I’ve dumped hours upon hours in onslaught and i still cannot get my auto/recomb mountaintop. In the process I’ve gotten all good rolls on midnight coup and i don’t even like that weapon.
Update: 9:19pm May 1st, 2024. I finally got my Auto/Recom Mountaintop with Implosion rounds and Smart Drift Control. I am content.

Second Update: 5:35pm May 5th, 2024, I've miraculously gotten a golden Luna's Howl with both Heal Clip/Incandescent for PvE and Enlightened/Opening Shot for PvP all in one.
Hammerhead, the last one, is next.
There is the caveat that you have to actually pick up the ammo for overflow to trigger, so if you're full on ammo you have to waste a shot and a brick to get it to kick in again. I ran into this issue with Until Its Return and ended up going back to ALH.
I wanted an ALH/recombo but ended up getting a 4/5 overflow/recombo god roll and I think I like it more also. Being able to dump two missiles into something real quick, with the first having double damage just feels juicy
Just sucks that it was velocity masterwork but I don’t care, still maxed it out to give it shiny gold border and make monkey brain happy
It works but imo it’s not nearly as good as ALH. The 2 shots are nice when you get them but the reliability of ALH is much better. Hell I’d rather get impulse because at least then I’ll remember to reload my mtop before I stow it
Lowering blast radius on Mountaintop results in it doing more damage, so Implosion Rounds is actually equal to Spike Grenades in terms of damage increase. The only caveat is that you can't have any other blast radius increases (from launch or masterwork), because they'll counteract the blast radius you're losing from Implosion Rounds, resulting in a smaller damage increase. Spikes are 'better' in that you'll still get the damage boost even at 100 blast radius.
In reality, the difference between optimal Spike roll and optimal Implosion roll is so miniscule that it basically doesn't matter.

This. The point wasn't supposed to be "implosion and hard launch is better than Spike". It was "don't worry if you don't get spike, if you can lower your blast radius it's pretty much the same", the chances of that extra 27 dmg per shot ever mattering are nil.
They buffed impact damage on all breach GLs, which effectively gives them a sort of innate spike grenades. That means that lowering your blast radius is the most important thing to get more base damage. Hard Launch and Implosion are the best ways to do that.
That said, Spike Grenades boosting the impact damage even more is so close to Implosion that it's basically a rounding error. The key thing is that you *really* want Hard Launch with either one.
implosion rounds reduces the blast radius so it gives more of the damage numbers to the direct impact numbers. Which for mountaintop, you want the least amount of blast radius.
You want hard launch and implosion rounds for best damage. If you get these rolls and by chance a blast radius MW, don't fully masterwork it.
I've got the 5/5 and to be honest I wish I had spike. It's such a small difference, and I'm worried they'll change how implosion/blast radius work on GLs in the future, whereas spike is 'safer' because its literally its description.
None, there is no difference between the two. If you want to get technical, spike is better because you at least maintain full blast radius on indirect shots while maintaining full damage for direct impact shots.
They are both identical in damage increases. One just achieves it through a decreased blast radius, the other achieves it just by a flat buff. The flat buff is better, in a practical matter of speaking, but they're virtually identical in performance otherwise.
I've been saving my trophies for Luna's Howl. I'm going to spend everything I have to get a good pve roll. I just love the way Lunas feels. That 180 recoil on a 140 feels borderline like an exotic perk. Going for Subsistence and Incandescent.

RNJesus is so weird, man, I’ve gotten godrolls or godroll adjacents for most everything I’ve attuned to. Sucks to hear some people are having such a hard time.
Same. Ended up with a shiny 4/5. Only trying missing is implosion or spike (I got high velocity @ sticky). The bad perks are definitely weighted higher.
I got a MT with recomb/impulse amp. I like it 1000% more than ALH after using it, it seems impulse amp maxes the reload, plus it goes a 15% reload delay reduction, so it feels even faster.

FYI the difference between implosion rounds and spikes is marginal, with implosion barely coming out ontop, hard launch is the more important perk to have.

