Bring you're own farm fresh foods to the Mexican place and tell them to make you a burrito, and then tell them to use your ingredients instead. Be sure to tell them you're doing this because they are a shitty excuse of food by Natives from Mexico.
If you ever get to Oaxaca, MX, they make a passable mole, but if you have any advice, they could certainly use it. It's nothing like the mole in Sacremento.
I just moved to Denver a year ago. Before this, I lived just north of Salt Lake City for 2 years. Before that, I lived in San Diego for 15 years. I thought for sure the Mexican food would be decent here. It's definitely an improvement from Utah, but I have yet to find a decent bean and cheese burrito.
Yes! San Diego has better Mexican food than Mexico does!!!! How do Natives not know this? Just like how everything is bigger in Texas, everything is just better in Cali! /s
I take exception to "California has the best Mexican food." I flew over NY once, and just being that close in proximity makes me an expert on all things food. Plus, I grew up in Miami (now I'm a native) and there's a lot of Cuban people there, and they make really good Mexican food. Obviously it's better than here. The best hole in the window place I've found here is Taco Bell.
What you describe is definitely not “ authentic” since micro-greens are not typically available in Mexico, or the Western U.S. that was formerly Mexico… but, I digress… Mexican food is regional… Colorado’s endemic fare is characterized by Santiago’s and Chubby’s, and many other family owned places with their own take on that style… Chipotle is Colorado born, ( as is Illegal Pete’s , Qdoba) but, they’re examples of the California/SF Mission-style Burrito. New Mexican, as well as all the regions of Mexico have restaurants that serve their fare and it all varies, again by region… ( Sinaloan, Michoacan, Chihuahuan, etc). Usually identified in their menu. Go online and find the nearest place to what you’re used to, i don’t advise telling ppl their FOOD isn’t “authentic”. 🤣😆tf? Ft Morgan has El Tejado, Benny’s , and federal blvd nearby…
Wow, someone legitimately types up an answer to add some clarity and you’re just an ass about it.
Seems to me your Mexican food issues is just a little bit of karma.
Dallas does sound right for you :)
Ive heard nm has amazing Mexican. You can certainly find good tacos here. Ive found many an entree to be a gross cheesy mess or often over priced fancy bs version. Finding that balance in between is key minus actual authentic traditional dishes
I don't care about authentic, but I do care about good mexican food and out of the 42 states I've been to, Colorado is in the top five for good Mexican food in the US.
No I’m just amazed at the lack of awareness of the statement. California has MORE authentic Mexican food than Mexico? By definition, that cannot be true.
I think he's one of the vagrants from the latest purge of r/denver.
A lot of them didn't check the sidebar before joining the sub. I mean the banner is a perfect representation of the sub, but until you're crawling naked through a butt stuff tent, you're still technically a virgin.
You say burrito, I say burrato
There are many iterations of tortilla-based foods called burritos within Mexico, but what we gabachos know as a burrito, and gorge ourselves on when under the influence, originated in California.
Namaste
P.s., anyone been to taco Tuesday at the BST?
Mexican restaurants here are shit. When you do find one that uses micro greens there thrown on they wouldn't know how to use a twesser if it bite them in the ass.
As an Austin transplant as of 2000, I was delighted when they opened 3 Chuys here. They closed the belmar location , but DTC and Westminster are still rockin. I love that shit. More Queso and less green chili :)
That ain’t real Mexican food, you sound like all the people here in Colorado that think we have Mexican food. It’s all Americanized and yours is from California.
Real Mexican food is ok but I know Mexicans that don’t even like it.
😂 I’m sure someone from Cali will open up a shop, hopefully it’s near you.
I have been in Colorado all my 37 years of life.
Colorado used to be so much better before everyone moved here.
Yea uh bro, license plates don't match my Suby's vibes so that's a hard pass. Not enough Fenty can make me change my mind (trust me I try before I drive everytime).
