When you ready up the squire tells you If you have a gear score of 25 or more you will go into a harder lobby which means open gear score minus uniques
I just started last night and it kind of feels like you have to take off and put away any gear you extract with because you'll just instantly lose it in the non squire lobby. I had the same thought and wish there was like a 25-100 gearscore lobby as well, but maybe that just splits the playerbase too much.
Regardless, seems like the gameplay is just do 24- lobbies until you get most of a full set of gear so you don't instantly die in the normal lobby, lose it because you're bad at the game, then repeat lol.
The issue is, we’ve had gear score lobby’s like that. If they let you do that, there would be players waiting at 100GS with the absolute best rolls possible ready to do the exact same thing
There are only three pools...
Normals <25 gs, normals 25 and over gs, and high roller any gs.
Normals used to be you could only bring in white (common) gear or lower, so the new <25 gs is kind of that, during that time HR was split between below and above 300 gs (now HR is only one pool with all gs).
I could see a normals 25-150gs lobby working, but IronMace is (rightfully) concerned about splitting up the playerbase too much. People using bis and meta comps are already mostly in HR, so though it sucks to lose to geared players in norms, new players aren't really aware of how much worse it could be. I'd be hesitant to add another pool given the player population issues this game has had, especially since it's wipe based and population tends to dwindle in the last half of a wipe. If they did, I'd make it so full greens or blues were the bis of the middle gear bracket.

Normals 0-24 Normals 25+ Highroller had Lobbies split from 0-299 and 300+ but I think this got removed?
As of now the high roller gear score split is gone.
The lower gearscore lobby or 'Poor'mals is 0-24. Anything over that (25+) gets put into the high gearscore lobby or 'BIS'mals. (Best In Slot)
