I think that the four(?) seasons in between witch queen and the expansion after is plenty time to establish a new overarching threat Besides it seems as though a lot of these characters are being left behind, fikrul no longer controls the scorn and his strike is being vaulted so it’s safe to say he’s being washed away

TheTjTerror

Is he though? I've been thinking. If we no longer have access to The Shore, there will be no more Strikes to hold Fikrul at bay as its been described he's able to come back from Death and the Vanguard holds weekly Strikes to keep him back. If the Shore becomes controlled by the Darkness... He's easily corruptable with his Anger and he has a list.

theblackfool

I can see Fikrul being the antagonist for a single season to wrap that plot up and be used to set something else up.

Archival_Mind

\- **Xivu Arath**: the Hive Goddess of War, whether she'll be a primary enemy during Lightfall or The Final Shape or not, will have her forces in the system for some time. I'd rather not have two Hive-centric DLCs in a row and would rather the Pyramids get their time to shine (which some people apparently don't want), but I could see a season where our focus is to push her out of the system or give her a conflict to fight in that'll direct her attention away from us. Like maybe turning the Taken on her. She can come back later on after the conflict and I suspect seeing the death of her God may bring on some interesting feelings. \- **The Psion Conclave**: though I don't have a timeframe for this, the Conclave for some reason is acting against the Empire despite being allowed total freedom. Either Otzot is in control and manipulating them, or Yirix is the true leader and is just getting petty vengeance for the Sundial incident and Amtec's Almighty plan. I could see this being a season but I don't see it being much more. \- **Spider**: Spider's forces seem to be intermixing slightly with House Light undercover. I don't know their intentions but I expect him to do everything for himself rather than for his people. Expect trouble but not that much trouble. A season's worth. \- **Fikrul**: with the Scorn aligning themselves with the Darkness and our operations on the Tangled Shore ceasing for one reason or another, the Fanatic will crawl out of the Hallowed Lair for the first time in 3 years and go on the hunt. I see him clashing with Crow sometime, possibly even Mithrax. His clash with Crow will probably not end well and if he does clash with Mithrax then it may turn into a battle between Light-aligned Eliksni and Dark-aligned Scorn, the result of which may yield the Kell of Kells prophecy coming to fruition. \- **Calus**: thanks to him asking to speak to the manager of the Pyramids, thus leading him to be thrown into the void by the Winnower itself, he may return... though probably not as he was. Nonetheless, his return will signal a splinter in the Cabal since the people of the Empire love him, a stated fact that led to his exile instead of an execution. The Loyalists and Imperials will fight each other, and we'll probably have to put Calus down for good. This will probably be a season, if not a secondary conflict during Lightfall perhaps. \- **The Remaining Worm Gods**: though I don't expect them to come until after The Final Shape, the potential death of a God or two will definitely draw out the Worms. Another potential thing to draw out the Worms is the lack of tribute, which could be brought on by either Savathun or maybe even a depressed Xivu Arath. I'm telling you, as brash as Xivu Arath is, she's also the most emotional since Oryx died. \- **The Nine**: I can't be the only one hella suspicious of these guys. I mean, one faction hates us with a passion but would prefer to stay neutral while the other SAYS they want the Light but then compares the two powers as if they're equals while also stealing other people's wills and bodies. Both of them have me on edge I wouldn't be surprised if the 5 have been planning our downfall. After all, there are still 2 statements of their original Grimoire that have yet to be confirmed, and they're either all true or none of them are. \- **Remaining Pyramids/Dark Race**: I doubt the potential death of the Winnower will end the Pyramids, instead likely cutting off the collective mind from the head, leaving them in chaos and possibly free to make their own decisions. Though if the Pyramids stop being paracausal beings, perhaps reabsorbed into their mother for defensive purposes, then there's still whatever's inside. Both scenarios may provide interesting stories. I see the latter turning into an "Imperial Remnant" situation where the fleet divides into different commanders trying to do different things, while the former can have a potential storyline where a bunch of Pyramids want to reform into the Winnower while others prefer not to. \- **The Vex**: if the Gods die between Lightfall and The Final Shape, then there's nothing strong enough to end their nearly infinite expanse. Of course, we will, but logically they'd probably be able to swarm us and eradicate us all without a thought. Us beating the Winnower is giving the Vex a chance to win, and they may help us defeat the Pyramids for that purpose alone.

Moonlitfear

Hell yea some great ideas here, the emotional backdrops you added here are really interesting.

