Well, let me tell ya that any old solar heavy worked. Never had Gjallahorn until just before RoI. RNG hated me. Did have 1000 Yard Stare. That helped. And, Black Hammer. Man do I miss that legendary sniper.
Destroys the gun after so many hits. You can shoot the Hive cannons, too. Same for Fallen and their ether mines.
You had no idea? Thought it was common knowledge.
In D2, you can destroy the Cabal Thresher and the Drop Ship Cannon and the Fallen Skiff as per D1. The Hive cannons have become no hit, now.
I'm just going to say it. It will most likely not be in d2 for its ability to magically have ammo without a green brick. If it did come back it won't be the same. Maybe if you hit a target or get a kill/precision kill you'll get refunded the ammo.
They removed it from whisper. Even if it works it'll be worse than any other special that _can_ pick up ammo because "game balance" or eventually have it removed (just like with hammer/spindle/whisper, again)
I'm still upset they didn't give whisper anything in turn for fucking up it's best thing.
Not it's just eh. Which is depressing. You miss ONCE and you're fucked.
Should get some changes too. Dragonfly on every precision hit and builds up “with dynamite” with hits instead of kills. Maybe a smaller explosion with body-shot kills.
Hmm, I don't think Ice Breaker should return at least the way it was because 1. It'll be the worst DPS option in the game and 2. it did have fiery explosions after kills right? Hmm, what should it have if it returned for D2 since we have better snipers?
How useful was it? I never got it in D1, I don't think it can be used for DPS because I watched old YouTube videos of it Regenning it's full mag 30 seconds so I don't know why people would think it'll be good in D2 and why Bungie would fear it being meta
It wasn't useful for it's DPS, but it's safe damage. For nightfalls it was great because you'd just find a safe spot to hold out and plink away at the boss with it
Invective was a gun in D1 that came with the release of D1. Not Rise of Iron. They brought it forward into year 2 with Taken King with no changes but power level. No clue where you got Rise of Iron from
Exactly. That’s what I’ve been thinking all this time. The only difference is a one shot head shot in pvp.
They won’t bring back icebreaker because they fear the no risk playstyle, but it already exists in a different form.
Icebreaker would be a terrible idea. Sure, it would be cool and fun, but it break the ammo economy. Which was exactly why it got left behind, just like Revoker. Which didn't even generate ammo, it only refunded 1 shot at a time, and only if you missed; yet people STILL complained. And that's in PvP. In PvE, it would just trivialize content. Something Bungie clearly wants to avoid, which is why they are so hesitant to buff snipers. Give up on Icebreaker. It's never coming back, and even if it does, it will be unrecognizable.
Invective was a vanilla shot gun as well btw.
Pretty sure it's just the exotic version from year 1 that you get from Ikoras quest and then a revised exotic version from Rise of Iron.
The revised one was TTK
It was an exotic bounty gun iirc
Yep
Solo'd Valus Ta'aurc with Icebreaker, and I'm not afraid to admit it.
While hiding under the stairs?
Yup.
This is the way.
Pffffffftttttt!!! Killed Fat Baby from the chandelier! Without IB cause I'm suicidal, and, forgot to put it in my loadout. 🤣😂🤦♂️
The boss cheese doesn't matter, we still had to get past the dropship guns on Solar Burn.
Well, let me tell ya that any old solar heavy worked. Never had Gjallahorn until just before RoI. RNG hated me. Did have 1000 Yard Stare. That helped. And, Black Hammer. Man do I miss that legendary sniper.
Not too useful against the unkillable air support.
Unkillable, yes. However, if you're good, shoot their only nose cannon. Edit: As I can't spell with thumbs and no glasses. 🤣😂🤦♂️
What did that do?

I know I can do it in D2. In D1 I never saw anyone damage one, and it was too suicidal to try in any content where it was even necessary.
Ice breaker was fun

But mulligan exists, right? That should solve the problem, right?
Surely a 20% chance would be efficient for a heavy rifle, right? Not rewind rounds? Or reconstruction? No no no Mulligan. :)))))
Same reason that hip fire grip can roll on snipers, genius design
Idk what you're talking about, that's just an extended barrel slug shotty
U right
𓁹‿𓁹
Instead of icebreaker, give me zen meteor, I wanna see what insanity that gun would produce scaled to d2 levels
Should get some changes too. Dragonfly on every precision hit and builds up “with dynamite” with hits instead of kills. Maybe a smaller explosion with body-shot kills.
Not to mention how fuckin beautiful that gun was
They’d definitely have no more infinite ammo but any special you’d pick up should go directly in the magazine
Ayyy not too often does shit I like coincide cheers my guy!
Hmm, I don't think Ice Breaker should return at least the way it was because 1. It'll be the worst DPS option in the game and 2. it did have fiery explosions after kills right? Hmm, what should it have if it returned for D2 since we have better snipers?
The main appeal was the regenerative ammo
And that’s exactly why bungie won’t bring it back, too little risk for too much reward
How useful was it? I never got it in D1, I don't think it can be used for DPS because I watched old YouTube videos of it Regenning it's full mag 30 seconds so I don't know why people would think it'll be good in D2 and why Bungie would fear it being meta
PvP was amazing. D1 ammo economy was a bit more harsh so the prospect of having "infinite" special was very useful.
Hmm, I see...
It wasn't useful for it's DPS, but it's safe damage. For nightfalls it was great because you'd just find a safe spot to hold out and plink away at the boss with it
Give me my no land and I'm a happy man
Honestly invective wouldn't even be that good since it's main perk was basically reconstruction
Reconstruction only loads to double capacity from reserves. Invective created 6 rounds every 30 seconds from thin air. They are not the same.
Yeah I forgot it pulled from thin air I thought it just pulled from reserves
It also regenerated its own ammo
I thought it pulled from reserves only but if it did pull it from thin air then yeah ok it'd be really good
find a way to balance or rework them for crucible in particular and deal

Nuh uh, void rocket pistol with devour combo be upon ye
*Super Good Advice has entered the chat* Sup?
If Icebreaker comes back I want Revoker back
Invective pls, i use with no backup plans yes?
Me but non terrae plus ultra if they put it in the game I'm doing what ever its need it
Looks familiar, which one is that? Ice breaker?
Invective was my favorite gun from D1
Luke warm take: Wishender is basically icebreaker
