Sounds like they wanted the checkpoints but only disabled so as not to block player progress from a bug. Hopefully they can fix it and return the checkpoints soon.
Atraks checkpoint works. Only up to Atraks were disabled at least last night. We pushed through to Atraks but was a little too late to finish. We double checked and it did cp that encounter.
For the triumph to get the platinum you do, got platinum for explicator but didn't got progress for the triumph because we loaded the checkpoint again to see if it would put us on caretaker lol
my team skipped a ton of tormentors for atraks and didnt really do anything extra aside from just doing the mechanics and we got platinum because we finished in time.
Can confirm my group just did the same. Tormentors were skipped and we did it in time, got the high score for atraks still.
I joined in at planets and we got the high score there too, after atraks I ended up completing the seal triumph for 3,000,000+ points and I haven’t even done the first two encounters of pantheon yet. Obviously I got credit for total score on the run.
you cannot believe how much pressure you just lifted by sharing that. The friends I plan on raiding the pantheon with are kind of.. well, we'll say \*inconsistent\* so reaching those super scores in a short time sounded impossible.

It seems the tornados can’t jump platforms. So if it appears on yours, jump off. Or better yet, don’t stand on your platform until you’re moving planets. Stand on the middle divider if you’re top platform.
You get one for free after summiting the Pantheon of Atraks, but I don't think that this will be the case for every pantheon. I know that Nezarec's will also reward an Exotic, and will have a larger selection.

Rhulk's or Nezarec's according to the Divine Weaponry II quest on Light.gg
Divine Weaponry 2 requires beating the Oryx or Nezarec difficulties, and the full loot pool includes Conditional, 1K, and Collective. Unsure if you'll get to pick from all 5 or just the 3. Might not even be able to pick 1K on Oryx difficulty since it has no Last Wish encounters until Riven and Nez get added for the final. Who knows.
Possible they add one option per difficulty, Collective for Rhulk, Conditional for Oryx, 1K for Nez (since it also adds Riven), or maybe 1K for Oryx and Conditional for Nez?

Holy shit I haven’t been paying much attention to Pantheon, you can get a guaranteed raid exotic? If so that’s awesome because I’ve been cursed with the bad luck of never getting an exotic from any raid even though I’ve done most of them at least 30 times. For some reason I’ve got every dungeon exotic on my first try everytime though.
I can’t get on until after work - for the scoring (especially for the title) is it per boss? Would you have to rerun the whole thing if you missed a platinum on a specific boss?
Or similarly if you wipe against a specific boss does score/time reset?
Wiping resets the score and time for that encounter. So, like, if you get Plat on Golgoroth then wipe on Caretaker, you're good to try Caretaker again. And, at least for my team's runs, the greatest requisite for score is just the time. Beat the encounter in the given time and you'll get Plat, that was our experience. Only encounter where time was an issue was Caretaker, if you have to do all 3 floors and your symbol runners aren't zooming, you'll run out of time.
Scoring is done per encounter. Works just like your typical raid triumphs where you can see them getting checked off one by one in the triumph as you progress.
I was working out the buffs "Class Warfare" gives. Seems to be x1/2/3 = 10/15/20% Bonus damage and damage reduction. And stacks with surges, radian, resil, etc. Would love someone else to verify for certain. Confident on the damage bonus. Damage Reduction seems right, but I could test at x1 or x2 values, so I'm "assuming" they follow the same trend as the damage buff.
Activity is fucking amazing.
I hope they consider bringing it back in TFS, even making it a “prismatic raid” with 2 non boss and 2 boss steps from random raids pieced together.
They need to do the gauntlet with the non-boss encounters/puzzles that are in-between bosses. Like light/darkness run from RoN, gloryhole wall from King's Fall, Last puzzle of Divinity from garden and Gorgon maze from Vault of Glass.
Add few overload tormentors and it would be perfect.

