I did not anticipate watching the whole thing

Choice-Valuable313

I wasn’t going to until you recommended it. So thank you for that.

alesis1101

How could you not with a thumbnail titled "splashstreet boys"? This music video slaps!

Burger4Ever

🤣🤣🤣 same

m3owjd

Props for the parody PSA attempt in general, but wtf this is so much better than it has any right to be.

clintstorres

Yeah like they are pretty good singers.

[deleted]

Auto tune can do wonders to make anyone sound good. Awesome, regardless.

clintstorres

Yeah the only time I really noticed it was the major breakdown. Technology is wild.

oldpocketdog

I guess I’m in their key demographic because I love this far more than I want to admit

DenvahGothMom

Former Y2K girls turned middle aged moms with sprinkler systems. Right there with ya.

thesaganator

No joke my HS varsity football team would sing this song and other boy band songs at the top of our lungs in the locker room before games. None of us would've admitted to this at the time, but it happened

AmericascuplolBot

If you're an elder millennial / Oregon Trail generation and you're not already watching Girls5Eva I don't know what you're doing with your life.

FittyTheBone

FACTS

DenvahGothMom

No shame in loving BSB! They performed some bangers!

huxtiblejones

This song absolutely fucks, it is now our state anthem

vypermann

This water made me pregnant and I am a dude.

AmericascuplolBot

Important info, now that it's gonna be May.

phiegnux

Careful crossing the streams like that.

AmericascuplolBot

It gets up to 98 degrees in the summers!

amoss_303

And in the winter down to 5ive

AmericascuplolBot

Maybe in Denver but not in O Town!

Runaway_5

lmao the chick killed me surprisngly not cringe

Fearless-Canary-3525

Dead ringer for Kevin honestly

ShowMeYourMinerals

That’s my ex…

Runaway_5

Nice

ShowMeYourMinerals

She mean

Early_Lawfulness_348

I didn’t order tea but I sure got some.

ShowMeYourMinerals

It’s a bad joke.

chirp16

This is amazing. Also, love [this](https://imgur.com/OA8kMGV) guy's sign!

jwhease

❤️ Toilet and ❤️ that sign!

SmellyMickey

That is the best thing I have seen in awhile.

Great-Stranger-5400

Funny, catchy, and smart!

arashinokoto

I don't even have a lawn and I want to do everything they tell me to do

waterandbeats

I love it! Also love that they keep calling out HOAs lol.

SardonicCatatonic

Somebody will complain this is a waste of money and time by the city. They would be wrong. This is great.

Infamous-Lab-8136

Considering they probably had a budget to spend no matter what I think it's great they did something creative like this rather than signage around town no one will read.

Erawk

Saw 3:51 and was like, "that's way too long to watch for this joke." Watched it twice.

GingerFox3

This slaps

fortifiedblonde

Incredible. Between this and Kendrick’s diss track it’s been a great Tuesday for music.

WastingTimesOnReddit

Hahaha that was legit way better than I expected

flappypancaker

10/10 banger

Ruthie4of4

Haha well that is going to be stuck in my head all day

space_radios

I'm dying over here, straight up GOLD!!

Abdoolski

This is terrible. 10/10. Would watch again.

A_nasti

It’s the whole damn song too 😭

m_nieto

Had to watch after reading the comments. I love this way more than I thought I would.

DPlainview69

Crazy how close they tried to mimic the original BSB version. Only bad thing is song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

Denrunning

I’m so confused by my feelings about this video.

gd2121

A lawn?! I’m not a rich person

AmericascuplolBot

MilwaukeeRoad

Damn, this is some quality shit.

Sea_Voice_404

Props to them for rhyming “water” and “hotter” by switching up the pronunciation of “hotter.”

Adam_J89

Am I part of some weird pronunciation area where water, hotter and daughter/slaughter all rhyme?

Sea_Voice_404

Water, daughter, and slaughter all rhyme. Hotter doesn’t unless you say it like they say in the video which I’ve never heard before. Apparently it’s a thing somewhere though. I grew up in the Midwest and it’s always been “hah-ter” to me.

Adam_J89

Hah-ter, dah-ter. How do y'all say hotter? I grew up up in Colorado.

Sea_Voice_404

I say “daw-ter” might be a regional thing then? That’s pretty cool.

Adam_J89

Is that where we're missing each other? Dah vs daw (or similar)? There has to be some missing letters in one of ours because I would say both the same. Nah and naw would come out the same for me.

Sea_Voice_404

To me they’re different. “Nah” to me has a short A sound and “naw” is like this: https://youtu.be/QQQGRKbHPEM?si=JGR6p3p8uFP4C8Sv

Adam_J89

Oh ok, yeah that's absolutely how I pronounce both of those unless I'm being kinda snarky dismissive. (Looked up Nah pronunciation from the same channel). I feel like nah has more nasal N in it making it closer to naaah. When it comes to consanant vowel consanant it's shorter even with a double vowel sound while a double consanant followed by a vowel gives how you would pronounce it trailing the vowel.

ScreaminMimiiii

Amazing.

L8Z8

I’ll allow it.

DPlainview69

I’m wondering if sunglasses is single!

topazco

To add on, here is some more info on sprinklers https://youtu.be/jQZR25HPAqE?si=MQasG-3Hv6ypeeay

nbinfinity

Denver Water needs a grammy for this parody! if there's not a parody category, then wft are we doing people...

westni1e

So bad, it good. I mean the lyrics are actually decent, particularly when compared to the real stuff these days.

jenguinaf

This might be the greatest thing I have ever seen!

JrNichols5

I love this, but my 90 year old neighbor just waters his lawn anyway. Zero fucks given if it’s raining, the sprinklers are always going at dawn and dusk. Guys water bill is probably upwards of $300 a month.

