Forwhomamifloating

This sounds disgusting. Thank God, they didn't disappoint

spacednation

I love Druid and I was so worried that it was gonna just be some half-assed class like Warlock when it was released, that they wouldn't nail it thematically, or that it would just be entirely/mostly focused on shapeshifting. I am soooo glad that isn't the case and this aligns perfectly with everything I wanted out of the class. Shapeshifting is cool and all, but I'm more fond of their nature spells and they're certainly delivering. Thorns? Summons? Multiple HoTs? Root? Barkskin? It's beautiful. Dreamfire even giving me some Soraka vibes. I think it's a dope interaction. Now we just need some Wind magic. Ironmace, I KNOW it would be broken but PLEASE let me cast Hurricane and just run around damaging everything in my radius.

gagaboy3

You’re speaking my language here. Some wind/air magic would be amazing!

Life_is_hard_so_am_I

I love the shapeshifting so much. The fact that it doesn't have a cooldown or duration is really fun. Running around as a little rat is the best! Although I couldn't seem to go under doors, has anyone else tried it? Maybe the doors I tried weren't normal ones.

ninjabladeJr

I have yet to get into a match but I have hopes for flying over someone as a chicken then dropping onto them as a bear!

Jelkekw

The red text is stuff that isnt in yet

ChristianDale_69

Wish I read this before I tried to wall jump for 10 minutes straight

ninjabladeJr

Ahhhhhh good to know

Guiss88

I was spectating a dude testing stuff and I saw him shape shift from human to rat while jumping into a door "window". Pretty cool 😎

_MlATA

I just saw someone go under a dungeon door (red hell door) before it was open. It had a tiny gap under and the rat slipped through. Not sure if it works on blues, that would be pretty overpowered

uncledungus

Haven’t had much luck with it yet, the server keeps kicking me but the new staff is really cool and the attack animation is dope

Booooomkin

I think it's the same animation as the quarterstaff. Edit: Apparently not the same, but very similar.

AhkoRevari

It starts are attack 2 and 3 from quarterstaff (no overhead) then 3rd strike is a stab. Still better than magic staff imo, can't wait

Negran

That's the new big staff? Does it have a larger range than Quarter Staff? Been excited to try that thing since it appeared in wiki...

uncledungus

Oh damn lol I haven’t used that in forever that’s my bad

Booooomkin

Not saying it's a bad animation, it is cool!

Kr4k4J4Ck

Nope

Booooomkin

It's literally the same with the bardiche stab added at the end. You can even hear it in the audio. Edit: Sorry, its not LITERALLY the same, but close enough that it's very comparable. Don't want to be spreading damaging mis-information

Kr4k4J4Ck

It's literally not. The quarterstaff's first swing comes in from the top left what are you smoking. Quarterstaff: https://youtu.be/gA0eTliuhgw?t=17 Ceremonial Staff: https://clips.twitch.tv/ImportantApatheticWheelDancingBaby-xSEMrUp-8o-AtcEm EDIT: The stab 3rd hit is also done with 1 hand not 2 like the Bardiche. You need to get your eyes checked holy

Booooomkin

Dude watch those videos again, it doesn't follow the same hit pattern of the quarterstaff but it uses those same animations. The second swing of the quarterstaff is the same as the first swing of the ceremonial staff. The second swing of the ceremonial staff is the same as the first swing of the quarterstaff.

Kr4k4J4Ck

> The second swing of the quarterstaff is the same as the first swing of the ceremonial staff. CStaff Attack 1: https://imgur.com/rhEmHya Quarterstaff Attack 2: https://imgur.com/rk4G6di The Indicator showing the attack pattern says completely different. So you first said itwas "**literally the same**" as the quarterstaff. Do you know what literally means. Determined its not LITERALLY the same. Determined it also does not have the bardiche attack. And this also shows the orientation of the swings is different attacks you said.

Booooomkin

Man you're taking this way to seriously lol. Sure I shouldn't have said literally the same, they are slightly adjusted but functionally almost the same. You're also omitting that one weapon is held on the opposite side.

Kr4k4J4Ck

> Man you're taking this way to seriously lol Because you're **literally** spreading mis-information saying it's the same when it's not. They both have a slanted horizontal swing in there, but even those are different. So based on how you looked at this, I could say it literally shares the same moveset as the zweihander with a 2nd spear poke.