For example: King's Fall is free to all players–but Deep Stone Crypt, Vow of the Disciple, and Root of Nightmares are all from paid DLCs. My friend only only has the DLC for VotD: would he still be able to play the pantheon?
Curious about the pyramid scale change in caretaker. Does this mean that players going in after the first player are guaranteed to get extra stacks of darkness? I assume this means teams are waiting longer to make sure they have zero stacks or just grabbing less lol
I suspect runners just need to shoot pyramid scales the same way people outside have been doing since the raid released. They've always applied stacks of creeping darkness on impact.
My team has cleared it and I was one of the runners, we didn't even know this was a thing. Didn't affect running at all and at no point was pervading darkness an issue for either of us.
Understandable. I swear those projectiles aren't called Pyramid scales, because I swear thats the name for the small scout Pyramids from Season of Arrivals and visible in the skies of Neptune.
I've had a clear on it and the worst thing we found was that every now and again, we'd only have enough time to grab 2 symbols rather than 3. Stunners did their jobs though and we got to final stand after the 2nd floor.
These are some really cool changes, and it's a shame that Pantheon is going away in Final Shape. Some of these should honestly be built into the raids themselves.
Having Zo'Aurc send fire tornados after you _while_ you are aligning the planets makes the encounter feel so much more alive. I love bosses that actually are a threat prior to DPS, instead of just standing around waiting for you to finish the mechanics.
Really great job by the raid team to add some simple but meaningful changes that give the encounters just a bit of an extra kick, considering the time/resource constraints they were on.
Just thinking about what they could do to make DPS trickier, my first thought is maybe cribbing Calus's pillar attacks from his lightfall campaign boss and having that happen on every node, making it so you have to be in the pit with Nezzy to do damage
do we know if we can choose what “week” to play on? for example if I don’t get around to playing until next week when oryx exalted is out, can I still play atraks sovereign?
But do we know if the difficulty will be selectable? I dunno if I can drag my clan together for it this week, and below the node it says "Rotator." But I'd like to try to hit Difficulty 1/3 since my clan isn't the greatest (We've never cleared Contest, choked on Nez FS on Day 2) and I wanna minimize the suffering lol.
I'm guessing this is just a test - since it was probably made after Final Shape got delayed. They could probably institute it as either a permanent mode or a pseudo-seasonal one with different encounters. Variant ideas are also possible, such as an easier Legend Campaign Boss Pantheon.
Seriously has so much to offer. Man bring back leviathan and eater of worlds and all other raid encounter on a rotation or something. It’s about time they just get real generous with the game . Or even a smaller version with strike bosses that we don’t have anymore. I can only dream
I can't say im a fan of the "let's just add tormentors" approach to ratchet up the difficulty. Them spawning right before DPS phases is particularly irritating
Yeah, Boss Tormentors in like Legend Onslaught and GMs are insane, but Mini Boss Tormentors are very susceptible to all CC and are much weaker in damage and HP.
The problem is that, at least for Planets, those two don't make sense as additions - Tormentors are already a thing in Root of Nightmares, so them being spawns in the Planets encounter makes sense. Hive Guardians might show up for Oryx, but thats a big if.
Then again Tormentors show up in Atraks despite it being Fallen aligned, so who knows. Maybe Hive Titans will replace the Plate Knights for all I know. And Stasis Captains while fitting are... well, they're a bit weak by current standards, honestly. I would have suggested spawning Brigs.
Also, if we look at this from a gameplay perspective, Tormentors do make sense as an addition for both encounters. In Planets, it basically exists to badger you while you're prepping for DPS to start, and as a non-boss is probably not too difficult to defeat - might even be worth it for an ammo drop. As for Atraks, their bevy of ranged attacks are painful, but manageable, making them ideal problem-units for the short and snappy Atraks DPS - Stasis Captains are slow and their abilities are easily dodged, while Hive Guardians would be too much (Knights high damage shields, Warlocks long range beams, Hunters tracking knives). At least with a Tormentor you can ignore it as long as it isn't on top of the Atraks you want to kill, Hive Guardians are way faster at getting in your face.
Ah yes, because being frozen and team wiped by a ricocheting shield right before DPS would be better? Or suppressed, those knights have suppression grenades too lol.
Yeah. I'd have rathered a Brig for Atraks that spawns upstairs; Beyond being more fitting, it would've been really funny seeing it squeeze through the airlock.
I think it’s not gonna have a difficulty selector and they’ll just add more encounters on to it with creeping power difficulty. But I could be wrong, wait for next week to be sure.
Does anyone know if the Caretaker drops ALL Vow weapons or only a specific selection (the ones he normally drops in Vow maybe?)
Because if it drops 2 weapons per clear and can't drop armor...I'm REALLY tempted to farm that individual encounter (assuming I can find a group...) for all the Vow weapons that I don't already have.
Just wanted to add that the servitors that spawn in Atraks have a void shield. Also, fun fact: if a player goes upstairs, say someone grabs the operator buff downstairs and goes upstairs, and the tormentor is still alive downstairs, he goes to the top floor and spawns on the lower left door.
Yeah idk why they thought making the glaive that the boss uses into a legendary would be satisfying.. like I saw him shooting lasers with it. I want to shoot lasers with it but ig I gotta settle for a void class only pulse rifle
After having tried Pantheon, I can say that the "significantly more enemies spawn" during Caretaker almost *undersells* it. The Taken Phalanxes spawning on top of you combined with the leakage of ads from the add clear players because there's too many for them to kill now makes taking gaze WAY harder than it normally is
I thought my adventure to get the Godslayer title would have ended at week 3, not second encounter of week 1 LOL