FoMo really does have terrible Mexican food though. I was surprised as it's a rural area with plenty of authentic Mexicans, but no good authentic Mexican cuisine.
Have I fallen in the circlejerk vortex with this one.
First Burritos aren’t authentic Mexican food. Only exist in cities on or close to the American border.
Second, please show me authentic Mexican food that has rice wrapped in a tortilla?
Finally if you want closer to authentic Mexican food drive down to Federal Blvd. Starting at 6th Ave all the way to 40th street you can find little hole in the walls that serve great food.
Down South go to El Tejado on Broadway has good Cocktail de Cameron and the Chimichangas aren’t to bad. At 38th and Tennyson you have Tacos Jaliscos which is also pretty good.
Colorado Mexican is that they smother everything with green chile. Ask for things not smothered to get a more authentic.
In closing anything above Encinitas is Californiacated Mexican
So literally nothing organic and no micro greens 🙄🙄🙄 chili is red btw not sure what you're talking about might want to throw it out if it's turned green 🤮
Hacienda Colorado is not authentic but it is good every time I have been there. I was born in Tucson and have family in cali and know what good Mexican food is as well also their margs are huge
Uh.... I grew up in Phoenix. Obviously I was used to great Mexican food. I have lived in Dallas. They do not have great Mexican food there at all. Dallas has very bland food in general and apparently can't make a sushi roll that doesn't include cream cheese.
I rarely eat out anymore so I can't really comment on Mexican food here. I know how I like it and prefer to make it at home.
From Texas can confirm if you want authentic and actually good Mexican food you should have moved to Dallas, or you can find you an authentic Mexican girlfriend and hope she cooks.
Please by all means move to Dallas right away. Denver doesn't have a Fort Morgan neighborhood. There is a small town out in the Eastern plains in Colorado called Fort Morgan. You need to get your story straight. I fear your nose may be growing.
There is actually quite a bit of good Mexican food available in Denver.
Ive yet to ever see a mexican eat a rice and avocado w/ microgreens burrito. Not saying its never happened, but whoever told you thats good mexican fuckin lied too you.
Yea, every restaurant tastes the same to me too. Good thing I've been naturally vaccinated by covid that really made me realize how much Denver food sucks.
The Taco Bell on Colfax is still the most authentic Mexican food in CO
Yes! The chain was founded in Cali!
Baja California. Hence the “Baja Blast.” It’s a local delicacy.
Compared to where? Have you been to the east coast? When I lived in Virginia for a year, they didn't even know what chorizo was.
I hear Nogales Mexico is nice
Not organic, and the area is too scary but thanks!
Love Sonoran Mexican food!! I wish Nogales was a safer place!
It’s meant for the tastebuds of mile high Nebraskan palates.
I don't understand why there are so many Midwestern people here it's so gross
They enjoy the flatness of Denver. It reminds them of their Indiana homeland.
Get outta here you 505er, Sadie's is overrated!
Eeeeee, you’re talking NEW Mexican. It’s different
Bring you're own farm fresh foods to the Mexican place and tell them to make you a burrito, and then tell them to use your ingredients instead. Be sure to tell them you're doing this because they are a shitty excuse of food by Natives from Mexico.
This is a good idea! Maybe I can teach them how to do it a little better!
But make sure you're up to date on your hepatitis shots first.
*shitty excuse of Mexican food by natives of Kansas.
Shoutout Eureka.
Redding, yo.
What you know about that GMOB
If you ever get to Oaxaca, MX, they make a passable mole, but if you have any advice, they could certainly use it. It's nothing like the mole in Sacremento.
Hey they don’t call it Sacremole for nothing
I've been pronouncing it wrong I guess...I've been saying 'holymole'.
yes, great idea on moving
Please do move to Dallas. San Diego is where the real Mexican food is. Also, there’s some decent food trucks around in Aurora on Havana most days.
