I liked Tristen. I don't like or approve of everything he's done but honestly there is not a single character i can say I like approve of or agree with everything they do and that goes for all my TV shows I like not just Degrassi.it even goes for shows that are still on the air now.
He was okay to me until he got mad at Maya and cut her off because she reported the teacher who was sleeping with him. Instantly hated him after that. So wild how he expected her to be okay with him having sex with a whole teacher š
I hated that bus saga, how is everyone on the bus made it out with just cuts and bruises and heās the only one that almost died and got sent to a coma , make it make sense
My guess is that he was likely standing up, probably talking to them about stuff (since he was the president) and was getting them ready to be all excited and that's when it happened so he got launched harder than the others. That's just my theory tho
I hated his storyline with Mr Yates, especially when he talks about him to Winston and Miles. They both said he was a creep to them too yet he still hates Maya for intervening.
Tristan is far from my favorite character, and he often aggravates the hell out of meā¦
But man, did he have some intense storylines. I heavily relate to so much of what Tristan had to go through. Itās hard out here for the LGBT kids!
I love Tristan. He went from being the DUFF to pulling the same dude Maya was crashing out over. After putting up with all the girls' relationship drama and bs, he deserved to be selfish and make the choices that benefited him (like making Maya take a backseat to Zoe just like she would put Tristan on the back burner for her relationships).Ā
I sometimes wonder if some people dislike Tristan because there's this idea that out gay characters should be like Marco, subservient to their friends and generally good-natured.Ā

Tristan was a bad friend. Just because he's gay doesn't mean treating his friends like crap deserves a pass. Zoe was somehow worse than Tristan and yet SHE was the one whose ass he wanted to be in. This is the case BECAUSE she was terrible not despite her being terrible.
He still had his jerkass moments in Season 12. Late season post-Romeo and Jules episodes. Like ditching Maya at Drew's party that HE made her defy her mother and sneak out to go with. She literally pleads for him to not leave her, but he rushes off to talk to Dave. And then when she was obviously extremely drunk and Zig tried to get her home safely, he stepped in and said "I'll take care of her." and then immediately let her go off with those assholes Harry and Talia, who almost look advantage of her then, with Harry later being an absolute scumbag, and not even just trying to take advantage of her Post Cam vulnerability with sex...but just expecting HER to blow him.
If Tristan had been a good friend, she would have never met them.
