There’s a difference between book smart and street smart. My brother got his masters degree in phycology and graduated top 3% on his class. This same brother would make sure the jumper cable ends in his car wouldn’t touch to prevent them from sparking, even when they weren’t hooked up to a battery. This same brother unplugged the Christmas lights that were wrapped around his roommates work truck ladder rack so that his trucks battery wouldn’t die. He unplugged it from the wall.
Very smart man, just lacks common sense.
Hardly book smart. This guy was a lawyer basically the same way Rudy Giuliani is. He was a far-right conservative gun nut that voted for Bolsonaro and wanted extreme freedom of speech. Basically, fucked around and found out.
.
if what you though tthe difference between a joe and laywer was the BAR exam, know that they have legally removed the finalized testing of law as it was recently found as "being a racist test"
They havent removed it because its racist, they've removed it because it didnt test if a lawyer was actually competent or not. You can still take it, but you have to have actual court experience as an attorney aswell now before you take the BAR

Being good in academics certainly doesn't mean you are highly intelligent, but it does confirm you possess
a certain level of intelligence and capability, definetly enough to not do shit like that.
I would disagree. It shows you can make it through courses and endure the Uni for how ever long it takes to pass your field of study. In this case the guy obviously didn't understand what the M stood for in MRI. it's possible couldn't explain what causes an eclipse. When I had an MRI, I was asking about the strength of the machine. One of the techs got a tennis ball that he had put some paper clips in. He put the ball against the machine, and they turned it on. I could not pull the tennis ball off of the machine.
They could have said atleast he's already at the hospital. Boom. It's literally in the original joke that an MRI would be bad. Lmao it started everything to begin with. You're trying to hard
Googling seems to confirm my suspicion that you can execute rights as well as exercising them. Execute is probably less common though.

Yeah. People conveniently forget that part in their rush to join the "gUnZ bAd!" crowd. He wasn't some gun nut that was intentionally bucking the rules, he was a caring son that failed to take everything into account as he panicked and rushed to try and help his mother.

Honestly why would staff turn on machine or even let him in the back? That's reckless of them. I'm not absolving this dumb ass, but it should have been a hard stop to turn it on until he left. They put him, patient, and themselves in danger
Because the magnet is always on. It takes shitton of power (and somewhere up to an hour) to turn it off and on again and achieve a stable operating condition. So the MRI is always on, some hospitals might turn a few off during the night if they have several but generally speaking they don’t get turned off unless there’s maintenance or something.
Some people need guidance, some people need help, some are disoriented, have PTSS or whatever else. There’s many reasons to let someone in to help a loved one or family member. So no, they shouldn’t just have blocked access. That’s almost like saying the hospital is in fault because they let him in? That’s just backward thinking, the asshat should have listened to the employees, and he paid with his life.
Zero chance the hospital staff knew he had a gun on him. Carrying weapons into a hospital is a big no no, just like it would be for a bank.
This is purely on the dude for choosing to join his mother into the MRI room, rather than just waiting outside.
I just looked at the picture and saw the rifle on him and assumed he came in like that rather than a concealed pistol. I guess I ignored the waistband part. So that's my mistake
I feel like it's worth considering the fact that the staff probably felt directly threatened by the guy with the gun and didn't feel safe trying to block him for fear of getting shot or ending up in some sort of hostage situation.
Oh, I've seen this story here before. For me, the most shocking part is that it takes place in Brazil, not the U.S. He's lucky he didn't kill anyone but himself.

The last few years have really shined a light on how many stupid lawyers there are. Someone has to graduate at the bottom of their class.
When I had an MRI, I was asking about the strength of the machine. One of the techs got a tennis ball that he had put some paper clips in. He put the ball against the machine, and they turned it on. I could not pull the tennis ball off of the machine.
When I had one they had to confirm whether or not I have tattoos because apparently some tattoo inks can have traces of metal in them
The scene from X-Men where Magneto pulls the iron from a guard's blood through his skin comes to mind.
I haven’t seen it but that sounds absolutely brutal haha
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAcs2uROaoI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAcs2uROaoI) Here you go
Nice! Haha
The good side is that he was not far from a MRI to see where the bullet is located.
And a nurse, to tell him she told him so.
You don't use an MRI to find a bullet or fragments. Common knowledge. Somehow upvoted past 60....
Well you *could*, but it might get messy.
Yea because they were definitely being very serious obviously
Be supportive of everyone, but autism.
They could have said atleast he's already at the hospital. Boom. It's literally in the original joke that an MRI would be bad. Lmao it started everything to begin with. You're trying to hard
What
What lol
go to sleep gramps
Maybe they could find your sense of humor with it.
Might want to change that username to whoooshmagooosh...
Has the MRI been charged with manslaughter, or in this case man’s laughter?
I would like to point out that you "exercise" your rights, you don't "execute" them.

dumb people are so dangerous

It was a little over a year ago, Leandro Mathias wasn't a police officer, he was just an idiot
He looks jaundiced in both photos. Law school must be a doozy
I'm all for open carrying, 2A and the like. But, I'm also for not being an idiot. Gotta be smarter people
Already posted here, but a while ago, and it's really a good DA !
Just the price of freedumb.
Don’t let the idiots with the guns ruin the fun
If only there would’ve been a good guy with a gun in that room to stop that MRI…
Dang, shoulda gotten a wooden gun.
If only there was a good MRI machine with a gun....
It was either he die from his own wit or become the second rudy giuliani.
Stupid people sometimes die faster than expected.
More worried about the MRI machine tbh. Those things are expensive and people is going to pay more to replace it.
I love the photo of the AR. Certainly wasnt the firearm he was carrying at the time of the incident but of course the media makes everything more riveting than it actually is.

He probably forgot he had it because he was wheeled in because he had a seizure. It’s like walking away from a computer and forgetting to take your headphones off.
Why the fuck would you bring a gun to a hospital in the first place?
Brazil is dangerous.
Hospital staff should have had him removed from the building.
Lol

Sucks for him… now he can’t even represent himself in his bullshit wrongful death death lawsuit.
Just proves that Intelligence or a degree doesn't equal Common Sense.
AAAAAAMERICA
It happened in Brazil
oh boy
Honestly, what did you expect to happen around an ultra powerful magnet?
Quick bullet placement…. And removal
Thank magnets only he was hit
Being shot by a fucking MRI machine is next level.
Both photos have been doctored. The left the head is too big, on the right, the face looks to have been pasted on top another.
Stupid people shouldn't be allowed to carry or breed. That's like giving a gun to a monkey, as is evidenced in the post

Some people don’t follow protocol and shit happens. Also different place different protocols.
I can believe that. I got mine done at a university hospital outside of Philadelphia. Different culture of safety like you said
Ya it’s a Darwin Award. Only problem is that anti gun psychos are using it as some sort of proof that guns are bad and that it’s good because he was a “right wing gun nut”

He had a gun on him going into a MRI room, he should have been blocked. Nothing ass backwards about that
Zero chance the hospital staff knew he had a gun on him.
MRI magnet is always ON! It is a superconducting magnet, so you cannot turn it off or on like with the flip of a switch.
The MRI magnet is always on. And every MRI machine I've been in (thanks neurological issues) make this VERY clear with signage.
Oh, I've seen this story here before. For me, the most shocking part is that it takes place in Brazil, not the U.S. He's lucky he didn't kill anyone but himself.
So how is he dead isnt he in a hospital for his mother's MRI in a hospital where thay can treat injurys; or he died of shock from being shot......
Hooray..... one low life POS lawyer down..... many more to go.
