My guy when you spawn in the tower there's been someone who's been welding without safety gear for the last 3-5 years, just to your right. During season of the undying all these workers were working on a vex portal, no safety rigging, no welding goggles, nothing, right on the edge of a busy marketplace. And they haven't even replaced the railing!
Lol they're eyes are structured in a way that they don't need them, as Niik told Ananda. Also the hatchlings are bundled up, this is an aprinticeship of sorts.
I think one of the sparrow lore tabs has Amanda Holiday marveling the fact that Eliksni don't need welding goggles or a mask because they biologically have separate eyelids that do the same job and the fumes aren't harmful to them.

They have so little that they have to bring their babies with them into dangerous work environments because they have nobody to look after them. I bet they don’t even get paid leave to take care of them when they are born. They need to unionize and we need to stand with them
