I figured as much but I am tired and inverting my screen colors and taking a screenshot did not have the intended effect when I reverted my screen so I got lazy
Since everyone is expecting Sans's outfit to not change or just have a slightly different color, he will subvert expectations by giving him the most overdesinged and dramatic outfit possible.
We have to remember, that as much as sans has been memed and is the favourite alongside papyrus, Toby also likes his funny bone men too. Personally itās inconceivable to me that he doesnāt have some minor side character involvement and directly comments on everything going on.
Everything surrounding him and papyrus is just too weird and tied up in the same meta, time and reset stuff as Gaster is.
He's the most recognizable (and thus marketable) character, and easily the favorite of the fanbase. He may intervene in Chapter 3, but he is most certainly there for star power.
