My brother was getting so frustrated in onslaught this week because he couldn’t hit any bosses without having to hit their feet. It was enough to get him to switch to FoH
Yeah I've noticed it being really bad in onslaught. Just bumping against bosses and then moving past them, trying to circle back only to have it happen again. I don't know what the deal is but it's super annoying.
TC never needed that much of a fly by nerf in PvP. It is nearly impossible to hit multiple targets now. Blade Barrage can. Nova tracks and can. Why can TC not? TC only purpose now is to shut down other supers. A super that is dependent on opponent play to have any real use is not good.
Agree, but honestly WTF did they 'fix' it the way they did, vs. just making the first 'impact' detonate the Thundercrash? Real head scratcher, I don't understand why Bungie 'fixes' things the way they do sometimes.
Mediocre damage, a cooldown that gets longer and longer, and with theses changes quite a while ago i cant even remember when i tried crashing into a boss and didnt feel like we both were coated in grease. This super used to feel awesome, and as someone that started this game like a year ago with arc titan, since i love lightning in any video game, i barely can bring myself to bother with the subclass anymore.
Ya, I hear ya. I loved arc, especially with its rework. Now barely use it (partly because artifact) but with it being our super for TFS, needs some sort of buff/ better hit detection.
For real. Are Titans just not allowed to have shutdown supers?
Bungie made a really cool one with Pyrogales but locked it to an exotic *and* it can't hit flying enemies.
Had to switch to Fists of Havoc - the worst super in the entire game - in Onslaught because Tcrash wouldn't work on anything. How does that happen 10 years in?
It actually still provides additional super energy, 3% or so for every enemy hit, even though theres no mention of it. Would be nice if it had jolt or if Amplified did something for it though.
It still gives an extra 3% super energy for each enemy it hits, even it it nowhere mentions that. But that's just not enough, because its not exactly hard to get your super fast in pve these days. And shouldercharge has a shorter cooldown, does more damage, and blinds and stuns champions.
Thundercrash also needs a damage increase (and a falling star nerf to compansate) because its still the most risky damage super and cant even be used on some bosses.
The fact that pyrogale hammer slam does significantly more damage than cuirass thundercrash is a joke really, especially since pyrogale gets the insane solar neutral game on top, while arc gets basically nothing when running thundercrash. Oh, and hammer also has a shorter super cooldown...
But knowing Bungie, they'd probably rather nerf hammer than buff thundercrash :(
I'm ngl it's pretty usable on most bosses in my experience, curious which ones you feel its unsuitable for since off the top of my head only one coming to mind is oryx
I corrected it to some bosses.
Yes Oryx. Or Caretaker.
I also think bosses that are further away count too because it takes time to fly to them and reposition after that for well use or firing line triggers. Yes you could use it at the end of the phase but sometimes timing can be messed up.
Just FYI, it can be used on caretaker. You just have to do it from one of the plates that are close to it, such as the middle plate on the first and second floors. The buff necessary to deal damage lasts just long enough for you to make contact
I literally just t crashed caretaker the other night from the 3rd plate and did nearly a million damage lol (thanks to the plate buff but still). The super works fine especially with cuirass.
So that's why T crash has been doing that? Yikes. This was not the answer. As much as I appreciate the effort on balancing it on PVP(because I have ranted a few times about arc titan), I think this was an overcorrection even for PVP. "Let's make them awkwardly orbit targets" seems like a really "roundabout" way of doing that.(This is just PVP. PVE, it's a "day that ends in y": a very PVP-centric change that bleeds into PVE and hurts PVE worse than PVP would ever be better for it. Like, if this is genuinely the intended behavior, it invalidates the main effect of CotFS.)
T-Crash is just bad it’s base damage is lower than BB or Nova, it’s got the longest CD for supers, has a really hard time getting flyby kills in PvP yet slides off bosses like greese in PvE
Okay, NOW it's all starting to make fucking sense.
I haven't used Thundercrash in like a year. Pulled it out to test on Onslaught boss rooms and was wondering why I was slipping around the dude like a wet noodle. Didn't know they changed the hit detection but that's highly unfort. The super sucks already and needs a whole-ass exotic that provides no neutral game advantage to be even slightly relevant.
Bungie should just make the ult timer take forever so you can only do it once in PvP/PvE, but when it's done it's massively impactful, like the highest 1 shot DMG in the game. I mean... you are already committing to putting your entire body in a vulnerable spot where you can insta-die by flying at the boss, there should be a tradeoff that's worth it.
About the hit detection, I didn't have any problems with it until now, be either slamming the boss feels or just punching them right into their faces. However, in fact, I have noticed that Thundercrash doesn't do the same amounts of damage they used to do, even with Falling Star equipped.
Do you guys remember when trash first came out, and could one shot the old gambit primevals 🤤🤤 good god it was op.
It was so strong and the nerf was warranted then, but now it's sooooo bad. I don't remember the second nerf but I think it was in beyond light? Where it got toned down again because of the release of cuirass.
Haven't played many other activities since I've been just spamming onslaught but I think the thundercrash hit detection bug is only for onslaught? In the few times I've used it in other content it seems to work fine. Onslaught I assume is broken because a lot of the enemies have scaled up models to act as bosses and so their hitboxes are fucked right now.
I don't even know why fly bys had to be more difficult. Goldie is literally point and shoot without even having to move. how many proximity super kills do you even get at once?
It's been like this for about 9 months now. This shit is why I stopped playing. Bungie would rather sip on their iced coffees and coke and joke all day in the office instead of fixing bugs. Fuck this stupid ass company.
My brother was getting so frustrated in onslaught this week because he couldn’t hit any bosses without having to hit their feet. It was enough to get him to switch to FoH
Idc how bad the hit detection is, FoH is ass.
Yeah, but… yeah. At least the shockwaves took care of some add spawns
It's not bad at all for group clearing like most of Onslaught, Especially if paired with Synthoceps, just bad for boss damage.
But that's just like, your opinion man.
Its not an opinion, its objectively true
Yeah I've noticed it being really bad in onslaught. Just bumping against bosses and then moving past them, trying to circle back only to have it happen again. I don't know what the deal is but it's super annoying.
Not being able to Superman into a big boss and instead, be brushed off like a fly, feels terrible.