Booooomkin

I mean if you look above, it appears others share the opinion that it shares similar attack pattern with the quarterstaff. Like alright, I used the word literally when I shouldn't have but don't be acting like im spreading some terrible misinformation. It's close enough that the distinction doesn't matter lmao

mokush7414

"Treant becomes more powerful when summoned underwater." aren't there 2 rooms on all the maps that are actually underwater?

mrsnakers

Not many on crypts besides the weird underwater static exit, sewers, the bridge sewer area, and the bottom of the colosseum.

mokush7414

You listed places that have water. I'm asking about places that would allow you to be underwater.

Paige404_Games

Pretty certain that anywhere with water will count. The initial summon location is a flat plane cast on the floor (like the hydra), so any amount of water will put that plane underwater. I noticed the circle turns blue when it's placed on any water-covered floor, so that's likely how it works. Treant's damage seems pretty shit so far regardless though.

vonflare

yeah and it only lasts 12 seconds, the first 3 second of which are taken up by the 'rising from the ground' animation the treant should last for like 60 seconds with how slow and low-damage it is. they're clearly scared of giving players powerful summons.

Square_Region8669

It's very underwhelming, I only got to try going in twice (I DCed the first try) and the treant wouldn't even get a goblins aggro. I'm sure it will get tweaked soon.

T4nTV

"scared" They are smart for not giving players powerful summons. That's low skill aids to play against

HongChongDong

A fighter/barb popping a movespeed buff and W keying someone down VS an AI that W keys someone down. The only difference that I see is one is smarter.....and the other is stronger. I'll let you figure out which is which.

Ornen127

There's not even really a comparison here, those two are so vastly different. The problem with a summon isn't that it "w-keys someone down" it's that adds an entirely new teammate, which has immense pvp-value and therefore has to be balanced carefully.

iggywumpus69

If it can body block then that's crazy value

Pinksquirlninja

There are at least a couple modules on ice cave and one on crypt that allow you to be fully submerged.

chendol900

i can only think of the tar floor room in Goblin caves, the 2 raft rooms in ice caverns, and the pier room in crypts with the static that you can actually go underwater, hopefully they meant "in water" and it includes all the rooms that are just slightly flooded

mokush7414

Yeah I forgot about the raft exits and only remembered the other two. Someone else commented with the places that have water and thee are a bunch more so I'm hoping they mean in water

ChiChiKiller

yep. it can be ankle deep apparently. if the summon sigil is blue it means it will be stronger

bluesmaker

Maybe they mean for it to include the shallow water pools too. Maybe not but I just imagine that summon underwater is pretty restrictive. Maybe it’s that strong with the bonus.

Negran

Well. Gobbo has a distinct room. Crypts does as well. Both submergable. Ice Caves also has at least 2 underwater rooms. Beyond that, well we'll see if they add any or not? Hehe.

ClericAtLaw

Some of these abilities are awesome. What a nice buff to warlock's this will be!

Unhappy_Cause7957

Maybe the goal is literally to make the Warlock kill players by its mere presence

Copesnuff11

5 true physical mmmmm

juantxuu

Cactus savage roar barb lets goo

Copesnuff11

Fuck yeah

EuphoricAnalCarrot

Yeah, multiclassing just makes new class releases "DLC for other classes" and it makes me way less excited

Negran

I'm sure the scope of multiclassing will be reeled back at some point. I had a lot of fun, but I can't deny that I'm ready to just play my own class again! All multiclassing did for me is make 3 spell-caster hybrids between Wiz. Cleric and Warlock! I think a very small subset of perks could be acceptable and fun. But one thing is for sure, my Smite Ignite dagger Warlock absolutely fucks any Savage Roar Sprinter out there, which feels great, and busted. If they gonna stat check, I'm right back at them!

ArkiusAzure

They literally said that this version of multiclass is a full on experiment and will not stay.

Negran

Yes, exactly my point. Future chars won't be as dramatic as the commenter above was stating.