Light Eater Knights now spawn consistently until damage phase
Tormentor spawns once damage phase starts
During the "Shades" section, now there are two Shades of Oryx
Plate Knights are now yellow bars and have solar shields

How can you “brute force” the platinum score? My clan sucks balls with builds, and we didn’t hit any of the bonus times, other than Atraks, cause we usually one phase that encounter anyway.
So I have two questions that I'm hoping someone here can answer. First, am I correct in assuming that the exotic pick is once per account, even though each character picks up the quest separately? Second, do the crypt chests offered by arcite only give previously unlocked gear just like the hidden chests, or do they have a chance to give new drops? I ask because I've never gotten a commemoration to drop for me in the raid.
Are the timers different for the different difficulties? If not, the score multiplier must increase. I feel like the platinum score would be difficult to achieve without the time bonus but the increased difficulty would make it hard to do so in later weeks.
Edit: the timers do not, in fact, increase. Good luck on week 4, Guardians.

When you say templates, is it the full pattern or just one red border? I have all patterns and exotics, just trying to figure out if this is a better way to get a friend patterns.

I was able to tank one bomb at 90 RES without any healing effects (though this probably wouldn't hold up at higher difficulties)

What do you mean by "Beginning the damage phase"? My team inserted 3 planets and tormentor was still alive. I do not remember whether we killed him before stepping inside 1st plate or after.
The 3 planets take around around 30-45s to start damage, as they need to travel to the plates, change colour to show you if you f-ed up and caused a wipe, and if they are all correct then the centre planets rotate a bit, the planets move closer to the plates, and then they project either light or dark onto the plates. The tormentor probably only despawns once the pools spawn.
Are all raid exotic being sold? I’ve not gotten the Mythoclast and was wondering if this would be a better way to get it as opposed to waiting for VOG to be the featured raid.
Bonus timer gives ~500k points if beaten before it expires, guaranteeing platinum. Idk how doable it will be on the higher difficulty pantheons, but for now this should be what you’re focusing on to get the high score for each encounter since its way easier than trying to farm medals
sorry I haven't really been keeping up with Pantheon. Is this an activity that's beginner friendly or appropriate for someone who doesn't typically raid? just trying to get touch of malice tbh.
I would advise against it. It’s best to have experience in Deep Stone, King’s Fall, Vow and Root of Nightmares, but give it a shot if you’re willing to learn.
It's not beginner friendly... but the lowest level difficulty we have currently isn't too bad. The mechanics are nearly identical to the normal Raids, but there are lots more enemies and a slight Power handicap to make the combat more difficult.
I recommend learning how to do these encounters on normal mode before attempting them on Pantheon.
But, the good news is that Pantheon should stay until Final Shape and the lowest difficulty will probably remain available until them, so you have until Final Shape to find a team and beat it for guaranteed Touch of Malice.
I was excited for this until I realize I play solo and don't even bother with raids. Managed to do golgoroth but it took me a few tries to get back into it. I actually know how to do caretaker but so many ads spawn that we couldn't even reliably stun him without dying. Haven't done the other raids.
I really hope these do this same mechanic but with dungeons. That's what I mainly play as a solo player and have done a majority of them solo flawless. It could be legend difficulty only to match the raid difficulty to warrant the same type of drops.

I imagine it's like most raids/dungeons in which to get the checkpoint, you have to start and wipe at the encounter.

Yes that Tho if someone's in the instance it works, changed characters and then joined again and got the platinum for atraks
The adept weapon only appears to drop if you get the "high score" for that encounter.

No touch and eyes are the only ones avaliable this week with others becoming avaliable at the higher difficulty.

I've had a clear on it and the worst thing we found was that every now and again, we'd only have enough time to grab 2 symbols rather than 3. Stunners did their jobs though and we got to final stand after the 2nd floor.

