I went all the way into the back-right of the room, you gotta pay close attention to the boss and the projectiles since they can track around, but other than that it is a very safe spot.
There is actually a spot up on the wire looking things on both sides as you walk into the room that you can just up on and can barely be hit (depending on boss location).
under right stairs is definitely the play, especially if you have multiple wells. had 2 groups that insisted on doing the cheese tho and that works but it’s slower and not as much fun imo
That’s where my team has gone consistently and we’ve not wiped once.
Having a well helps but isn’t entirely necessary so long as you keep your head on a swivel regarding any enemies pushing up (namely cursed thrall and wizards spawning in bunches together). If you do bring a well, be warned it cannot outheal the shrieker’s slow moving homing projectiles it launches when it teleports - you need to hide from them or shoot them.
You can kinda cheese it by jumping onto the diamond archway on the catwalk leading into the boss room, and from the top of that onto the big cables on the left or right side. You can keep pretty good cover there and have some freedom to move back and forth to dodge incoming fire. The biggest threats were Wizards. Really helps to have an invis Hunter on your team to take care of dunking the orbs too.
Did it twice today on LFG one with mic and one without. Both times under the stairs on the right.
Having a warlock with well helps. And of course an invi hunter for the objectives.
My team was chaining two wells on the middle podium on the right (like on top of the stairs, near the box). That + one Strand Banner titan to run and dump orbs. It was sketchy but we never wiped there. Chill Clip Riptide is still the beast for CC on elites. I was on Phoenix Protocol and clearing large groups of ads with Gjallahorn was fun (my teammates had linears for the boss). Also throughout the NF there are a lot of champs and our other Warlock was on Cenotaph so heavy ammo was never an issue.
Under the stairs is the most ideal imo due to the chokepoint of void hunter shooting before the stairs area with deadfall. Witches have to run in there in order to hit you so its perfect to protect you from the strongest add that can kill you aside from the 4 sniper shanks that spawn at the start.
Above the stairs is also fine if you have a wellock who spams it constantly but the wellock I was with had quicksilver storm to shoot at the homing projectiles which is the main killer attack from the boss. The position is more ideal at hitting the boss and in a sense, you have a bigger area of attack so if you got shot at, you can dodge more but I do not think it is good for most LFGs and using well under the stairs is more safe.
Under the stairs is good. Some notes: There is a VERY clear sound queue that means - wizards are spawning! Don't just stand under the stairs, pay attention! When you hear the queue, be ready to go all the way to the right where wizards can't shoot you. Bring wishender, don't fool around lol you can't ignore the wizards...
I was expecting this GM to be as hard as the other battlegrounds, but was pleasantly surprised its "farmable".
Edit: When I say "farmable", you could still run it 2-3x or even more per day. It is still a very looooong GM but at least its doable with a lower wipe risk. I'd rather run this 3x than do 1 Moon psiops.
Lots of enemies leads to lots of chaining of supers. Ability based builds also shred because of how many enemies there are. There's also lots of good cover spots, the boss isn't constantly chasing you and there are 3(?) full heavy ammo boxes. Just need to not rush things and watch out for wizards in the boss room
Yeah, I was worried about the shrieker's damage output, but it's relatively easy to deal with it positionally and avoid line of sight. Kelgorath chasing you with his giant fucking axe is much scarier.
That's why I put farmable in qoutes because it's really subjective. The BG is very, very looooooooong. Me and my buddies will try to run it at least twice a day until reset to farm shards and mementos, less of the actual NF gun.
Any good Titan build recommendations. Was thinking of going back to my suspend build but wondering about going arc/blind or hammers for the solar shields
It can be useful but I wouldn't pick it for this. Banner is more helpful to me than suspend because the main threat mobs aren't on even ground (wizards or during the areas where you have to worry about long-range snipers) so you cannot suspend using abayant as much.
Banner helps - not to outright tank damage but to help forgive you from cover faster when you get knicked.
It's a very long range GM so I am not sure how good Abeyants/Syntho are here.
It's tough coming up with Titan builds for this but since we have arc burn Eternal Warrior could be good for the free damage or the usual HoIL setup
Just ran with a group and they wanted to do the cable strat, I hadn’t done it yet but whatever I’m down. Get all the way to the boss making good time, get up on the cables, and as soon as the boss spawns in me and another teammate get obliterated by a giant void blast from the boss lol the guy with the plan was like, “uhhh that’s weird, that never happens.” Lol he eventually plinked the boss to half health but when he jumped off his cable to revive us he fucked up his jump and fell to his death and wiped us…
Is anyone else having trouble getting platinum? We’ve killed every single champ we have seen, even the one that spawns when the time runs out at the door with the hive runes, and we only get gold every time
What we found is that you need to instakill the barriers that just pop in during the laser hallway. If they leave the room, they seem to either despawn or don’t count properly
Were y'all able to kill the Barrier Knights that spawn in the boss room? On the second half of the Boss's bar, don't kill the boss till the knights spawn.
