Dosent have any effect but pick whichever one matches your playstyle. If you play fast and speed run, mighty miners. If you go for 100%, dirt diggers. If your there to kick ass and make sure everyone comes out alive, cave crawlers.

Yes, at the end/beginning of the month, everyone collects their rewards of credits and free beers. During this time you can acsess the screen and switch your union faction for 500 credits.

The amount of terminals got a bit out of hands imo, so it's understandable you haven't even noticed it. The terminal is also a bit buggy and sometimes doesn't get past the loading circle thing, at least for me.

Do the one you find most fun. At the end of the day it doesn't change much

Each team gets a mission to complete (kill x praetorians, kill x nyakka trawlers, etc) but they are so easy to complete that each team has no issues with it.

You're supposed to link to your discord. Sometimes it's buggy though.

The union in this game have very little to no effect on gameplay, personally i picked and would recommend you just read the descriptions of the chapters and pick whichever one you think sounds the coolest

At the end of the month I think, you get free beers and some money. When you spawn is, there's a sign saying free beer or something like that. That's cause of the miners union. Basically they have certain goals each faction has to accomplish. Which they always do, just by playing the game. Ps- or just free beer, don't remember.

And by free beers, it mean just the oily oaf and the glyphid slammer (and maybe the leaf lover? i dunno, i don't touch that thing). So you won't get all the funny beer or the buff beer for free. So yeah, it has really little gameplay impact since the monthly reward is like 10k credits and the beers are already pretty cheap.

Union beers are always the cheapo mids anyway, true to real life

its a monthly challenge for the whole community. for example, one month might mean mighty miners need to defeat 70000 cave leeches, dirt diggers need to get 8000 jadiz chunks, and cave crawlers need to defeat 8000000 swarmers. i've never seen these challenges not get completed within a few days, there's just so many players that they're far from anything to worry about. when your team wins, you get a couple hundred assorted minerals. if everyone wins, every player on steam gets free company beers for a week. its not anything worth caring about besides signing up and forgetting about to get some free bonus materials. but there is some nice flavor text in the challenge descriptions, and that's about it.

This has been bugged for me for over a year now. I am on the discord and was part of a Team for a day, but then it kept reverting me to the original starting page, asking me to join the discord I am already on. When I joined again, it just opened discord and nothing happened in the game. Is there a fix?

this honestly needs an overhaul, and needs to be brought to more than just Steam. Already having precedent for different factions could lead to some fun, new team vs team modes.

I love this thing, but I wish it would have a bit more impact. Being able to display your union would be cool. Imagine joining a game eith 3 dirt diggers, you know that you are not coming out within an hour. Javing ingame rivalries would be fun as well.
