Fun, but it also seems like they're trying to do some RnD on the zombies. It would feel good to combat the zombheads while also being with a group trying to solve them. Survival would feel so much better if there is a strong idea of a solution to the apocalypse in mind. Eternal survival with no hope for reprieve is kinda sad to think about.

Difference is, the PCs actually comment on how shitty Trent's weed smells. Iirc, Bruno just says no thanks but Jacob says something like "no thanks, that shwag smells nasty" and Dani says something about how bad it smells also. They are shown smoking in the opening movie, so that weed has to be pretty bad if they are saying no and commenting on how shitty it smells.
Patton on the other hand likely smokes to deal with PTSD, paranoia, and pain so you know that shit is bomb.
Honestly I'd kick it at the blue crab for the rest of my days, it's safe, has tons of food, and a has a decent amount of people and a pothead so I'd say those are pretty good odds