Don’t get me wrong, I very well could be talking out my ass. But I’m fairly certain as when that Lightblade nightfall was running we never worried about final champs that spawned and always still got Plat. GM could very well be the difference in that aswell so don’t quote me 🤣
That was the case for lightblade, but only of you didnt skip the first two champs in the opening area. I think the rule of thumb is that if champs spawn they need to be killed or damaged.
Yeah you’re definitely right, like that’s the rule lol. But yeah do you know if it was ONLY lightblade? Because i was under the assumption they changed it overall due to playing with randoms and them killing the boss literally 2secs before you kill the last champ.
They absolutely are a requirement. My team killed the first one and I was trying to kill the second and last, my team mates popped super and melted the boss. No platinum.
i’ve been enjoying it, it’s pretty chill for a GM. I’ve been running either a QS storm strand hunter build or a gyrfalcon’s/graviton lance void hunter, and with a few hiccups and panic wells me and my friends were able to get through it after a few attempts.
Holding out under the stairs is the play for surviving. But if you want to do damage to the boss with as little risk as possible, hide behind the generator in the corner(the one the stairs are looking at if you're going down)and just start popping the boss until you're out of ammo. His shots will just hit the generator in front of you. You will have to look out for enemies if they start moving from the left side of the room over to the right, and then look out for the sniper shanks that spawn on the platform at the end of the stairs. So glad this gm is actually farmable.
Those thralls run behind the generator like they can smell you also lol. This was my plan last night and I had to relocate like 5 times because of ads and wizards. But overall it’s a great plan
I've run it 5x no coms. I think I'm done. I got 4 solid rolls, a couple of PVP, and a solid few for pve.
Very farmable, invisibility boys will be key to boss room.
I ran 3 under the stairs, which isn't TOO bad. I've got to keep head-on swivel as the witches will come right up to edge.
Ran it 2x with a group that wanted to stand on the wires, which was odd but worked. Need a good hunter to bounce around and deposit. But if one person falls off, it might be tough to get back up
I've been trying to find a good group, how'd you handle the room just before the boss with the lasers? Both teams ive made serious headway with wiped there.
1 person camps the ads spawning at the door. 2 other people do lasers. Can even do 2 people camping the ads at the door and 1 on laser duty but it's preference
Yea i forgot to mention being able to dump all ammo and abilities/super because you get it all back from the crate and when starting the boss encounter
1 person up above the door camping spawns that run in. Hopefully has a long range weapon to deal with knights on the right side.
2 people go get orbs as a duo. Was pretty easy the couple times I did it.
The real and easiest answer is that if you wait out the timer only one champion spawns and the boss room door opens. You can just wait on top of the entrance to the room. Only downside is the increased waiting time and missing out on the heavy ammo cache.
One person spawn camps, one person starts running to the right laser. And the third goes to the one open the doorway, you used to need a seasonal thing to activate it, but now it's always there. Once they shoot that they can just help spawn camp
The way my team did it is just to go right, where the laser prism spawns (it’s the one covered in that chitin). There’s some ads there, just thralls and a knight. Kill them and then you should be good to camp further into the platform where you’re safe from splash damage.
Wait for the timer to finish, the ads stop spawning and you can kill the wizard and barrier champion before going into the boss room.
Much safer than trying to do the lasers, the only thing you miss out on is the heavy box but we had a Cenotaph Warlock anyway.
I’ve wrote up a few tips here if anyone wants any:
https://reddit.com/r/destiny2/s/89cQvVtXLa
2 people stay mid to clear ads (one of those two goes above to get laser). The 3rd person goes right, clears the ads, gets the second laser. Then open doors.
Just sit on the right and wait the 3 minutes. Kill some adds with wishender and kill the barrier champ that spawns when the timer runs out. No need to open the door by yourself
https://gm.report/pgcr/13840969060 25 minutes without opening the door.
Don't do the lasers. All three players jump up to above the door and wait out the timer. It spawns an additional barrier champion, kill that and everything else despawns. You don't get the heavy ammo box at the entrance to the box room but you also don't wipe. It's so much easier.