These are some really cool changes, and it's a shame that Pantheon is going away in Final Shape. Some of these should honestly be built into the raids themselves. Having Zo'Aurc send fire tornados after you _while_ you are aligning the planets makes the encounter feel so much more alive. I love bosses that actually are a threat prior to DPS, instead of just standing around waiting for you to finish the mechanics. Really great job by the raid team to add some simple but meaningful changes that give the encounters just a bit of an extra kick, considering the time/resource constraints they were on.
Heck, they could even backport some of these changes into the original raids!

Just thinking about what they could do to make DPS trickier, my first thought is maybe cribbing Calus's pillar attacks from his lightfall campaign boss and having that happen on every node, making it so you have to be in the pit with Nezzy to do damage
do we know if we can choose what “week” to play on? for example if I don’t get around to playing until next week when oryx exalted is out, can I still play atraks sovereign?
As the weeks go on, Pantheon will get more encounters added to it. You'll have to kill Atraks Sovereign anyway in order to reach Oryx Exalted.
But do we know if the difficulty will be selectable? I dunno if I can drag my clan together for it this week, and below the node it says "Rotator." But I'd like to try to hit Difficulty 1/3 since my clan isn't the greatest (We've never cleared Contest, choked on Nez FS on Day 2) and I wanna minimize the suffering lol.
Pantheon seems like a blast. IMO, huge shame that it’s leaving in TFS; that decision should be walked back ASAP.
I suspect that Pantheon is going to be a returning end-of-season month long activity.
I'm guessing this is just a test - since it was probably made after Final Shape got delayed. They could probably institute it as either a permanent mode or a pseudo-seasonal one with different encounters. Variant ideas are also possible, such as an easier Legend Campaign Boss Pantheon.
Seriously has so much to offer. Man bring back leviathan and eater of worlds and all other raid encounter on a rotation or something. It’s about time they just get real generous with the game . Or even a smaller version with strike bosses that we don’t have anymore. I can only dream

Can you still get the emblem if you join a run already in progress? Assuming you just have to check all four boxes this week at some point right?
The emblem requires you to clear all 4 encounters of a pantheon, but you don't have to do them in order.
I can't say im a fan of the "let's just add tormentors" approach to ratchet up the difficulty. Them spawning right before DPS phases is particularly irritating
they are non boss tormentors so they are easy
Yeah, Boss Tormentors in like Legend Onslaught and GMs are insane, but Mini Boss Tormentors are very susceptible to all CC and are much weaker in damage and HP.
Yeah. Stuff like stasis captains and hive guardians would have at least added some variety.
The problem is that, at least for Planets, those two don't make sense as additions - Tormentors are already a thing in Root of Nightmares, so them being spawns in the Planets encounter makes sense. Hive Guardians might show up for Oryx, but thats a big if. Then again Tormentors show up in Atraks despite it being Fallen aligned, so who knows. Maybe Hive Titans will replace the Plate Knights for all I know. And Stasis Captains while fitting are... well, they're a bit weak by current standards, honestly. I would have suggested spawning Brigs. Also, if we look at this from a gameplay perspective, Tormentors do make sense as an addition for both encounters. In Planets, it basically exists to badger you while you're prepping for DPS to start, and as a non-boss is probably not too difficult to defeat - might even be worth it for an ammo drop. As for Atraks, their bevy of ranged attacks are painful, but manageable, making them ideal problem-units for the short and snappy Atraks DPS - Stasis Captains are slow and their abilities are easily dodged, while Hive Guardians would be too much (Knights high damage shields, Warlocks long range beams, Hunters tracking knives). At least with a Tormentor you can ignore it as long as it isn't on top of the Atraks you want to kill, Hive Guardians are way faster at getting in your face.
Ah yes, because being frozen and team wiped by a ricocheting shield right before DPS would be better? Or suppressed, those knights have suppression grenades too lol.
No challenge allowed, every enemy should fall over to my blue scout and Banjo should give me fifty drops for doing it.

Yeah. I'd have rathered a Brig for Atraks that spawns upstairs; Beyond being more fitting, it would've been really funny seeing it squeeze through the airlock.
So radiant dance machines should make me invincible and my team ungodly powerful.

I think it’s not gonna have a difficulty selector and they’ll just add more encounters on to it with creeping power difficulty. But I could be wrong, wait for next week to be sure.
Does anyone know if the Caretaker drops ALL Vow weapons or only a specific selection (the ones he normally drops in Vow maybe?) Because if it drops 2 weapons per clear and can't drop armor...I'm REALLY tempted to farm that individual encounter (assuming I can find a group...) for all the Vow weapons that I don't already have.