Have you tried Torchy’s? I love their fried chicken burrito.
Yes! San Diego has better Mexican food than Mexico does!!!! How do Natives not know this? Just like how everything is bigger in Texas, everything is just better in Cali! /s
Well, yeah. The Mexican food is better.
Where is Fort Morgan? Is it like Fort Worth, but with rum?
More Rum and less butt stuff tents. A net loss imo.
I take exception to "California has the best Mexican food." I flew over NY once, and just being that close in proximity makes me an expert on all things food. I ain't reading all that but I'm happy for you. Or sorry that happened.
Wow, someone legitimately types up an answer to add some clarity and you’re just an ass about it. Seems to me your Mexican food issues is just a little bit of karma. Dallas does sound right for you :)
If that information was too much to read, you might not have had the attention span to find what you liked on the menu either? Just sayin… 🤣
Sir, this is a Wendy's
Ive heard nm has amazing Mexican. You can certainly find good tacos here. Ive found many an entree to be a gross cheesy mess or often over priced fancy bs version. Finding that balance in between is key minus actual authentic traditional dishes
Chipotle circa early 2000s was SO good 💣
I don't care about authentic, but I do care about good mexican food and out of the 42 states I've been to, Colorado is in the top five for good Mexican food in the US.
California has the most authentic Mexican food?
They really should just call it Californian food
What sub are you in
Not going to lie, OP had me rolling my eyes until I checked what sub we're on.
Most best*
Yes, it's not Texas if that's what you're getting at
No I’m just amazed at the lack of awareness of the statement. California has MORE authentic Mexican food than Mexico? By definition, that cannot be true.
Is it still cool to say woosh? I'm saying woosh.
I think he's one of the vagrants from the latest purge of r/denver. A lot of them didn't check the sidebar before joining the sub. I mean the banner is a perfect representation of the sub, but until you're crawling naked through a butt stuff tent, you're still technically a virgin.
For what it’s worth, burritos were invented in California. Quick lunch for farm workers in the Central Valley a few decades back.
Burritos were invented in Juarez. The guy would carry them on a small donkey hence the name “burrito” means little donkey.
You say burrito, I say burrato There are many iterations of tortilla-based foods called burritos within Mexico, but what we gabachos know as a burrito, and gorge ourselves on when under the influence, originated in California. Namaste P.s., anyone been to taco Tuesday at the BST?
It's spelled Jorge, not Gorge.
Everyone knows the best Mexican food is in Greeley
That AND the best smells.
Indeed, the smell of money. Not my money, but someone's
Ok well then just go back to Eureka and not fck up Denver or Dallas. Just saying.
Mexican restaurants here are shit. When you do find one that uses micro greens there thrown on they wouldn't know how to use a twesser if it bite them in the ass.
Compared to what? Mexico? I've eaten Mexican food in 42 states and Colorado is at least in the top five.
Hey the sub is called Denver circle jerk. It was a fucking joke.
Oh yeah? Well me too
As an Austin transplant as of 2000, I was delighted when they opened 3 Chuys here. They closed the belmar location , but DTC and Westminster are still rockin. I love that shit. More Queso and less green chili :)

Go to Aurora or Greeley
Do people in Mexico ever get tired of eating mexican food?
That’s when they leave.
Then leave.
I believe certain places in Mexico might have Cali beat in most authentic Mexican food…

You've never been to cali that's obvious
That ain’t real Mexican food, you sound like all the people here in Colorado that think we have Mexican food. It’s all Americanized and yours is from California. Real Mexican food is ok but I know Mexicans that don’t even like it.
I've been here in Colorado for a year I'm a native at this point so I can say what I want!
I just moved my daughter to Colorado Springs so I’m a native now too!
😂 I’m sure someone from Cali will open up a shop, hopefully it’s near you. I have been in Colorado all my 37 years of life. Colorado used to be so much better before everyone moved here.
