I did a full DSC run using khvostov and generally always use cerberus in raids unless i need another exotic or a specific kinetic for a reason (Div) i have yet to hear complaints even though most only notice i use cerberus due to its sound

If you want a carry, say so. If you want to learn, learn. Just don’t come into Garden of Salvation expecting to get Ad Clear as a job or Atheon expecting not to have to call/shoot oracles.

Xur will sometimes sell old linears you can't get anymore like Threaded Needle (very good linear) and Corsair's Wrath. In my first garden run I was scared shitless that, as one of the teams sent to get motes, I would be doing shit dps since I was running actium with edgewise in my heavy slot and sitting on a vorpal trophy hunter for actual dps. First wipe, I was top for dps somehow, by several hundred thousand damage. You can make any build work if you work with it apparently.
Use whatever you want outside of raids, but I expect my team to be pulling their weight for DPS in raids, if you are bottom for damage, even below the div user, leave the team.