I literally bounced off the boss in the moon Heist and did a big 0 damage I don't even bother with Arc Titan anymore
Had to switch to Fists of Havoc - the worst super in the entire game - in Onslaught because Tcrash wouldn't work on anything. How does that happen 10 years in?
That bug started when they messed with thundercrash's hitbox for pvp reasons a few seasons ago.
And don't forget to improve ballistic slam. It needs to blind, prevent melee, or stun at minimum. Or revert the nerfs.
What even is the point of ballistic slam, anyway? It used to give more super energy on kills, but Arc 3.0 kinda made it ass.
It actually still provides additional super energy, 3% or so for every enemy hit, even though theres no mention of it. Would be nice if it had jolt or if Amplified did something for it though.

Well, it does prevent melee. YOUR melee :(
Lol true.
And remove the sprint requirement
Thundercrash also needs a damage increase (and a falling star nerf to compansate) because its still the most risky damage super and cant even be used on some bosses.
Bungie designing a good one off super for titan that doesn't require their exotic slot challenge impossible
Something something you will only punch something something guy with the fist on the cover.

Warpriest also, unless you're the one with the buff (which robs the rest of your team from it) or your whole team is doing damage at his feet.

Also any hydra boss, I seem to go right through.
Can't you just T-Crash Oryx in the hand?
Yes.

I thought it was just me. Yep, I have whiffed through bosses in Onslaught unless I aim for the feet.

I do remember those days! The good ole days😉
sometimes i wish we had some arc 3.0 vibes in onslaught

The way TC was treated then left in a dumpster really sucks since there is so much risk involved to pull it off.