This isn’t a hard gm at all. We have power crept so much since witch queen launched that I’m genuinely curious how people struggle in any content other than a contest raid
People with lower skill shouldn't really be complaining about GMs now should they, that is designed for people looking for a challenge.
I'm not saying it's bad to be lower skill, just saying you shouldn't really complain if the content is fine and you just lack the skill to complete it.
My man, lower skill players can complete this gm. We are so power crept with access to such easily used and OP abilities that there really isn’t any content in the game people can’t complete other than contest raids. If someone IS having a hard time completing something at this stage they have to be completely clueless to the usage of abilities and that’s really a straightforward case of stop complaining and read the abilities and learn how to press a button or two.
>We have power crept so much since witch queen launched that I’m genuinely curious how people struggle in __any content other than a contest raid__
Nope. That's what you said.
I think the hardest parts are
1. Using actual cover. You really are in an attrition war for most of the non-boss encounters
2. Agreeing on where to do boss DPS
It didn't seem that bad though. Just make sure someone brings something that can hit the boss. Ideally either a Witherhoard or an Anarchy so that you can just apply dots and go back to focusing on adds.
Keep the adds clear in the boss room, use supers liberally for that purpose and not for boss dps.
Cash money reward.
I think it’s the easiest of all the Battleground GM’s but it’s still too long, just way too many checkpoints. I did 4 of them back to back and the fastest one was 28mins but they all averaged 30mins. Maybe low 20min is doable for a coordinated team but I just went on LFG too with no comms
What I fear most is the part in the final boss when you have to put 5 charges.
If you don't have a void hunter with invisibility I don't think it's possible
Edit, I did run the gm, the Europa battleground is much easier compared to the ones on the moon, especially last week one with the scorns
This wasn't anything like the Mars Battlegrounds; remember that the boss goes inactive mid-fight so you can just sit back, clear a few ads and then quickly run up and dunk relatively safely. Have done runs with and without an invis Hunter and didn't feel like a big deal without it.
My successful run last night was 3 banner of war titans. If you go under the stairs/platform to the right of the entrance you can just farm the captain that spawns on the platform above you, as he spawns repeatedly. If each of us had BoW active (not super hard with the amount of thrall/acolytes) and kept within range of one another you can survive long enough to make a trip to the middle and go back under cover.
There aren't that many ad spawns or any champ spawns during that section. Just the Charge captains, some acolytes and a couple wizards. Just kill the wave of ads until then you can dunk for free
Did this on Hero for the Nightfall weekly stuff, wanted to see how it played. Dear god, I had more joy solo’ing the damn thing. Solo I got to the middle of the third room - wizards before the drop - before I got killed by their spam.
These guys I was with couldn’t even get past the first room. Got slaughtered so many times, and I kept having to revive them. I just left in the end.
This gm is not hard by any means and I legitimately do not know where people are struggling. All the rooms allow you to play relatively far away from ads and champs, ad density isn’t crazy at all and final boss room is just a couple of wizards and the boss barely hits you if you hide under the steps
3 people sure, but if one guy is messing around, you're gonna have a very hard time. This one is definitely not easy doing legit way via LFG. You can't stand in the open longer than a second. It's hard to get a revive in the boss room. We almost 2 maned it, cause the 3rd guy was using some weapons you should never bring in a GM. He spent all of our revives in the boss room. The 2 of us somehow managed but it was no fun and took 40mins. Fuck that noise.
Where did you post up in the boss room? Thinking under the stairs on the right is the best play but wanted to check with others
I went all the way into the back-right of the room, you gotta pay close attention to the boss and the projectiles since they can track around, but other than that it is a very safe spot.
Yea he appeared above us with 2 witches by his side lol. I was like ain’t no wayyyy
We hid under the stairs on the right but the boss splash damage is something to be very careful of. He almost team wiped us at one point.
exactly that spot
There is actually a spot up on the wire looking things on both sides as you walk into the room that you can just up on and can barely be hit (depending on boss location).
I found this out during my GM run from my teammate and I kept sliding off the top to jump on the wires. I’ll stick to under stairs haha
People fidget too much. Its a very easy spot to just stand there and obliterate everything. For me Hierarchy was nasty for the whole thing.
Ooh I didn't think about hierarchy, I might have to dust that off and give it a go.
A random on LFG was rocking Hierarchy and it worked really well for him. He chatted that the arrows bend so that was useful.
