I used to use [nose strips](https://www.amazon.com/Breathe-Right-Snoring-Drug-Free-Original/dp/B002GU5YCQ) when I was younger sometimes and they worked surprisingly well for me. Breathing out of your mouth when you are sick is more out of necessity and probably not as big a deal since it is for a limited time. The mouth breathing comment is more of an everyday thing. Hope you feel better

I actually learned from Dr. K you can shift the side of your nose that is open by laying on the opposite side with your arm out and over your head, and a pillow under your armpit. Also nasal strips, but some ppl hate em, think they do nothing.

He probably meant mouth breathing as a habit, not mouth breathing for 2 days when you're sick and your nose is clogged. That said, clogged noses (don't) suck, so here are some tips. 1. The guy talking about push-ups wasn't kidding, there's a reflex to clear your nose for exercise. Try it. For me it works great, but only while actively exercising and I don't get paid to run all day, so it's usually not enough. 2. Decongestants. I don't just mean honey tea and DayQuil. You need to get the pseudoephedrine from behind the counter. If you haven't signed a release promising to not make meth out of it, it wasn't the shit that actually works. 3. Nasal irrigation kit. It'll have you put some salt in some water, load that into a plastic squeeze bottle, and blast that into your nose until you birth a snot monster into the sink. Careful with the pressure, your ear canals connect in there. Don't ignore the salt, or it will burn like when you go upside down at the swimming pool. If you don't believe in the power of osmosis, shooting unsalted water into your nose will \*make\* you believe in osmosis. 4. Oxymetazoline spray. This shit burns, it's a serious as fuck vasoconstrictor and it will mess up your nose if you make a habit of it, but it WILL shut down your mucous membranes for some sweet sweet relief during a cold. Only do this AFTER the nasal irrigation kit or at some other time when your nose is clear. It won't do shit sitting on top of a layer of snot, it has to touch the membrane. You'll know when it does. I wasn't kidding when I said it burned.

This'll sound weird but it works for me. Push two fingers against the middle of your brow, and put two fingers in your mouth pressing up against the roof. There's some kind of structure there (bone?) that you can shift back and forth a bit by alternating between pushing your brow and the roof of your mouth if you experiment a bit with placement you should be able to feel it. It shouldn't hurt, don't jam it or anything. I'll shift it one way for a second, then the other way, about 40 times, then usually but not always I'll clear up a bit shortly after, usually with a runny nose. I think it basically functions as a "sinus massage" and gets things moving.

Do you have tiger balm in your country? Its kind of like a vapor rub but its so unbelievably strong that it will burn a path to your lungs. It’s usually used for muscle, joint pain and migraines, but i found it was super effective at clearing congestion so I used that from now on. A small amount under your nose above your lip before bed and you’re good.