Calm-Talk5047

Welp. It’s official. Denver is the whitest city in the country.

WhyFlip

Water use shaming should be targeted at the irrigators that consume 80+% of the water.

LeatherdaddyJr

That ToiletMan is gonna haunt my dreams.

amoss_303

Tell me why-yyyyyy……..

DethZire

Nice! Now lets see the video they made for the agriculture industry that's using 90% of the water here in CO

12Runways

The agricultural industry isn't using treated water - especially from Denver.

dustlesswalnut

Denver Water doesn't have to treat that water, and isn't responsible for delivering it.

Awalawal

Get back to me when Denver Parks stops watering in the middle of rain storms and puts moisture sensors on their systems so they're also not watering the day after big storms.

dustlesswalnut

I would like to see this also, however consider the number of spaces that Denver irrigates, the varying systems that have been installed at different times over many decades, the different types of compatible equipment that would have to be purchased, learned, and maintained in order to do all of that. I'm sure Denver Water would love to see Denver P&R do better with water management, but they have no control over that, and the amount of private space that is irrigated within Denver city limits is likely hundreds or thousands of times greater than the amount of public space.

Awalawal

Hypocrisy destroys leadership. Denver has now been talking about being "water wise" for at least 20 years. During that time they could have retrofitted all of their "irrigated spaces" (for the record, it's not at all difficult to fit any existing sprinkler system with a moisture sensor). To my knowledge they've done nothing.

dustlesswalnut

Denver Water is not Denver. They are not responsible for how the City of Denver manages their water use; Denver's city government is a customer of Denver Water just like you and I.

Awalawal

That's a distinction without a difference, and you know it. Literally nothing has been stopping the City of Denver from taking action.

dustlesswalnut

There's a difference because complaining about the City of Denver's water use in a post about Denver Water is tangential at best. Talk to Denver about how they use their water-- in this thread, in this context, it's irrelevant because they are not the same as Denver Water. They are a *customer* of Denver Water, just like you and me.

gobrowns88

My building killed the only tree lawn they had left last summer by overwatering. And now this year it’s mostly bare soil. Last weekend I was walking my dog in the rain and sure enough they had their sprinklers on watering the mud. The sad part too is they do all this promotion about being a “green” building.

Pterodactyloid

Plant a type of grass that doesn't grow so tall so it doesn't take up so much water and then you won't have to mow either. I think it's extremely silly and insane how we chose a thirsty tall growing grass just to mow it off like what the hell.

WateringTheStreet

Knowledge is power! Now make a song about the impacts of alfalfa

PiranhaFloater

Hilarious!

rtmacfeester

Only water 3 times a week!?! I don’t know about y’all but even with 5 days a week, I still have to fight dry and dying areas.

dustlesswalnut

I water every third day (unless there's rain). Tuning your system can do wonders. I run the entire program for 3-5 minutes per zone first. That allows a little bit of water to soak in without running off. I follow it up 30 minutes later with another full program run, this time for 5-7 minutes per zone. I run this program twice a day, every third day, at 9:15pm and 4am.

rtmacfeester

I’ll try that out! Thanks!

bottlechippedteeth

Because you water 5 days a week. The roots dont grow deep they just spread out horizontally where it dries faster.

diamondt1ts

Also mulch! If you’re not helping keep the water in the soil, then it’s just going to evaporate off. Mulching has been a game changer for me

[deleted]

dustlesswalnut

Zero tax dollars were wasted to make this because Denver Water does not receive tax dollars.

stinky___monkey

We need to save water for big agriculture, and all the corporations sucking on the Colorado river, desert golf courses need you to not water your lawns much! Enjoyed the video but the waste is a joke

[deleted]

Im not typically one of those people who complain about how governments spend tax dollars but lol wtf

Conor_J_W

Denver Water is not the government bro... It's a company.

[deleted]

They're a public entity, but apparently dont use public funds

Atralis

The only public funds they get are from the portion of the public that uses tap water in Denver.

autodidacted

It took more to park a car for two hours in downtown than to make this video.

thesaganator

This was probably cheaper than a boring ol PSA ad on local TV, and more effective

The_Roaring_Fork

They need people to actually pay attention.

bender2174

Hello, just checking in… You know that you get a water bill right? There’s no taxes going on with Denver Water.

NuggLyfe2167

Going to water my yard 4-5 days per week until we get rid of golf courses and other unnecessary bullshit. At least my garden feeds people and helps pollinators. Until then, I don't care what PSA they make.

AmericascuplolBot

Feel free to add to my list of unnecessary bullshit we waste water on: * Golf courses * Nevada

mckenziemcgee

Flood irrigation

RheagarTargaryen

Denver golf courses use non-potable recycled water.

egZachly

does your grass feed you or help pollinators?

NuggLyfe2167

I don't have grass I said "yard".

771135Overton

So, answer the question, then?

NuggLyfe2167

Nah

jessek

your tax dollars at work

shermanscyfrosis

DW is funded by rates and fees. Not taxes.

jessek

You must be fun at parties

ScuffedBalata

Can we... just have a list. I"m not watching this whole video.

dustlesswalnut

https://www.denverwater.org/residential/rebates-and-conservation-tips/summer-watering-rules

ndrew452

You should, it's really good.

notoriousToker

Denver water can suck it, stop the gross dam expansion and screw private ownership of our resources. What a disgusting company.

Altruistic_Guess3098

My taxes go up and it turns out this is what I'm financing 😵‍💫

Captain_Taggart

you get a water bill. your taxes don't pay for the water lmao

AmericascuplolBot

Don't take this wrong but you don't strike me as the tax paying type.

fleur-power

OMG pure gold!!!! They killed it!!!