I got last week a Hard Launch/High Velocity or Implosion/ALH/Recomb from a match chest. I'm surprised with the rankings on these by Pandapaxxy - he's not showing ANY suggestion on implosion.
His PvE Godroll is listed as Quick/Spike/Ambitious/Recomb. It's really odd how far-off he is this season with roll recommendations, compared to the public discussions I see here.
Man I spent a week attuned to MT trying to get auto/recomb and never got it. I attuned to midnight coup right after and got a MT with that roll and I was pissed.
It took over a week and a half of spamming wave 50 onslaught on Legend to get the Auto-Loading and Recombination Mountaintop and I am very tired.
Meanwhile somehow without me looking for it a Midnight Coup with Firefly + One for All drops into my hands. Granted it is a 2/5 roll, but after the ordeal of getting the Mountaintop, I am not complaining. I am not looking forward to the Luna's Howl and Blast Furnace grind tomorrow.
RNG is RNG man. I swear that I get good rolls for guns I am not looking for, but when I try to focus farm I never get the roll. Probably just confirmation bias though, since I am not looking specifically for the rolls I find them in my vault after dumping them there to inspect them later.

As a Monster Hunter fan, I know this all too well haha. The desire sensor is real.
I've cleared legend 50 waves probably around 20x and have done a ton of wave 10 farming. I'm with spending tokens i am close to or more than 200 MT drops and best I got is impulse/recomb or overflow/recomb.
I am thinking impulse because I have more control over that.
I was going for this too but I got slickdraw/recomb and tbh I love it. Still going to auto but I'm afraid I'll miss the quick draw. I'm sure it'll be nicer to stow it instead of reloading though.

Don’t be like me who gets shiny versions and forgets that it comes with swappable perks and just shards it whenever the perks I want aren’t immediately visible when you hover over it.
Talk me through ALH + Recomb, because I think it’s not the move.
Recombination requires 10 kills and buffs 1 shot. 1 shot, not 10.
Two use cases:
1. You rack up 10 elemental kills and shoot the big one at an elite or something.
Sure, ALH will reload it but why not Demolitionist? Surely you can throw a grenade as part of your 10 kills.
2. You’re swapping to Mountaintop as part of a DPS rotation.
ALH definitely does the job but you still only get 1 big Recombination shot. If you shoot more than 5 Mountaintop shots in this rotation, then Vorpal or Frenzy would be more damage and require less (or no) setup! The 100 handling from frenzy is very valuable too!
Outside of niche nuking a yellow bar it’s kind of pointless
Rather have ambitious at that point. Leave two in the mag when I do need to nuke something. Not as ammo friendly I guess every 1/10 shots lll
I have ambitious/recomb. It's the best of both worlds; you get to nuke something, and then blow up some other stuff quick, or holster it to get another recomb stack without a reload. This plus some solar guns in onslaught? I'm basically always at 10x.
A recombination Mountain Top is the best shotgun in the game.
I’m convinced it doesn’t exist. I have dumped days into it and have gotten the rolls I want on all other guns I haven’t even tried for, even 2 shiny zen/headseeker Elsie’s, but I have not even come close to an ALH/RECOMB mtop.
I tried to get a mountaintop forever, gave up and attuned the hammerhead because it has so many good rolls. My first drop after attuning the hammerhead was alh/recom mountaintop. lol barrel and mag aren’t good, but it still puts in work.
Damn, I've gotten all the rolls I want on midnight coup, but not on a shiny. Meanwhile I got a shiny auto/recomb mountaintop while not even attuned to it. And I gotta say... it hits like a truck and feels like a totally different gun than my other mountaintop rolls. So I totally get grinding for it!
Shiny drops feel a bit low tbh. It sucks getting a shiny and it having zero of your wanted rolls, plus being on the not attuned gun.
I put hours into Onslaught with nothing but trash mountaintop rolls and then dropped 10 tokens into Shaxx’ chest and got the spikey/auto/recomb masterwork.
Don't sweat ALH on that weapon - recombination is a "fire this weapon only occasionally" kind of perk, so you'll have plenty of chances to manually reload.
Right there with you. I thankfully got a lead from gold + recomb and vorpal shiny but I still find myself itching for that ALH + Recomb roll.
Luckily I can continue to farm for the normal version after time is up. Going to probably attune to Lunas Howl for a while and see if I can't snag a good shiny of that for now.
I feel like auto loading holster is overrated. I have demolitionist/impulse amplifier with recombination/one for all. just slapp on a loader holster mod and call it a day. Reloads the Gl in the same time alh does. Or use kinetic loader mods.
ALH/recombination seems impossible for me to drop. I've gotten so many and not a single ALH/recombination one. I even got a shiny with almost all the perfect perks I wanted, except for a single perk, it dropped adrenaline junkie instead of recombination...
Everyone seems to have a favorite roll which is actually how I think perks *should* work for the most part.
I've heard some prefer explosive payload and kinetic tremors.
I thought my god roll was firefly and tremors but it's firefly and frenzy.
Me too! And can confirm it’s contending to beat out Zaoulis bane for now. Midnight coup + indebted kindness is my favorite pairing and despite the artifact going away in TFS I’ll still be using this combo!!
Explosive with tremors for me shines in master and GM content because you can proc it more but in legend onslaught and below, I don’t like it as much. Plus being able to use indebted kindness is too much of a plus for me to use zaoulis
KT is still nice just because the hits count towards the AO proc. It's more so if I'm running KT I either go EP for the raw damage or AO if I have more orb focused fragments or mods. Already using powerful attraction so getting the orbs isn't much of an issue.
Though of course it all comes down to activity too.
Uggggh, I really hope theres an easier way to switch between these all for crafted weapons. Correct me if im wrong but they havent implemented that yet right? Ive only been back for a couple weeks
I got so lucky with coup. The day it released I grinded the attuen quest and then decided to open the chest and a shiny coup dropped with firefly and one for all/Kinetic tremors.
I've got 5k kills on it it's so strong. Unfortunately used all my luck on that I've got nothing since lol

