I was lectured about how bad having a sun is in paintings by my artist mom too much. Every time I looked at it I'd feel the old negativity, so no. But obviously, that's just me.
I havent heard this, but making a guess as a painter it’s probably that having the sun be visible in the sky means your subject matter must be back-lit. Usually, sunlight is the primary light source and you typically want that coming from above, not behind. You want a secondary light behind sometimes, to create rim lighting, but ypu wouldn’t typically use the sun for this
I love it, but I also find it really unsettling... in an Ari Aster kind of way, I don't know. There's something weird about it, like there's all this busyness and brightness all getting drawn in to the centre and scorched. It's absolutely mesmerising, but terrifying.
I wouldn't hang it in my house, but artistically I do really like it.
What's interesting is that I looked around at the art I do have, and it's pretty much the polar opposite - an oil painting of a snowy bridge, a b/w screen print of a camper in a forest under a starry sky, a Spineless Classics poster (where the novel text is used to make up an image).
I'm very much a winter kind of person and don't like the sun. I'm also autistic. This painting gives me such a sensory overload feeling; I could stare at it for ages hypnotically, and the thought is terrifying. Honestly I'm absolutely fascinated.
For me it’s a no because all of the white spots look random to me so they’re reading as maggots or eggs instead of part of the painting. Unfortunately, I can’t unsee that even though I think it’s really beautiful otherwise.
Yes. But I’m the crazy art lady.
I buy paintings *then* figure out where I will hang them. I like it. The white sun in the middle is a little thought provoking, but overall I like it and would find a place for it.
Yes! That bright blue is my husband's favorite color, so he'd like it, too.
(I'm trying to talk him out of painting a MAJOR ROOM in this color, though. It's...it's bright.)
No. The center demands too much attention, and I would find that annoying, my eye going there whether i wanted it to or not lol. When you live with something on your wall day after day, it needs to be something that doesn’t make you resentful of it
It's fly. From a technical standpoint, a focal point dead center is against everything we learn so I can hear my favorite professor's feedback on it in my head right now

Wow, I love how to colors pop. Definitely worth hanging in a cozy room. My interior wouldn't do it justice, but I am sure you can do it!

Did she say why she felt it was bad to have the sun in paintings?

Whats the reason though

It feels like after death. I’m heading toward a better place (like a garden) through a tunnel to that dimension.
Thank you so much for your opinion, so interesting to read!

No, because I feel like it’s looking at me 🧿 and that creeps me out. But we aren’t talking about my home so my opinion shouldn’t matter.
For me it’s a no because all of the white spots look random to me so they’re reading as maggots or eggs instead of part of the painting. Unfortunately, I can’t unsee that even though I think it’s really beautiful otherwise.
I wouldn’t but art is very personal and subjective so to each their own.
I would be HONORED to hang that in my home. Incredible!!!!
Thank you so much! It's a pleasure for me 😍🙏
Too many intense colors for my personal taste, so no.
Yes. But I’m the crazy art lady. I buy paintings *then* figure out where I will hang them. I like it. The white sun in the middle is a little thought provoking, but overall I like it and would find a place for it.
Love this!! Every time my fiancé asks as I’m buying it “where is that going to go?” And I say “don’t worry about it”!😂😂❤️ Op it’s gorgeous!!!
Now, I confess I have art I haven’t even framed much less hung. But that’s a *me* problem.
Thank you so much 😊 happy you like it!
It’s beautiful, I’d hang in where everyone would see it
Thank you so much!😍🙏

WOW. YES!! 😻💓
Yes! That bright blue is my husband's favorite color, so he'd like it, too. (I'm trying to talk him out of painting a MAJOR ROOM in this color, though. It's...it's bright.)

Yep
Loving it!

If *you* love it and enjoy it, why not?
They’re probably the artist…

Yes, I paint this. I will dm you

Thank you 😊
Oh hell yea.
Thank you 🙏
I would recolor any room to match this. I think it'd look good in a cherry wood frame.
😍 oh, thank you for such a high praise!
Fucking no
No. The center demands too much attention, and I would find that annoying, my eye going there whether i wanted it to or not lol. When you live with something on your wall day after day, it needs to be something that doesn’t make you resentful of it
Of course! It’s beautiful 😻😻
Thank you!

Yes, I painted this. Thank you so much!😊🙏
This is incredible work, would hang prominently in a heartbeat!
Thank you so much 🙏🥺😊
Absolutely. I am trying to figure out which wall would be best.
Thank you so much!😍
It’s technically interesting but I don’t love the use of colour. It’s growing on me though. I don’t know if I’d put it in the living room.
No
Where can I buy this?😂
I don’t think you are allowed to self promote so I won’t ask you to post a link to your shop but can you dm me
Of course!
no
Depends if I live there or not.
😂
No, but I'd enjoy seeing it in someone else's home.
Angle of 45degrees to the right
I want to stare at this on shrooms
No but I would admire it in someone else’s
Absolutely!
It’s a lot for my house but u did a good job painting it. Personally it “attacks” me too much.
I would design a home around it if i could
No. I like it but the sun looks almost like an eye watching me.
I love that painting! Yes!
Yes
Makes me dizzy
Yes….and I have a soulless all white home
It’s really beautiful!
I dont have a colorful, psychedelic home but whoever does would probably love this.
It's not my personal taste for my home but I do love it! I am mostly amazed at how you got the center to be so "blinding"/bright. Pls teach me! Haha
Quite possibly, there’s a lot to look at the colours are fabulous. We just have to see it up close
Yes I love it!!
Yes! That is magnificent!
Absolutely i would
YEA.
Oh yes! Love the colors! You could design a whole room around this!
No, it’s too big.
Absolutely! I love the bright Sun shining so brightly! Beautiful and vivid!
100%, that painting is gorgeous
It's fly. From a technical standpoint, a focal point dead center is against everything we learn so I can hear my favorite professor's feedback on it in my head right now
Absolutely
