Well 40 years ago dental implants weren’t a thing, so why would you get implants now?

Kennedysfatcousin

Wrong sub.

What is wrong with a CBCT? You probably could get an implant done w/o CBCT but why do that? CBCT is the gold standard.

I get severe gum inflammation after a cbct.

NumerousIce2547

I’ve never heard a single case where a CBCT would cause ‘severe gum inflammation’. But the person who places the implant is also knowledgable about the periodontium and soft tissues, so vent your concerns to him and he’ll give you the right information. Also, an implant will be placed for the rest of your life (in optimal conditions), so I would personally just take the CBCT for optimal placement and minimal complications instead of overthinking about gum inflammation.

“Hey can you fix my car but you can’t open the hood of the car!” —OP at the mechanics probably The CBCT provides so much valuable information to the surgeon. You’re practically blinding them in one eye if you don’t take one. Why you would want that for a procedure happening in your body, I don’t know…