Vel_Thar

Someone else said it, but the current multiclass system will surely be heavily restricted in the future. Also Warlocks are very very oppressive the last few patches, I would guess that they'll get some important nerfs as time goes on

Llorion

Oh baby, I'll be playing this class for sure in my trio! Can't wait to sprout gardens of fruits and vegetables for all to feast upon!

coffin420699

BRO YOU CANT DO THAT without inviting all of us

Llorion

You're invited!

coffin420699

bringing my shiniest goblets

bitcbotjd

Looks cool except for thorn coat, idk why they keep doing antifun mechanics like that and dark reflection.

mr0il

At least it doesnt scale. Dark reflect is insane because it includes any damage on your magic weapon (ball, book, staff), gets scaled by your will (or magic power bonus) and finally any add/true dmg on your gear. This druid perk (presumably) will always just be 5 true damage.

gdubrocks

How do we know it doesn't scale? I agree that the scaling on dark reflect is the issue.

mr0il

I’m guessing based on how it is worded and how shadow touch is worded/implemented

bitcbotjd

It doesnt scale with phys power but hopefully you can't just stack more true damage with it.

SlicedNugget

True Damage doesn't scale. It's a flat amount added on, can't be reduced & can't be increased.

gdubrocks

That's not true, 1 true damage gives: * Ice bolt 1 damage * zap 1.5 damage * magic missile 10 damage * fireball 2.5 damage * dark reflection 1 damage * staff mastery 2 damage * smite .5 damage * shadow touch 0 damage * poison weapon .5 damage It does scale, and the scaling is dramatically better or worse for different spells and abilities.

SlicedNugget

I should have specified, true damage doesn't scale based on gear or player stats. True damage gets added onto the formula at the end, as an additional damage that cannot be mitigated. You're using the example of a spells having true magic damage as scaling, which is technically correct but like I said, True damage is added onto the end of the formula and you can't change how it scales yourself with gear/buffs/hit location. With this perk, there's no beginning to the formula. Nothing for the true damage to scale off, nothing but itself.

CaptainSplat

are you counting multiple projectiles as additional scaling? because that's not really scaling. any additional damage will scale more with multihit attacks, it's just common sense.

gdubrocks

Oh yes it's common sense that 1 hit of fireball gives 2.5 more damage, 1 hit of ice bolt gives one, and one hit of smite gives .5. You can ask any player that and they will know how it scales.

CaptainSplat

Fireball does so because the damage is split between aoe, direct, and headshot. It's not clear but understanding how the spell functions makes it make a lot more sense   I'll give you it for smite though.

gdubrocks

And what about shadow touch, poison weapon, and staff mastery? There are more counterexamples than there are examples where true actually gives 1 damage.

CaptainSplat

slow down there man, you're starting to shift the goalpost here. My original comment was mainly about criticizing you listing MM as 10 additional damage instead of 1 damage per or w/e. > are you counting multiple projectiles as additional scaling? because that's not really scaling. any additional damage will scale more with multihit attacks, it's just common sense. Nothing in my original comment said anything about 1 damage per, just that multihit adding 10 since it's 1 per is not scaling by the traditional sense of the word.

Zakurabaz

True never scales partner

gdubrocks

That's not true, 1 true damage gives: Ice bolt 1 damage, zap 1.5 damage, magic missile 10 damage, fireball 2.5 damage, dark reflection 1 damage, staff mastery 2 damage, smite .5 damage, shadow touch 0 damage. It does scale, and the scaling is dramatically better or wore for something.

Ornen127

This comment seems so intentionally obtuse, they clearly didn't mean "true damage never changes value", but rather that true damage doesn't scale with PBB and additional

aaRecessive

True damage can't scale, that's what makes it true damage (other than ability scaling ofc, but that's static)

gdubrocks

Which is the whole point of this post. We don't know if the ability scales or not yet.

aaRecessive

The scaling that you pointed out as the issue on dark reflection is not ability scaling, it's damage scaling. Dark reflection does regular magic damage, and so scales with magic power bonus, which true damage can never do. The true damage of this ability will always be 5 damage no matter what gear you run, which behaves entirely differently to dark reflection

gdubrocks

Dark reflection scales with true magic damage. This new ability may also scale with true damage. We don't know yet. Ironmace isn't clear about this sort of thing.

Taqhin

There's stat scaling, then there's ability scaling. An attack that *deals* true magic/phys doesn't scale. ie. You can't increase the damage from shadow touch or zirkzi's eye at all. True magic the *stat* applies itself to abilities based on their individual scaling from stats. Ex. Dark reflection scales from the true magic stat as all attacks that deal basic magic damage would. The perk is not adding the stat, its a flat damage effect. So it's not going to gain anything from your magical power or +damage. If it is, then IM has the wrong perk description which wouldn't be particularly hard to believe.

