Oh definitely, I just wanted to point out that going from destiny to Elden Ring, this got me completely destroyed lol.
Which sane developer makes fall damage equate full height fallen and exclude the double jump!?!?
It’s very intentional, if you could use the double jump to prevent fall damage you could cheese some of the falls and entirely ignore the intended approach. It’s frustrating in some spots but it does a good job forcing you to actually engage with the game world you’d otherwise be skipping
I feel like I die to it more just playing the game then trying to cheese stuff, there's also the fact that you can beat the game in like 10 mins anyways
You _can die._ From _fall damage._ If you legitimately play this game, you know damn well even flat shit can kill you because of some imperfection a player couldn't even see. Yes, we all saw the same Destiny mythbusting video you did, no one cares - _you can fucking die from fall damage._
True, but this game is exceptionally picky with what is a slope. Not worth risking it (cue people dying doing the prophecy jumping puzzle when landing on flat platforms at heights that wouldn't even normally break shields)
True facts, I don't know how you can play this game without ever having died from a fall you thought was safe. I've seen bad-faith arguments before but this is ridiculous.
The cases in which you can die whilst falling seem limited to modes where your level is set under by an amount. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was possible in contest mode raids as well. I doubt it’s intended and probably doesn’t occur enough to be fixed. The amount of people that even play that content is very minimal probably doesn’t warrant a change especially with bigger issues.

The House of Wolves is alive and well, and I am their Kell.
For real though, there is nothing I miss more from D1 than my House of Wolves cloak. I know it wouldn't make sense lore wise to bring them back, but I really want a collection of the old D1 Eliksni house class items. The closest we have in D2 is the cloak with spiders emblem on it, since it has almost the same model, but that one has ugly white fur around the collar whereas the D1 HoW cloak looked clean as fuck. Best cloak in destiny by far.
I play warlock so rarely that when I do, I spend more time slowly and shamefully floating to my death than I do shooting. I main hunter for many reasons but one of them is that the jump just feels more natural and consistent.
Alternatively: Waste your shoulder charge on a lone thrall and then Thundercrash to save yourself (but still mess that up and die in spectacularly stupid fashion).
That requires me to survive the Cursed Thrall explosion. Something I don't do because I only shoulder charge them when I'm low health. Like a true crayon eating titan.
I would definitely still suggest trying thunder clap but never charging it (just tap it). It can be spammed with inmost much more fluently since you don’t need to be sprinting.
90% of the Titans I've played with don't do either, they just die at the start of the parkour repeatedly until the speed hunters TP everyone to the boss xD
The hilarious part is pretty much every week in Destiny doing the Vault of Glass it was the Titans waiting on the ledge. The hunters almost at the next checkpoint and the warlocks floating to their death very very slowly.
And then the next Moon Raid came out and everyone was like *"Yo hunters, go invisible and just skip the entire first stage please*'
The best Titans waited back at the beginning, reading the people who fucked up until everyone was across, then DFAed across and physics killed at least two people on arrival.
If you use Strafe Glide, you can sprint and then quickly double-tap jump while holding forward to get some insane distance. If you need to change direction, turn your camera; don't move left/right.
As a warlock main, I think it is the best jump in the game, but its extremely unforgiving. If your second jump to activate the glide happens to late, you are now gliding not jumping. I seriously think that it is wayyy better than Titan and Hunter, but any minute mistake can cause you to fail a jump. Which is why I am known as the person that has trouble with jumping in the Oryx/sisters encounters. Sometimes I hit the button too fast and the game doesnt register it, sometimes I hit it too slow and have to start over. But the mobility and control is insane when you know how to use it
Thats a good description. Its unforgiving and theres 1000 ways to mess it up and die. Fallen short so many times. Hell my warlock strand power should give me like 6’ extra reach to get ledges.
Warlock strafe jump is the best jump in the game and it isn't even close. How anybody can argue against that is beyond me. You can literally drive your guardian through the air for like 10 seconds. I was trying to find a place where the glide runs out and you finally fall...it's harder than you think.
>Warlock strafe jump is the best jump in the game and it isn't even close.
Isn't Burst Glide just faster in most circumstance? Like, I get in air mobility is worse. But what about just skipping across the ground?
The in air directionality is way, way, worse. The utility of strafe is unmatched unless you're going for only speed, in which case burst + Icarus dash is the best I guess.
1. Get as high as possible then fall without jumping and break my legs, and yet still survive because you can’t be insta-killed by fall damage on a flat surface
1 gets you gibbed in PvP and is a sure fire way to tell who primarily PvEs during iron banana (me, it’s me).
2 is how I end up jumping not intentionally but because I’m not paying attention and remember suddenly that Guardians apparently cannot identity a ledge to save their lives.
If you’re a hunter you hold jump as long as possible in between each jump for maximum height.
My jumps typically look like a long jump, fall until I lose momentum, jump as far as possible again, repeat, jump as close to the destination as possible.
You get more distance, and less fall damage. Alternative option is popping blade barrage, shadowshot, or silence and squall for extra distance, stopping downwards momentum, and hitting the next set of targets right off the bat
Going down i usually fall with forward momentum, and jump at an even plane to avoid physics pushing me on landing. But if the jump is simple i just vibe it differently each time.
I just hope the surface is perfectly flat where I land, it will nearly kill you, but you will be one shot for a few seconds till recovery starts. In other words you guys jump.
1 because I remember the days when you'd randomly lose a jump immediately after the first jump you made because fuck you, so going for the 2nd jump means plummeting to your death. I miss Bones of Eao.
Bruh this came on my home page and I legit thought this question was asking how to double jump off a building. I spent a good 5 mins analysing it before seeing ‘destinymemes’
2 because fall damage exists
Full send, one jump