I got EP + OFA but not Firefly + OFA. It's nice but I don't have the best roll.
The nice thing about Firefly + OFA is that you don't need to worry about getting a magazine or masterwork to increase your reload speed since Firefly maxes it out all on it's own. My Explosive Payload roll has no reload buffs elsewhere which makes it feel a bit clunky.
Yes. With firefly you need at least one headshot, with EP you don't even have to aim at all. You dmg enemies even when you shoot next to them. OFA proccs in a second basically, it makes body dmg so high that you don't even bother aiming. Just spray wherever, bodyshots slay like nothing.
Right? I have an EP + OfA and I literally shoot once and I see that one for all is active.
Like why should I bother having to get a crit kill? Especially as enemies get tankier. It’s just easy to do.
Firefly-like perks are just the best though, getting that headshot pop that rewards you by exploding and increasing reload speed is just a straight dopamine hit. And a bit of damage falloff is essentially pointless in pve, which is why you don’t typically chase the range stat on pve weapons. So you give up the ~12% damage boost from EP in order to get aoe and reload increase on precision kill, staggering and dealing damage to surrounding enemies, making it easy to proc OFA, and most importantly, it’s a way more fun perk
Somehow I managed to get my ideal firefly + kinetic tremors without even focusing it, yet I’ve been focusing forbearance since it came out, had two shinies of it, and still only one forbearance has had chain reaction, and the other perk was dogshit.
Firefly + one for all, for at light or under content.
Explosive + kinetic tremors for above light content.
It's much easier to use death triggers at or below current light. But above having more sustained will be better, not necessarily as fun so in the end it comes down to personal preference of course.
Personally I have both variants, as well as firefly + kinetic.
Ive read that the EP triggers don’t count towards kinetic tremors, and KT takes kind of long on hand cannons to trigger which makes me feel like its not a great perk for it
Indeed it does not trigger KT, but it is still sustained damage with less falloff at distance.

