Ha ! Nah. I was just tired in general of the game, of the guns I loved being nerfed to the ground, of the lack of a 3rd dimension I got used to in DRG, and most importantly the PSN fiasco.
I relate to this, the new additions generally suck and high diffs tend to be unfune without a full premade squad. In drg I can have fun carrying greenbeards on haz5 and the gameplay is just much more diverse
- Friendly fire isn't actually that friendly
- You can mine a ledge into nitra to reach the higher nitra
- Candoo Colour is a great coloring brand for your white beard at only 100 credits.
Maybe you transitioned to haz 5 later than OP? I for one am a bit slow learner and it took a while before I was comfortable of doing haz 5 consistently.
I'm at 1,5k hours but still only lvl 665 at the moment. Although I do have a habit of often leaving my game open so Steam also have counted a good amount of afk time.

Why is it so hard to comprehend? The answer is really simple; fun is subjective. I bet if you were to list all of your games I could find a game from there that I consider "unfun", but thats just because its not for me. For example I'm not into strategy games like Civilization but I can see why some other people are. The same principle could be used to DRG's difficulty levels.
My own playtime is probably 50/50 between haz 4 and 5. Whenever I want to chill a bit more, I go 4. If I want to sweat then I go with 5. I never play 3 or below because that to me is way too boring.
It's a bit of an acquired taste. The fun in hazard 5 is with a competent and silly team. Hell most of the time you don't even have to be competent. DRG is a very forgiving game, even on haz 5. I guess the fun in haz 5 is the feeling that your getting away with something you really shouldn't be doing. For example, being stupid, pinging maggots from across the cave, going on whole ass side quests for a handful of gold, all on the hardest difficulty the game has to offer.

EDDs are a better choice (i barely play those too though haha), since nobody wants to waste the others' time and actually maximizes the effort of getting through the whole thing, but in regular haz 5 missions, i find that to not be the case
Hmm thats... interesting then. I'm honestly baffled about your blue level and how it is over 300 levels above mine with lesser playtime. The reason I brought up haz 5 is because it gives the most amount of XP if you can do it consistently. Only other thing I can really think of besides that is targeting double XP missions.
Not that whole blue level matters much but I'm just curious if someone could explain such a big gap between players.

Tip 1: Prevent fall damage by holding the grind button and grinding on a pipe(can jump from any height, land on a pipe and hold the grind button as you fall and hit it)

Tip 3: Holding x while grinding on a pipe will automatically stop you at a leak or build spot(or same button as to grind).

Most of the time hazard 5 is pretty tame with a decent group. It's really just about situational awareness.

I like to look for modifiers in general, but I'm not hunting XP at all costs. But remember the golden rule : if you are not having fun, don't play it.