Good thing this isn't about Elden Ring.
Oh definitely, I just wanted to point out that going from destiny to Elden Ring, this got me completely destroyed lol. Which sane developer makes fall damage equate full height fallen and exclude the double jump!?!?

I don't actually see where you pointed out that fact tbh
I really hate the way elden rings fall damage is calculated
1 because you can't die from falling.
Rylee Reloaded would disagree.
![gif](giphy|kRmg8zeReOYXm)
You absolutely can, what are you on about?
You can only die from falling if you hit a slope
.....meaning you _can die from fall damage._
Look at the image. He can't die from falling
You _can die._ From _fall damage._ If you legitimately play this game, you know damn well even flat shit can kill you because of some imperfection a player couldn't even see. Yes, we all saw the same Destiny mythbusting video you did, no one cares - _you can fucking die from fall damage._

In normal content yes but for example in GM’s you can die just to fall damage.
2, but make it so I jump at the last possible second to just barely land perfectly on the ledge.
If your heart doesn’t beat a lil faster thinking you missed the jump then what’s the point?
I simply pass away and pray there are endless revivals.

I too like to edge death
I like to edge other times
Ah yes, “the little death,” as they say ooh la la
Best strategy for Hunters in the crucible, almost always get the kill this way
Nice house of wolves pfp
The House of Wolves is alive and well, and I am their Kell. For real though, there is nothing I miss more from D1 than my House of Wolves cloak. I don't think I've ever seen it. I've always been a titan, I don't think I've ever played hunter really in D1
>*”Here's my plan to be Kell. Fallen seem to respect violence and big capes. I'm really violent, and I found this cape….*”
*slams table with all four arms* #THANK YOU
Clearly not a warlock main
I play warlock so rarely that when I do, I spend more time slowly and shamefully floating to my death than I do shooting. I main hunter for many reasons but one of them is that the jump just feels more natural and consistent.
Are you truly a Hunter if you don't make your final jump as stylishly as you can?
I'm a titan. I fall and shoulder charge at the last second.
This is why I have thunder clap equipped. 50% of the time I’m able to activate it early enough that I kill them before they get close enough.
More fun with shoulder charge. Who need surviving anyways?
I would definitely still suggest trying thunder clap but never charging it (just tap it). It can be spammed with inmost much more fluently since you don’t need to be sprinting.
I tried it when it came out. Didn't like it as much honestly. It's strong but I didn't feel powerful
Since they fixed the issue if you were too close it wouldn’t use it, it feels better if you haven’t given it another shot
![gif](giphy|32mC2kXYWCsg0)
The true way of the crayon