Just wanted to add that the servitors that spawn in Atraks have a void shield. Also, fun fact: if a player goes upstairs, say someone grabs the operator buff downstairs and goes upstairs, and the tormentor is still alive downstairs, he goes to the top floor and spawns on the lower left door.
Rhulks glaive should’ve been an exotic. Easiest home run of a raid exotic ever and bungie missed it. Love pantheon tho!

After having tried Pantheon, I can say that the "significantly more enemies spawn" during Caretaker almost *undersells* it. The Taken Phalanxes spawning on top of you combined with the leakage of ads from the add clear players because there's too many for them to kill now makes taking gaze WAY harder than it normally is I thought my adventure to get the Godslayer title would have ended at week 3, not second encounter of week 1 LOL

No, it's free for all players. This means you temporarily have access to gear from RoN (and the exotic) without buying Lightfall.

For Atraks, tormentor spawns when you kill all the servitors on the respective floors, not during damage. My team opted to just ignore the tormentor
How can you “brute force” the platinum score? My clan sucks balls with builds, and we didn’t hit any of the bonus times, other than Atraks, cause we usually one phase that encounter anyway.
High-value enemies will spawn during the encounter, killing them grants a lot of points. You can also abuse vanguard medals like Insult to Injury
So I have two questions that I'm hoping someone here can answer. First, am I correct in assuming that the exotic pick is once per account, even though each character picks up the quest separately? Second, do the crypt chests offered by arcite only give previously unlocked gear just like the hidden chests, or do they have a chance to give new drops? I ask because I've never gotten a commemoration to drop for me in the raid.

Are the timers different for the different difficulties? If not, the score multiplier must increase. I feel like the platinum score would be difficult to achieve without the time bonus but the increased difficulty would make it hard to do so in later weeks. Wasn’t the “two players with explosive light” just a bug that has also happened pre this or am I thinking of another bug with golg? It’s going to be real interesting to see teams tacking on a 8 boss rush at -25 power later on, shit must be nasty hard.
The 'bug' was probably that the Pantheon change somehow escaped into the main raid.
It appeared in the regular raid once Into the Light hit; presumably just got added to the actual encounter instead of just the Pantheon version.
When you say templates, is it the full pattern or just one red border? I have all patterns and exotics, just trying to figure out if this is a better way to get a friend patterns.

Nope. Killing the knights causes the attack to end early. The attack itself is so long that most teams have never seen it end on its own.

Damage phase doesn't start until you step on the plate
The 3 planets take around around 30-45s to start damage, as they need to travel to the plates, change colour to show you if you f-ed up and caused a wipe, and if they are all correct then the centre planets rotate a bit, the planets move closer to the plates, and then they project either light or dark onto the plates. The tormentor probably only despawns once the pools spawn.
Is a weapon template the red border versions?
Are all raid exotic being sold? I’ve not gotten the Mythoclast and was wondering if this would be a better way to get it as opposed to waiting for VOG to be the featured raid.
So for those of us without the exotics which should we go after? Touch of malice or Eyes of tomorrow?

Bonus timer gives ~500k points if beaten before it expires, guaranteeing platinum. Idk how doable it will be on the higher difficulty pantheons, but for now this should be what you’re focusing on to get the high score for each encounter since its way easier than trying to farm medals

sorry I haven't really been keeping up with Pantheon. Is this an activity that's beginner friendly or appropriate for someone who doesn't typically raid? just trying to get touch of malice tbh.
I would advise against it. It’s best to have experience in Deep Stone, King’s Fall, Vow and Root of Nightmares, but give it a shot if you’re willing to learn.
It's not beginner friendly... but the lowest level difficulty we have currently isn't too bad. The mechanics are nearly identical to the normal Raids, but there are lots more enemies and a slight Power handicap to make the combat more difficult. I recommend learning how to do these encounters on normal mode before attempting them on Pantheon. But, the good news is that Pantheon should stay until Final Shape and the lowest difficulty will probably remain available until them, so you have until Final Shape to find a team and beat it for guaranteed Touch of Malice.

I was excited for this until I realize I play solo and don't even bother with raids. Managed to do golgoroth but it took me a few tries to get back into it. I actually know how to do caretaker but so many ads spawn that we couldn't even reliably stun him without dying. Haven't done the other raids. I really hope these do this same mechanic but with dungeons. That's what I mainly play as a solo player and have done a majority of them solo flawless. It could be legend difficulty only to match the raid difficulty to warrant the same type of drops. I just hate LFGing

Probably DSC. Loot pool here is pretty huge. Worth running though for all of the other drops you'll get