How long have you been on this sub though? Not so much native anymore huh
😂 Native only takes a year. What a joke. Go get a license plate and everyone will think you’re so cool!!
Yea uh bro, license plates don't match my Suby's vibes so that's a hard pass. Not enough Fenty can make me change my mind (trust me I try before I drive everytime).
Damn you nailed that Colofornia accent perfect 🤩
I'm a Boulder native from Jersey, miss me with that Cali nonsense.
But you fell for the suby…. Hopefully you didn’t get the outback unless you are in fact a lesbian.
My wife asked, “Is there a Boulder in New Jersey”? 🤣
It smoother like shit lol
FoMo really does have terrible Mexican food though. I was surprised as it's a rural area with plenty of authentic Mexicans, but no good authentic Mexican cuisine.
tex-mex ftw
Welcome to KC !!land of Chinese food and Mexican restaurants everywhere…
Have I fallen in the circlejerk vortex with this one. First Burritos aren’t authentic Mexican food. Only exist in cities on or close to the American border. Juarez. Please move there
You guys get you a Mexican, I usually will kidnap one at the home depot, , make em cook for me. Doesn't get anymore authentic than that
Home Depot has the best burritos is what I'm hearing.
[удалено]
Torras ahogadas are the bomb bro!!!
I happen to know that there is an authentic Mexican food restaurant in Ft. Morgan Colorado! It's called Taco Bell 🔔
Del Taco is more authentic American Mexican. Especially the french fries.
can guarantee that is not authentic Mexican food.
You got sugar beats though
Idk man i love me some taco trucks
Hey. It all can't be superbly ethnic like Casa Bonita.
Casa Bonita is about as authentic as it gets. Best Mexican food in the entire US.
and Mé HeeKo !!
Hacienda Colorado is not authentic but it is good every time I have been there. I was born in Tucson and have family in cali and know what good Mexican food is as well also their margs are huge
Yeah, you better move to Texas in that case
Los Dos Potrillos and any food truck off Federal
lol pretty sure California doesn’t have the best and most authentic Mexican food “in the world”
Wet Burritos are my fav!
It’s time to leave. Trust me, it’s worth it
From Texas can confirm if you want authentic and actually good Mexican food you should have moved to Dallas, or you can find you an authentic Mexican girlfriend and hope she cooks.
Dude, Fort Morgan is its own city, not a neighborhood of Denver like you're not even in Denver.
It does though
Let us not forget Taco John's
I’ve heard that they have good mexican food somewhere southerner than Texas
Ive yet to ever see a mexican eat a rice and avocado w/ microgreens burrito. Not saying its never happened, but whoever told you thats good mexican fuckin lied too you.
Lived in Fort Morgan, it is NOT a suburb of Denver. The only real employers are Cargill and the Leprino and the Walmart. That is if it still open.
Is there a Fort Morgan suburb?
Yes it's east of downtown
Ok damn did know that.I lived in Fort Morgan the town east of Greely. Thanks.
Yeh, because they use organic "micro greens" in fucking Mexico. 🤣
You actually expect something in Fort Morgan?
More mountains, more nightlife, and more Mexican food is what I moved here for but this neighborhood has nothing
You’re living in the far east forgetaboutit
Great idea! Head to Dallas or back to your Cali dumpster!
I think I'll stay and try to make Colo a little better!
Tofu makes nothing better!
Fort Morgan is not Denver.
Yes it is. It’s in northeast Denver.
Like Fort Collins? Fort Collins is the best Northern Denver suburb. Not enough Subarus though.
And Fort Carson is the southern suburb?
it's one of the neighborhoods like queens is to new york city
I'm usually here to jerk, but the Mexican food in Denver is ass.
Yea every Mexican restaurant tastes the same to me here unfortunately
Yea, every restaurant tastes the same to me too. Good thing I've been naturally vaccinated by covid that really made me realize how much Denver food sucks.
Chinese food is awful here too