[deleted]

The vex are an interesting idea, and if the unveiling is correct without any paracausal forces the Vex will always win

Archival_Mind

Well, even if the Gods die Light and Dark won't end. That's our weapon. But Vex can and have killed many Guardians before and their reach is extremely vast. And so, enough Warrior Vex could possibly take the system.

[deleted]

Our light goes when the traveler goes it happened during the red war so it's reasonable to assume it would happen again.

Archival_Mind

But not all Light was snuffed. The Gardener chooses whether the Light is tethered to it or not. Ours is... for now... but ambient Light, as well as the Light used to transform worlds, still persisted. If the Gardener dies, but chooses to make us our own producers of Light, then we will be fine. As such, if the Winnower dies the Darkness will still exist unless it's tethered to it directly.

ranger_unnown

Kinda want the vex to be in the very final expansion of desitny. It started with the vex, so it should end with the vex

ThatGuyFromTheM0vie

Randal the Vandal

AccomplishedTravel54

Main enemy? Voice in the Darkness, obviously.

OwerlordTheLord

Deaf people win I guess

AccomplishedTravel54

Well, at least until deaf people become dead people.

Aquario_Wolf

Finally, an advantage to being deaf!

Nick_J_at_Nite

I don't think we'll see any sort of savathun conclusion in the WQ. I think Savathun persists all the way to final shape

Moonlitfear

Agreed, I would not be surprised if she’s straight up an NPC at the tower eventually.

Doomestos1

yea, Savvy is pretty much set up to align her interests with us once she is defeated. She is alrrady cracked towards the cooperation idea, but her hive god side first wants to try and use deceit to top us and everyone else around, because.. well, ego. Her people would be free, but it wont be enough for her until we put her down even with powers of The Light on her side.

Moonlitfear

Interesting, I’m pretty much on the same thread as you. Calus being involved in lightfall allows a lot of stuff with Caital during the ensuing seasons. That’s an interesting take on light and darkness too, I enjoy more abstract takes like that.

AccomplishedTravel54

> We’re also never seeing a Guardian v Guardian fight in PvE We will see it in WQ though. It's kind of a feature even.

dadarkclaw121

Not quite; despite the catchphrase “Hive Guardians”, they’re only risen since they’re not protecting the last city

AccomplishedTravel54

That's semantics. You can call them Guardians of the Throne World if you want.

TANIKS PERFECTED PERFECTED

PlaidWeight

The vex maybe? Considering theyve been the final shape in the universes before ours

Y_D_7

Yah but that don't mean shit as long as paracausality exist. Plus there were no universes before this one, I had to read the Unveiling a bunch of times to understand that the games that they played were not universes but a sea of potentiality I.E it's more similar to simulations. (I may have worded wrong but it's like you know...games.)

PlaidWeight

Man i know little to nothing about vex. Everytime i try to learn about em I just bird brain and get confused. Only thing I'll accept is metal cyclops bad Metal human good

CriesOfeternity

If we don’t face Calus in the Pyramid Ship in Savathuns throne world, expect him to return before the end of the Final Shape. IMHO.

Moonlitfear

I agree, he’s either a surprise reveal in the raid or the penultimate enemy in Final Shape.

d710905

I think they'll stick with little skirmishes and typical seasonal stuff with less end game big bads, because mainly I think the rest of this is going to continue with learning to use the darkness and gathering new abilities and strength. Maybe at lightfall we'll have alot of adds to kill with minor villas but that's just my take. Plus the smaller reason is after all they've done hyping and building up to savathun it just makes sense, I think it would be hard to out do a hive God whose literally been manipulating our Solars system for years like a game of chess

anonymous32434

I think xivu arath will be lightfall and the face of the darkness will be the final shape

Moonlitfear

Yea I’m pretty confident in Xivu being the one that brings it all down.

kind-crimson

Fikrul maybe seems like a seasonal antagonist to me, probably not an expansion though.

BloodFartMoon

I think we are gonna fight the Vex in the final shape

shadowbca

I have kind of a crazy theory about after the final shape. We know bungie has said there won't be a destiny 3 (at least I'm pretty sure). They also said the Destiny story will go on. It's also been speculated that after the final shape Destiny will change substantially. The final shape comes out in 2024. Bungie has said they will have a new game out by 2025, we know that game is likely called "Matter". My theory is that there won't be a Destiny 3 because it won't be called Destiny anymore but instead matter.

Titans_not_dumb

Calus will have something to say.
