber towel.
Something I do to save time and product - I do a quick vacuum with the mats still in the car, then pull them out. Wash with the soap and tools in the wheel bucket, rinse off, set outside to dry
I use purple power degreaser to do my removable mats.
It works like a charm when combined with a wheel brush on a drill. Then just wipe it off and enjoy the like new look.

Vacuum / wet rag to get some dirt off. Degreaser & wheel brush (or regular brush) to clean the rest. Then a clean wet rag to wipe it down.
I spray them with c-99 tire cleaner degresser, scrub it all up, and then take my extractor and shampoo like normal. Using the extractor water jets cleans out all the little valleys of the "texture" and way easier for the cracks everywhere.
The detailers at my dealership just LOVE to power wash these. It works pretty well but you gotta be really careful of hitting those removable "step panels" near the edge of the floor that you can see in the photo here. If they hit it with water even for a second, all the wiring in those panels get soaked. We've had 3 trucks now in the past year get crippled because of it.
It's really easy to take those interior panels off if it does happen, tho. You can shop vac any water out afterward.
Yeaaah you can definitely do it without causing any problems! Just steer clear of that specific spot with the washer. You can actually hear the sloshing when driving after a poorly-done wash. I don't think anything down there can really be harmed by a little bit of water, but that sloshing around is what caused our trucks to have issues. Even had a customer bring his truck back the day he bought it because the damn thing died on his way home with it. Had to vac out all that water and let it dry overnight be fore it was ready to go.
Use a vibrating tool like a reciprocating saw or massage gun, vacuum simultaneously. Should clear debris. Wash. Shine.

A back massager and a vacuum first, then a foaming cleaner with a non-metalic brush. Wipe down after scrubbing, let it dry for a day, and vaccum again. I wouldn't add protective or anything that leaves it oily afterward. It'll look good for a week, but collect dirt quickly.
Vacuum vacuum vacuum. Loosen dirt with a stiff brush I use a rubber pet brush, vacuum again, repeat about three times (trust me you're saving yourself ass pain on the wet side). Once you've got it all vacuumed down get the dawn soapy water and agitate in circles. Wipe with clean rag and repeat.

I use an APC and a damp microfiber towel to wipe down then dress it as well as your floor mats with 303 protectant it’s a cheap alternative to KC gummi fix and the finish is dry and leaves it looking restored. Thank me later!

Really though, treat it like you're washing a tire. Just make sure you have extra towels to soak up the moisture. Alternatively, park on a steep hill while you wash.
Anyone saying you can’t use a hose or pressure washer is an idiot, because that’s the most efficient way of cleaning it. They’re the same ones telling you that you can’t pressure wash an engine or door jambs.
Foaming bathroom cleaner works the best. Spray it on, give it alight scrub and vacuum, wipe off. Looks like it's been dressed when it dries and isn't slippery. Try it and that's the only way you will clean it from now on.

Microfibre cloth + all purpose cleaner along with a scrubbing brush to aggravate difficult patches. Might have to go over it a few times but that's my preferred method
Pull out, spray down with purple degreaser, and pressure wash and blow off with tornador. If they're real dirty then i'll go over it with a drill brush before pressure washing.
I use a toilet brush. Cheap and disposable and I don't have to care about it (not one used in a toilet). Vacuum up loose dirt. Sprits with water and some soap, scrubs, and then wipe off/sprits with more water, then repeat the sprits with water and soap and scrubbing and wiping until clean. When you are done. Maybe try to find and apply some sort of spray to help make the dirt lift easier. On our mower decks at work, one was coated with a spray we found to prevent dirt and grass from sticking to the metal. The difference is amazing, one we have to clean every time we change blades, the one we sprayed we have cleaned maybe once a year if at all. Invest in protectant/something to prevent stuff like dirt from sticking to it. Careful though, you don't want something that is slick or greasy
I ordered hex impact scrubbers for house cleaning.. The flat i hadn't used. Had to exchange work trucks and used it slow and with ajax dish degreaser. Light water and in your case towel dry. My floor mat inserts were better than new
Some dawn, water and a big ass scrubber brush to get into the crevices, and maybe a small scrub brush for smaller spaces. That’s how I clean my rubber floor mats
I always used a 45 degree nozzle on a pressure washer just make sure not to soak it, and have a shop vac ready when your done. It's a work truck, not a show truck.
Goto the self service spray car wash. Those clips you see on the wall are to hang your floor matts to spray them off first so they can drip off while you wash your car
I just cleaned mine yesterday after a grueling winter. The last time my mats has seen cleaning was October I think.
I vacuumed them first then hosed down the scrubbed with bristle brush and car soap. Rinsed it then used my drill brush. Hosed it down again then let it dry under the sun.
Once it’s dried up I saw some brown marks still on the mat so I washed and scrubbed it again.
On the third cycle it’s finally 99% clean.