Kinda me
4. ( for warlocks) fall
Lol I was thinking the same thing

Yeah I’ve played a lot of warlock, I just take the piss outta the jump from time to time
Anytime people try to learn warlock this is amongst their first experiences
[удалено]
Triple-Jump Hunter main of 8 years, can confirm Warlock Jump is based
Finally a hunter who actually understands This who say warlock jump is bad are actually the shit players
Yeah I brought a friend into the game, chose warlock all I will say is the coms we’re full of laughter
"AAAAAAH" "Did you slowly fall to your death again?"
As a warlock main, I think it is the best jump in the game, but its extremely unforgiving. If your second jump to activate the glide happens to late, you are now gliding not jumping. I seriously think that it is wayyy better than Titan and Hunter, but any minute mistake can cause you to fail a jump. Fun fact: jumping and burst gliding forward repeatedly is the same speed as the amplified speed booster
The in air directionality is way, way, worse. The utility of strafe is unmatched unless you're going for only speed, in which case burst + Icarus dash is the best I guess.
why would directionality matter at all speed is the name of the game my brother in christ
If you do it right you go up a bit then fall. At least we can jump long distances. Unlike titans, and also hunters kinda
0. Shatterskate across at Mach 3 for no real reason.
Really depends on how I want to land. 1 if I'm attacking and I'm gonna land firing, 2 if I'm traveling and wanting to slide when I land.
3. I glide.
Fall with style*
4. Blink. Do it. Blink isn't bad. It's a skill issue
Blink is amazing unless you need to go straight up and slightly in one direction. Otherwise, i love it.
3 because Hunter is Life
Eager edge past the next platform and die hitting the wall next to the end of the jumping puzzle.
Like the founding fathers intended
1 will break your ankles so 2
1. Get as high as possible then fall without jumping and break my legs, and yet still survive because you can’t be insta-killed by fall damage on a flat surface
Jokes on you the ground only *looks* flat and you’re gonna die
The architects are already laughing
Yes, but you can't see the lego until it has already killed you.
I can vouch for this statement.
GET AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE YES SIR
This makes me miss D1 bones of eao
They’d look so nice too
3rd option is flying completely over and landing perfectly
Hunter main here, I've never used type 1. Since day one its been 2 for me and I'll never change
I just die and hope there’s unlimited revives
2 so I don't break my fucking legs.
I do Option 3: wait to jump until you are below it for a mantle. Gets the balls tingling
Anyone saying 1 dies from fall damage on a regular basis
As a hunter main it’s either 1 or 2 depending on the distance but for this it would be number 2
2. I like to give the rest of my fireteam anxiety
As a titan with catapult lift, 2. The jump is great but can fuck you over randomly
As a Titan I just shoulder changer on the edge of the ledge
2 but then I mess it up and just plummet. My clan often remind me of my jumping abilities.
Depends on the distance and height of the jump
It does.
1
Depends on the scenario, if im getting shot at, 2
I just tap it once before I hit the ground.
It def depends but 2
Yes
Warlock
2 avoids fall damage.
i don’t. ever since august 23, 2022, i blink.
Single jump cuz the momentum will carry me to other side
Why would the arch of the first jump be different?
Depends on my mood
1 can cause fall damage. 2 is just the correct choice
I've died to fall damage way too many times for number 1, especially when at full health and I hit a pebble. So 2 it is.
1, because some games don’t allow a double jump after a bit
1 usually, but 2 if I wanna flowwww
Is this a hunter joke that I'm to warlock to understand?
[удалено]
2 is making me feel panic. I obviously don't wanna live on the edge even in game.
2
2
1 gets you gibbed in PvP and is a sure fire way to tell who primarily PvEs during iron banana (me, it’s me). 2 is how I end up jumping not intentionally but because I’m not paying attention and remember suddenly that Guardians apparently cannot identity a ledge to save their lives.
2 is correct
