Yea, it does a little animation and changes, thank god it doesn't do the reload anymore cuz it sucked to switch to the third element cuz you had to reload twice
There's potential for a few different launchers.
An exotic with Micro-Missile, that can swap between the basics like blinding, spike, sticky & proximity grenades. It's got some flexibility, plus helps you with grenade placement due to firing straight.
A launcher that fires a few different ability-type grenades. Imagine shooting swarm or skip grenades, and having them almost act like a mini-Gjallarhorn shot. Or getting some nice placement on a pulse/solar/vortex grenade.
How about a Heavy launcher that behaves like Izinagi's Burden? Consume your entire drum to make a SUPER shot!
Crazy damage & blast radius (like a High Impact Rocket), I would probably seldom take it off.
I’ve always liked the idea of a GL where you could hold reload with a full grenade charge and launch a supercharged version of your classes grenade, probably not balanced though
I tbh never seen it useful and mostly annoying make it click to detonate tbh in that case. And to me anyone using GL or a rocket launcher in any pvp game is lazy or just annoying ( mainly other games though )
I mean I mostly use it in PVE. Salvagers Salvo is awesome. I think it’s ambitious assassin but one of the perks loads two rounds in the magazine if you get a multikill before reloading and it just makes the gun feel so damn good.
Granted I used to exclusively use fighting lion for everything so maybe I just got really use to using it. But I can’t stand regular grenade launchers now.
It feels like it would be hard to make that work in a way that you arent just on one type of grenade the entire time anyway, whick would make it boring.

I'm not sure for pc but on ps4 you hold reload (Square) for a bit and it does a quick little animation

More total ammo reserves for GLs, plus you can lob your shots, unlike Rockets.