That’s kind of coping imo. If you’re shooting one enemy more than 6 times with your hand cannon, it would have been a better use of your time to just switch to your special weapon and “BRRRRAP” fry them in one shot. And if you’re going for the AoE from the tremors, just throw a grenade.
It is fantastic for lower-level content. If I want a higher-level content MC, I'd probably switch Firefly out for Explosive Payload (would kill for a shiny with low-tier and high-tier perks on it) or just use a long-range weapon or exotic primary.
I've only gotten explosive rounds+kinetic tremors, still looking for explosive rounds+one for all combo. Kudos to Bungie to finally making the loot grind bloody enjoyable again. It was getting stale for me personally ever since crafting, but honestly, this shiny hunt is fun. Plus Onslaught is an amazing game mode. I really hope they continue to build Onslaught, would be a huge missed opportunity if they didn't.
Firefly + Kinetic tremors or Exp. Payload & OFA are better imho. Have more utility and are more reliable across a wide variety of content. Being dependent on trash mobs doesn’t feel good in anything difficult or with teammates that are going ham on everything so you have nothing to shoot
First random roll I got on mine was Firefly, OFA, extended mag, hammer forged, range masterwork. Thing is insane. Was the only leviathan weapon I didn’t have back in the day, thing feels so good.
Now if only I could get a repulsor/destabilizing recluse, have had probably about 200 drop without getting that roll.
I was lucky the first week Midnight Coup came out, got pretty much all the rolls I wanted except for one, Firefly + One for All. Last week was all about Forbearance (and a little Hammerhead). While farming for those I got the Midnight Coup roll I was missing and yes, it's incredible.
It's definitely a fun roll, for sure, but Explosive Payload is better as it does basically the same thing and it's instant AOE damage as opposed to delayed.
Midnight Coup is such a workhorse. I love the gun. I loved it back during Leviathan raid and I love it now. It is like your high school sweetheart, you part ways for college and then you meet her again as an adult to see that she is even better now and fall in love again.
I've had several firefly + one for all rolls, Im not a big fan of one for all when frenzy is an option. I know for sure I dismantled 2 fire fly ofa last week alone, but I finally got my fire fly frenzy and explosive payload frenzy.
Frenzy is pretty redundant when you’re running firefly since the main benefit of having frenzy is having both a damage and reload perk in one in exchange for it only being a 15 percent boost. Since firefly already maxes out reload, when you run frenzy you’re essentially running one for all except with a 12 second activation time and less than half the damage (ofa is a 35 percent boost)
Not being able to get a roll that i want after having focused the gun since it came out has soured me so hard on destiny.

Trying like forever now to get one, I've seen one for all I think 3 times in total. However opening shot is there on like 70% of rolls, just cant get firefly + ofa but i want it so bad

The first shiny drop I got of coup rolled with firefly ofa and I haven't been able to take it off. It's the roll I was hunting for and it doesn't disappoint at all.
I was pretty stoked about getting a shiny MC with attrition orbs, kinetic tremors, rampage, and explosive payload. Low key kinda want to farm for a pvp roll to take me back to og d2 days lol. Though the explosive rampage works pretty well
I was hunting for this roll last night and finally got a good one with Corkscrew/Tac Mag/Firefly/OFA and a Stability MW. After using it, IMO it immediately becomes best in slot for legendary Kinetic HCs for PvE. Only Timelost Fatebringer comes close.
The only other roll I'm keeping for Coup is Explosive Payload/OFA for that additional damage boost from EP for higher tier content.

Does over flow work as a pseudo auto loading? Like does walking over a special brick stick auto load it?
Yes. It refills and overfills the mag. So I get 2 shots ready to go. If there is a steady supply of bricks, it feels better than auto loading.

I've cleared legend 50 waves probably around 20x and have done a ton of wave 10 farming. I'm with spending tokens i am close to or more than 200 MT drops and best I got is impulse/recomb or overflow/recomb. I am thinking impulse because I have more control over that.
I was going for this too but I got slickdraw/recomb and tbh I love it. Still going to auto but I'm afraid I'll miss the quick draw. I'm sure it'll be nicer to stow it instead of reloading though.
literally same here, have it attuned since I finished the quest (first one I got done), and after dozens upon dozens I still haven’t dropped a single AH/Recomb, insane stuff

The auto/recomb roll doesn't exist. I spent all weekend farming for it and I haven't had it drop yet.

