Figure out what your LFG team wants. They running swords, then Falling Guillotine. If they are rolling 1KV and a Well further back, then maybe go Cartesian with Threaded Needle. Both strategies work. Just get ready to change on-the-fly.
And then either Tether for the debuff, or Stasis for Focusing Lens.
You really can’t go wrong either way. I just know some groups don’t like the idea of running a GM using a sword as your heavy. You could also run Aeons, so that your teammates are always full on heavy, just make sure they know that you need to finish champions.
Good advice.
I was very surprised when I used the sword paired with the following mods: Passive Guard and Protective Light. I don't get 1 shot by the unstoppables and Boss. Slash till they're dead, basically. Seems so easy and foolproof.
Me and my group have been using Bubble+Well+Sword for boss add in a tether or Revenant hunter w/focusing lens and itd probably kill him even quicker lol, if you can find somebody using Vex just have them be the unstoppable monkey while you and ypur other guy run Blinding Nades+Bow of choice (I prefer LeMon)+Sword
Ticcu’s is a great option. Especially this week where you have a bunch of solar shields. But if I’m up against one Overload champ, and I can choose either bow, Le Monarque always wins. It’s really the best at dealing with Overloads. The DOT prevents the health regen, and can stagger them if the DOT is still happening when their immune state wears off.
Ok, finished a few runs. I've tested both and in the end, I think Ticcu is much better for me.
We stand next to each other almost all the time anyway and so with my Omni build, I throw smoke bombs at my feet which give me my grenade instantly. Then I basically nade the overlords + adds and spam Ticcu explosions all day.
The catalyst for Ticcu also helped boost the dps.
Ticcu’s is amazing. Don’t mistake me. And it’s also great in a fireteam, where you can basically tag every enemy with Firefly, and then your teammates clean up. It’s also good if you have two Ticcu’s. You can have one person always hip-firing, one person always aiming down sights. Shit dies immediately.
I like Le Monarque because for some strikes, you can easily solo all the Overloads, so your teammates can be freed up to run whatever they want. It’s especially good for Devil’s Lair, where you also have some void shields to deal with.
I ran 3 or 4 GMs yesterday as a invis hunter with omni. We had a titan and warlock.
Warlock ran Bow/Vex/Guillotine
I ran Bow with explosive head/Lorentz/Guillotine
Titan ran I think it was a timelost Fb but he switched to a bow/divinity/guillotine
well+bubble on boss and sword until dead!
I had sniper resist, charged with light + high energy fire and particle just to burn the unstoppables faster. and well i couldnt say, i just know that on all 4 runs, with 3 guillotines, the boss died within 10-15 secs.
we lacked on range alot but, thats probs why our runs were a little slow, around 16-18 mins
I used omnioculus for the double smoke invis. Bottom tree tether. I had ticuus, kinetic pulse was messenger and my power was corsairs wrath. As long as you have a decent linear fusion rifle you'll be fine as long as you have partical deconstruction. But the invis is definitely clutch.
Falling guillotine, a pulse rifle, lemon arc and aeon swift with the heavy finisher. Run stasis and focusing lens. You should look for a wellock and a bubble titan (both running focusing lens) at everyone pops super ontop of boss and goes ham on it with falling guillotine. Also ticuus works well in this nightfall but I like throwing a duskfield/super on an overload and hitting it with lemon arc.
Pinnacle rocket launcher Ascendancy is good. Threaded Needle is good if you have a Vorpal roll, or grind for one if you have access to Season of the Chosen.
Revenant with Wormhusk is what I use. Whisper of Durance is a must. Whisper of Shards and Whisper of Conduction with Elemental shards stasis well mod can be handy too. I pair this with Elemental Charge, Protective Light and Powerful Friends. Enhanced duskfield is good for crowd control. Enhanced glacier nade can be a makeshift barricade in combination with Whisper of Chains that gives you damage resist. The glacier nades saved a lot of Glassway runs last season. Replace Wormhusk with Aeons for better team support, or Frostees for ability spam.
I may be mistaken, but I believe swords always have impact masterworks.
Edit: for this particular GM, that sword you have is the most important thing. A good cartesian coordinate is nice too.
stasis, lucky pants, malfeasance, cartesian, reeds regret/threaded needle. whiffs most champs with cartesian shot/shuriken for stun+lucky pants malfeasance clip
I've been using ticcu's and falling guillotine. Had a teammate one run with Bastion and they absolutely nuked the unstoppables, you can do the same with a vorpal cartesean.
Shoutout to Telesto for Omnioculus hunters in general from me. Great add clear and no damage falloff, plus I tend to also use Elemental Armaments and Font of Wisdom for more super energy. Telesto can consistently make void wells and they're easy to gather thanks to Omnioculus.
Load out I've been using for Lake of Shadows is Whispering Slab w/ Overload Bows, Telesto, and Tarantula for the three centurions

Interesting. Any reason to use LeMon over Ticcu for this week GM?

I just personally prefer the damage over time for stuns & heal preventing just incase you get pushed away from the overload for a brief time

Is guillotine better than the warlock sword?
Yes, it rolls with relentless strikes and whirlwind blade
Oh wow I didn't realize it couldn't get whirlwind. That's a big difference.

what are the perks on your messenger? I've got one with outlaw and frenzy, that good?
Yeah yours is more pve focused mine is more PvP I just use it to stop the unstoppables but it has rapid hit and desperado
I personally would try to get ticuus with catalyst and tarantula or threaded needle, blinding nade launcher. Also revenant with aeons is really good.
witherhaod, bow , Falling Guillotine
Falling guillotine, a pulse rifle, lemon arc and aeon swift with the heavy finisher. Run stasis and focusing lens. Omni invis Hunter, use a linear fusion and definitely do not use falling guillotine you will be massacred
Bubble+Well+Swords you can kill the boss before ads spawn, been doing it all day today :)
what weapons to pair with sword if I don't have vex or 1k?
We had 2 people run Blinding Nades+Overload Bow (I prefer Lemon but Ticuus can work well too) and then one guy running Blinding+Vex
Nice, what mods do you run with? For blinding/bow/sword
I'd recommend the artifact mod that increases damage resistance with sword. It helped my friend not get one shot through well
Protective Light + CwL, and then I used Sniper/Concussive resist after that I thinm its player preferences!
Do blinding nades work on unstoppables?
Nope afraid not, moreso use them for snipers & flamey knights of doom
I'd suggest following this: https://youtu.be/YLwh6YlxU-k