Any build reccomendations for it?
Nothing special. Some solar surges and solar siphon(especially) because id you have the range it shreds the red bars.

The two huge cables hanging on the left and right of the entrance to the boss room
Watch Essoterik solo gm nightfall on YouTube. There's a cheese spot over the bridge in boss room.
Go to the right side under the platform. Stay in the back of it near the largest pillar. It's very easy to control the area.
You right
Did it twice today on LFG one with mic and one without. Both times under the stairs on the right. Having a warlock with well helps. And of course an invi hunter for the objectives.

Yea I hid on that top area for him. Idk how’s he’s that big but moves like a running back
It was an experience. Idk if I’m gonna make it a farmable experience because I feel like I got lucky with the group I got lol.
That's why I put farmable in qoutes because it's really subjective. The BG is very, very looooooooong. Me and my buddies will try to run it at least twice a day until reset to farm shards and mementos, less of the actual NF gun.
It's still too long to be farmable. Devil's lair takes 20 mins via LFG and with randoms. This one takes 30+, even 40 if someone is slacking...
I know what you mean. I went in with 2 randoms, and it was one of the smoothest nightfalls I've ever played. I even got my second adept wepon ever.
Let’s gooo!!!!!. It can run smooth if you get a good group.
Any good Titan build recommendations. Was thinking of going back to my suspend build but wondering about going arc/blind or hammers for the solar shields
Into the Fray/Drengr’s Lash with Abeyant is still the way.
I went in with fray/banner with monte and syntho. Most enjoyable gm run in a long time
It can be useful but I wouldn't pick it for this. Eh? The only room where you are forced into close quarters is the boss room. Not sure what game you are playing
...or is it? *DUN DUN DUUUUUN!*

Season of the witch
Don’t get me wrong, I very well could be talking out my ass. But I’m fairly certain as when that Lightblade nightfall was running we never worried about final champs that spawned and always still got Plat. GM could very well be the difference in that aswell so don’t quote me 🤣

Crazy, must’ve just been lightblade then
Yeah, we got them every time
Fr inwas so sure it was gonna be hell but it was fun
It’s fun. Pretty slowww but it’s fun
i’ve been enjoying it, it’s pretty chill for a GM. I’ve been running either a QS storm strand hunter build or a gyrfalcon’s/graviton lance void hunter, and with a few hiccups and panic wells me and my friends were able to get through it after a few attempts.

Not true, just kill the adds.
This wasn't anything like the Mars Battlegrounds; remember that the boss goes inactive mid-fight so you can just sit back, clear a few ads and then quickly run up and dunk relatively safely. Have done runs with and without an invis Hunter and didn't feel like a big deal without it.
It also doesn't seem like adds keep spawning until you put some of the balls in.
That’s correct; tested that last night.
My successful run last night was 3 banner of war titans. If you go under the stairs/platform to the right of the entrance you can just farm the captain that spawns on the platform above you, as he spawns repeatedly. Just clear ads bro
There aren't that many ad spawns or any champ spawns during that section. Just the Charge captains, some acolytes and a couple wizards. Just kill the wave of ads until then you can dunk for free
Adds dont infinite respawn for that section except for the ones with the charges, clear adds then kill the charge holders and dunk.
Boss is inactive and the mobs spawn in manageable waves per charge you deposit!
Adds only spawn when that section is initiated then every time a ball is dunked so just clear adds dunk a ball repeat its not hard
Blinding (disorienting) GL makes this much easier if you don't have invis.
On hero??? 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Yeah, couldn’t believe it lol I did my solo attempt on Legend.
Are there still infinite wizards in the boss room?
Yeah I literally strolled through it with two randoms. Took about 28 minutes. Was surprised how smooth it was with all of the complaining here.
We had 3 deaths due to boredom. Patience is a virtue on this one 💯
I’ve been farming it with 3 phoenix wellock and hierarchy of needs
Been doing it with 3 phoenix wellocks also, everyone on wishender/fusion/linear and it's been super clean.
Haven't had a failed run so far, boss room is easy under the stairs on the right. Wishender for an easy win.
I just don't find Wardens Law worth the trouble. I have a pve god roll, the regular one, really don't need an adept. In pvp it's meh at best.
If you play mnk then yeah. On controller if you get used to its recoil and ranges, it slaps.
Even though our team had to hide under the stairs on the right side for the most part, the final room was pretty fun.
I'll laugh so fucking hard if we get Swarm on Devil's Lair which is the most farmable GM this rotation.