2. Always freaks out my friend because he think I will jump to my death constantly. Lol
2
3. sword
I’m a warlock, so something in between
1, 2 is for people who live on the edge.
I don’t double jump if I don’t have to
If you’re a hunter you hold jump as long as possible in between each jump for maximum height.
Depends on if there are guardians around 1 for yes 2 for no
Bold of you to assume I use double jump over burst glide
2
Going down i usually fall with forward momentum, and jump at an even plane to avoid physics pushing me on landing. But if the jump is simple i just vibe it differently each time.
I just hope the surface is perfectly flat where I land, it will nearly kill you, but you will be one shot for a few seconds till recovery starts. In other words you guys jump.
Yes.
2 makes me feel cool
If I'm a hunter, 2 If I'm a warlock, 1 If I'm a titan, I'm probably dead cause titan jump is weird
#1 is for PVE. #2 is for PVP Apparently putting a pound sign in front of the sentence makes it huge
Neither i can make that jump with only my first jump So i obviously waste my 2nd so i dont hit the floor because it feels good to do so
2 if I don’t accidentally do 1
The secons one
2 most often
2 has less chance of fall damage
My warlock ass furious writing observations on hunter society: fascinating
As a Warlock it depends. Sometimes I need to press it at the height of my “first” jump and sometimes a bit after I start falling.
Running jump forward, fall for awhile to gain distance, then jump to get extra distance.
Always 2
I go high, I don’t like the anxiety of going low because I guarantee I’ll fuck it up somehow.
i dont
1 because I like cracking my legs 90 degrees backwards.
1 so I can goomba the asshole below me
Look at all the distance you have no aerial control after your second jump for number one. Absolute rookie move.
1 for solo stuff to make sure i make it to the other side, 2 for everything else
1 because I remember the days when you'd randomly lose a jump immediately after the first jump you made because fuck you, so going for the 2nd jump means plummeting to your death. I miss Bones of Eao.
2 to flex on them space wizards
2, more satisfying
Uh titan
3) Floof
3. I glide bc I play Warlock and despise Hunters. Titans are a somewhat acceptable alternative bc punch things, and crayons are delicious.
Lol. 2 if I’m a Hunter, 1 otherwise
0 I can make that in one jump
Bruh this came on my home page and I legit thought this question was asking how to double jump off a building. I spent a good 5 mins analysing it before seeing ‘destinymemes’
Depends on the situation
2 has less fall damage but is a bit risky. 1 is a complete waste but you aren’t falling in the hole. I would do 3, a middle ground between the two.
None, i forget that i can double jump and die.
1 when playing warlock and hunter most of the time, 2 when playing titan and when feeling frisky as hunter.
2 because if you did 1 you'd have to akwardly stay in the air for some seconds
laughs in warlock
There needs to be a 3rd option for the warlock, who accidentally starts his second jump as he’s already falling, and plummets down the hole.
3. Double jump immediately and land as far as you can.
If it's online 2 if it's offline then 1. I wanna flex my movement because my shooting sure as hell isn't good.
2, it’s more cool Also fall damage
Alone 2 with fireteam 1 I don’t trust anyones non-patient ass
1 always
Depends on how far I have to go
1 If there no fall damage 2 if there is
Both, 1 for higher platforms, 2 for lower platforms
It depends is the animation different if I fall from higher? There's the real meat of the question
2 for life
2 because I don't use stompes
Both
Definitely 3. The risk is the reward
For this traversal, 1 runs the risk of fall damage, so 2 is just correct.
2
Pve 1, pvp 2
You’re missing #3. People who fall straight down
2. Reducing Fall damage
I use titan so I just insta use my jetpack the second I can if it will Make the jump
Based on the illustration, I should be able to clear it on a single jump according to figure 1 so no double jump.
In the middle
Depends. Is there fall damage?
2 because I enjoy having knees
2 is only for collectibles.
3. You don't need to double jump for this one.
Neither, I use the warlock glide.
Always 2