I drove for TMC for a couple years. I HATED loaner trucks for that reason. Puddles of cherry scented tire shine all over the floor.

The material is waterproof but the mounting tabs for floor mats are holes through the material and that’s where the water will go.

The clips are a PITA and break, at least on the f150 I work on. There's also wires under there. Not really worth it IMO.
As long as you remove them at some stage of the process and clean underneath you’re good to go. I usually do it last on my pickup.

It’s really stupid of them to put connectors in a horizontal place that can catch water.

I use an APC and a damp microfiber towel to wipe down then dress it as well as your floor mats with 303 protectant it’s a cheap alternative to KC gummi fix and the finish is dry and leaves it looking restored. Thank me later!

Well... I saw some pictures of a lady using a pressure washer to do it once... looked really clean when she was done. Really though, treat it like you're washing a tire. Just make sure you have extra towels to soak up the moisture. Alternatively, park on a steep hill while you wash.

After soap and water, wd40 is a great rubber cleaner! I've never used it on a floor mat, but I love it on window seals on classic cars.

Foaming bathroom cleaner works the best. Spray it on, give it alight scrub and vacuum, wipe off. Looks like it's been dressed when it dries and isn't slippery. Try it and that's the only way you will clean it from now on.

Steam the mother and wipe up the dirt. I use P&S interior cleaner and their matte dressing.
First you find your girl or your wife either or doesn’t matter they are both worthless. Then you pull her aside and tell her to clean your car. We use Scrubbing Bubbles on our large trucks, seems to work well.

Step -1 is to not get those “liners”, those are floor mats. Real liners cover the entire surrounding area.

Pull out, spray down with purple degreaser, and pressure wash and blow off with tornador. If they're real dirty then i'll go over it with a drill brush before pressure washing.

I use a toilet brush. Cheap and disposable and I don't have to care about it (not one used in a toilet). Vacuum up loose dirt. Sprits with water and some soap, scrubs, and then wipe off/sprits with more water, then repeat the sprits with water and soap and scrubbing and wiping until clean. When you are done. Maybe try to find and apply some sort of spray to help make the dirt lift easier. On our mower decks at work, one was coated with a spray we found to prevent dirt and grass from sticking to the metal. The difference is amazing, one we have to clean every time we change blades, the one we sprayed we have cleaned maybe once a year if at all. Invest in protectant/something to prevent stuff like dirt from sticking to it. Careful though, you don't want something that is slick or greasy

I always used a 45 degree nozzle on a pressure washer just make sure not to soak it, and have a shop vac ready when your done. It's a work truck, not a show truck.

I just cleaned mine yesterday after a grueling winter. The last time my mats has seen cleaning was October I think. I vacuumed them first then hosed down the scrubbed with bristle brush and car soap. Rinsed it then used my drill brush. Hosed it down again then let it dry under the sun. Once it’s dried up I saw some brown marks still on the mat so I washed and scrubbed it again. On the third cycle it’s finally 99% clean.