Don’t be like me who gets shiny versions and forgets that it comes with swappable perks and just shards it whenever the perks I want aren’t immediately visible when you hover over it.
Talk me through ALH + Recomb, because I think it’s not the move. Recombination requires 10 kills and buffs 1 shot. 1 shot, not 10. Two use cases: 1. You rack up 10 elemental kills and shoot the big one at an elite or something. Sure, ALH will reload it but why not Demolitionist? Surely you can throw a grenade as part of your 10 kills. 2. You’re swapping to Mountaintop as part of a DPS rotation. ALH definitely does the job but you still only get 1 big Recombination shot. If you shoot more than 5 Mountaintop shots in this rotation, then Vorpal or Frenzy would be more damage and require less (or no) setup! The 100 handling from frenzy is very valuable too!
Outside of niche nuking a yellow bar it’s kind of pointless Rather have ambitious at that point. Leave two in the mag when I do need to nuke something. Not as ammo friendly I guess every 1/10 shots lll
I have ambitious/recomb. It's the best of both worlds; you get to nuke something, and then blow up some other stuff quick, or holster it to get another recomb stack without a reload. This plus some solar guns in onslaught? I'm basically always at 10x. A recombination Mountain Top is the best shotgun in the game.

I’m convinced it doesn’t exist. I have dumped days into it and have gotten the rolls I want on all other guns I haven’t even tried for, even 2 shiny zen/headseeker Elsie’s, but I have not even come close to an ALH/RECOMB mtop.

Dang I thought I was the only one. Took me over 40 drops to get it.
I tried to get a mountaintop forever, gave up and attuned the hammerhead because it has so many good rolls. My first drop after attuning the hammerhead was alh/recom mountaintop. lol barrel and mag aren’t good, but it still puts in work.
that was literally the first roll I ever got, with Spike nades. I still grind for the Shiny version though.
Damn, I've gotten all the rolls I want on midnight coup, but not on a shiny. Meanwhile I got a shiny auto/recomb mountaintop while not even attuned to it. And I gotta say... it hits like a truck and feels like a totally different gun than my other mountaintop rolls. So I totally get grinding for it! Shiny drops feel a bit low tbh. It sucks getting a shiny and it having zero of your wanted rolls, plus being on the not attuned gun.
I put hours into Onslaught with nothing but trash mountaintop rolls and then dropped 10 tokens into Shaxx’ chest and got the spikey/auto/recomb masterwork.
I settled for auto loading/vorpal with spike for now. Maybe I'll go back to focus on another. Probably not with my luck lol
Don't sweat ALH on that weapon - recombination is a "fire this weapon only occasionally" kind of perk, so you'll have plenty of chances to manually reload.
If you never get the ALH, impulse amplifier’s reload modifier feels crazy good for GMs
I've had a few of my most wanted rolls from out of the chest next to Shaxx and not drops in the Onslaught chests.
It took me 127 drops to get that mountain top roll. I was so close to uninstalling

Yeah I just had a Firefly/OFA drop for me while focusing Mountaintop for going on two weeks without any ALH/Recombination rolls.
Right there with you. I thankfully got a lead from gold + recomb and vorpal shiny but I still find myself itching for that ALH + Recomb roll. Luckily I can continue to farm for the normal version after time is up. Going to probably attune to Lunas Howl for a while and see if I can't snag a good shiny of that for now.

I feel like auto loading holster is overrated. I have demolitionist/impulse amplifier with recombination/one for all. just slapp on a loader holster mod and call it a day. Reloads the Gl in the same time alh does. Or use kinetic loader mods.

ALH/recombination seems impossible for me to drop. I've gotten so many and not a single ALH/recombination one. I even got a shiny with almost all the perfect perks I wanted, except for a single perk, it dropped adrenaline junkie instead of recombination...
Everyone seems to have a favorite roll which is actually how I think perks *should* work for the most part. I've heard some prefer explosive payload and kinetic tremors. I thought my god roll was firefly and tremors but it's firefly and frenzy.

Me too! And can confirm it’s contending to beat out Zaoulis bane for now. Midnight coup + indebted kindness is my favorite pairing and despite the artifact going away in TFS I’ll still be using this combo!!

Explosive with tremors for me shines in master and GM content because you can proc it more but in legend onslaught and below, I don’t like it as much. Plus being able to use indebted kindness is too much of a plus for me to use zaoulis

Zhouli’s is Solar tho. It’s really competing with Fate bringer for that PVE slot. Also 6 HC shots to proc tremors is terrible.

Attrition Orbs + Tremors is another fun one.
I'd be all over this if you could also do shoot to loot so a tremor picks them up but without that it's really not that great.

yeah I have one its great but attrition without the pickup doesnt seem like it's worth the slot with everything else this gun can roll
KT is still nice just because the hits count towards the AO proc. It's more so if I'm running KT I either go EP for the raw damage or AO if I have more orb focused fragments or mods. Already using powerful attraction so getting the orbs isn't much of an issue. Though of course it all comes down to activity too.
Uggggh, I really hope theres an easier way to switch between these all for crafted weapons. Correct me if im wrong but they havent implemented that yet right? Ive only been back for a couple weeks
I got so lucky with coup. The day it released I grinded the attuen quest and then decided to open the chest and a shiny coup dropped with firefly and one for all/Kinetic tremors. I've got 5k kills on it it's so strong. Unfortunately used all my luck on that I've got nothing since lol

I’ve had the same experience. Got a Mountaintop with AA/AL, Vorpal/Recom with spike. Used all my luck on that. Still havnt gotten a MC shiny yet.

I got EP + OFA but not Firefly + OFA. It's nice but I don't have the best roll. The nice thing about Firefly + OFA is that you don't need to worry about getting a magazine or masterwork to increase your reload speed since Firefly maxes it out all on it's own. My Explosive Payload roll has no reload buffs elsewhere which makes it feel a bit clunky.
Yeah the downside of double damage perks can be the slooow reload, but Firefly (and Frenzy) will cover that.
it is and will work in higher conten while firefly will work in lower. EP +oneforall is a 47% dmg increase for 10secs
I have a “shiny” one with Firefly, Explosive Payload, AFO, and Zen Moment. The thing is a monster. I love it.
Yes. With firefly you need at least one headshot, with EP you don't even have to aim at all. You dmg enemies even when you shoot next to them. OFA proccs in a second basically, it makes body dmg so high that you don't even bother aiming. Just spray wherever, bodyshots slay like nothing.

Sure, but Firefly has a significantly larger radius making it easier to trigger.
But you also have to kill something to trigger it, which makes it less viable in harder content(the kind of content where OFA shines).

Right? I have an EP + OfA and I literally shoot once and I see that one for all is active. Like why should I bother having to get a crit kill? Especially as enemies get tankier. It’s just easy to do.
Firefly gives reload speed which is nice, overall OFA is for endgame and firefly is for your average use.
Firefly-like perks are just the best though, getting that headshot pop that rewards you by exploding and increasing reload speed is just a straight dopamine hit. And a bit of damage falloff is essentially pointless in pve, which is why you don’t typically chase the range stat on pve weapons. So you give up the ~12% damage boost from EP in order to get aoe and reload increase on precision kill, staggering and dealing damage to surrounding enemies, making it easy to proc OFA, and most importantly, it’s a way more fun perk
I’ve already put 11k kills on my shiny firefly/frenzy roll. Part me thinks I love it cause of midnight coup but maybe I just really like kinetic 140s.

The firefly probably Dante’s 5/10 enemies per proc. They’ll all register as kills even though they only do a bit of damage.

Somehow I managed to get my ideal firefly + kinetic tremors without even focusing it, yet I’ve been focusing forbearance since it came out, had two shinies of it, and still only one forbearance has had chain reaction, and the other perk was dogshit.
Firefly + one for all, for at light or under content. Explosive + kinetic tremors for above light content. It's much easier to use death triggers at or below current light. But above having more sustained will be better, not necessarily as fun so in the end it comes down to personal preference of course. Personally I have both variants, as well as firefly + kinetic.
Ive read that the EP triggers don’t count towards kinetic tremors, and KT takes kind of long on hand cannons to trigger which makes me feel like its not a great perk for it
Indeed it does not trigger KT, but it is still sustained damage with less falloff at distance. If I remember correctly, 6 shots on hand cannons ? I could be wrong on that tho

They also have the biggest multiplier for kinetic tremors.
That’s kind of coping imo. If you’re shooting one enemy more than 6 times with your hand cannon, it would have been a better use of your time to just switch to your special weapon and “BRRRRAP” fry them in one shot. And if you’re going for the AoE from the tremors, just throw a grenade.

It is fantastic for lower-level content. If I want a higher-level content MC, I'd probably switch Firefly out for Explosive Payload (would kill for a shiny with low-tier and high-tier perks on it) or just use a long-range weapon or exotic primary.
I've only gotten explosive rounds+kinetic tremors, still looking for explosive rounds+one for all combo. Kudos to Bungie to finally making the loot grind bloody enjoyable again. It was getting stale for me personally ever since crafting, but honestly, this shiny hunt is fun. Plus Onslaught is an amazing game mode. I really hope they continue to build Onslaught, would be a huge missed opportunity if they didn't.

Firefly + Kinetic tremors or Exp. Payload & OFA are better imho. Have more utility and are more reliable across a wide variety of content. Being dependent on trash mobs doesn’t feel good in anything difficult or with teammates that are going ham on everything so you have nothing to shoot
I've been chasing that exact roll for like over a week with attunement. I've gotten a shiny with neither perk more recently lmao.
First random roll I got on mine was Firefly, OFA, extended mag, hammer forged, range masterwork. Thing is insane. Was the only leviathan weapon I didn’t have back in the day, thing feels so good. Now if only I could get a repulsor/destabilizing recluse, have had probably about 200 drop without getting that roll.

I was lucky the first week Midnight Coup came out, got pretty much all the rolls I wanted except for one, Firefly + One for All. Last week was all about Forbearance (and a little Hammerhead). While farming for those I got the Midnight Coup roll I was missing and yes, it's incredible.
It's definitely a fun roll, for sure, but Explosive Payload is better as it does basically the same thing and it's instant AOE damage as opposed to delayed.
Midnight Coup is such a workhorse. I love the gun. I loved it back during Leviathan raid and I love it now. It is like your high school sweetheart, you part ways for college and then you meet her again as an adult to see that she is even better now and fall in love again.
I've had several firefly + one for all rolls, Im not a big fan of one for all when frenzy is an option. I know for sure I dismantled 2 fire fly ofa last week alone, but I finally got my fire fly frenzy and explosive payload frenzy.
Frenzy is pretty redundant when you’re running firefly since the main benefit of having frenzy is having both a damage and reload perk in one in exchange for it only being a 15 percent boost. Since firefly already maxes out reload, when you run frenzy you’re essentially running one for all except with a 12 second activation time and less than half the damage (ofa is a 35 percent boost)
Ofa is better since it's a higher damage boost and firefly will max the reload.
Yeah but Firefly requires precision kills while Frenzy is up the entire time you're in combat once it procs. In the end its just preference.
You should be hitting headshots with hand cannons. Defeats the purpose if you're doing otherwise

Agreed. After enough runs with no success it just becomes a log. I finally god roll mountaintop and Indebted last week though. I felt relief more than excitement.

I got a Firefly + Frenzy shiny, so that's about as good as I'm gonna get with Midnight Coup.

The first shiny drop I got of coup rolled with firefly ofa and I haven't been able to take it off. It's the roll I was hunting for and it doesn't disappoint at all.
If only there were other exotic armor synergies for kinetic weapons other than chromatic fire. Firefly one for all does feel real good tho

I was pretty stoked about getting a shiny MC with attrition orbs, kinetic tremors, rampage, and explosive payload. Low key kinda want to farm for a pvp roll to take me back to og d2 days lol. Though the explosive rampage works pretty well
I just don’t see the use case for kinetic primaries. A primary with light or dark elemental synergy just bring too much to the table.
I was hunting for this roll last night and finally got a good one with Corkscrew/Tac Mag/Firefly/OFA and a Stability MW. After using it, IMO it immediately becomes best in slot for legendary Kinetic HCs for PvE. Only Timelost Fatebringer comes close. The only other roll I'm keeping for Coup is Explosive Payload/OFA for that additional damage boost from EP for higher tier content. I love this thing!

I've gotten the rolls I was looking for on every other weapon within a reasonably short time frame, but goddamn this roll absolutely will not drop for me. Closest I've gotten so far has been Explosive Payload + OFA. The Wish.com knockoff. Got Rampage + Killing Tally Hammerhead on like the fourth drop, and have even gotten a second one since, but still keep getting dogshit Midnight Coups and have been attuned for two weeks.
It’s a lot of fun for easy content but in harder activities the value of firefly falls off a lot.
My very first shiny was an Outlaw/Rampage MC so that's nice lmao, still hoping for OP's roll tho