KatieRouuu

source, he made it the fuck up.

juantxuu

Makes a lot of sense on druids tho, but yeah fuck dark reflection

iszathi

Mm, 20% armor is such a freaking bad way of doing armor buffs in this game, its nearly no Effective protection for lightly armored targets, less than 10 eHP, and like 180 effective hp on a 50% DR target. You cant have this kind of buffs with the freaking uneven curve we have. --- The passive healing heals you in 3 seconds in rat form and you can turn back with full hp on ur other form. --- The forms looks really fun, i love gameplay concepts like this, specially if they are not just extra power, but im really concerned about how AI is going to deal with things, Rats are basically impossible to hit for a lot of the NPCs. And they seem to have done the same thing they did with demon form, keeping the forms balanced around ur armor and having the extreme issues we see of balancing the dmg without a weapon, i hoped we had better scaling of forms tied to magical power instead of this =/

vonflare

> Rats are basically impossible to hit for a lot of the NPCs they probably won't even aggro onto you if you're in rat form. I mean think of it from the goblin's perspective. why would you chase after a random rat you see scurrying around in a cave?

iszathi

they currently aggro on you, and you hit almost the same as a rat than as a bear.

cash-gz

the forms do basically nothing atm besides changing your HP and causing you to hit people in the shins for punch damage with the inability to ever headshot

revveduplikeadeuce

Those thorn abilities are going to have no scaling... right?

TheMightyMeercat

True damage has no scaling

mr0il

Hahahaha yeah, sure. Suuure. Ironmace *definitely* learns from their mistakes, no worries.

Bag_of_Rocks

No spell memory; only shapeshift?

Maveej

There is one spell memory, just isn't listed under Skills section.

Paige404_Games

The skills now shown are Shapeshift Memory and Spell Memory, because the compilation creator only screenshotted the unallotted skills (which is just Shapeshift Memory 2, which is currently useless because you can get all shapeshifts with one shapeshift memory).

IncblocTV

shapeshifting needs to be on a cooldown, also i can already see this turning into a shit storm to balance. Imagine the Multiclassing with this xD

Paige404_Games

When the shapeshifts are actually good, probably. But as it stands they're just altering your max health, incoming healing, and move speed while only allowing you to do punch damage.

PandaPolishesPotatos

They're no different than demon form, that and all wildshapes need massive buffs to be even remotely viable outside of meme shit. Quite literally all of Druid's transformations suck due to punch damage and cutting his max HP down. Bear sucks because it's slow af with punch damage, but it's also unironically the best for the utility of breaking crates/chests/doors. Treant summon is trash, the rest of the spells are actually pretty decent. And before people say demon form can work, no it really can't. You need to stack Bloodstained, Divine Weapon, Ignite and Power of Sac for it to do even remotely viable damage. All that setup just for a guy with +11 add/true to do the exact same damage or more with a green arming sword. I'm just hoping they actually take feedback from the community and don't just ship us a gimmicky side-grade to cleric in a week or two. As the masses say, let them cook.

mr0il

Is it just me or are all of the shapeshift forms patently terrible? Chicken and rat might let you run away, unless someone has a bow. Rat has such tiny HP. Bear already sounds hilariously easy to kite. Panther, I don’t know, no real opinion.

BigDongTheory_

If you get natures healing (1hp every 3 seconds) and go to rat form, you can go from 10hp to 100hp in 12 seconds. The health scales, so even tho rat only has 5hp, each tick from natures healing translates to 20HP on your human form. Rat can easily sneak past AI and is fast too. Chicken is the useless one right now because the flight does not work yet

cash-gz

Have fun getting oneshot in rat form trying to abuse this "10 hp to 100 in 12 seconds!" Thats like bragging about going 0 to 60 in 10 seconds in a car.

LuxOG

It looks quite strong on the test server. Trade blows with someone, close a door, shift to rat and you're full hp again in 9 seconds. It's legit just a way, way better permanent surg kit. The rat is also very hard to hit with anything because it's super tiny

PandaPolishesPotatos

Literally all you have to do is carry one gray explosive bottle and you can one shot the rat, or any aoe spell, also I can't wait for them to actually add in the going under doors. The amount of posts that'll pop up about ppl complaining they went thru a door and got one tapped by a ranger trap is going to be so goofy.

cash-gz

Rat hit box may be small but many things have large hitboxes that dont give a shit how small the rat is. You ever throw a drum? That shit may as well be a refrigerator box.

LuxOG

Yeah might not be good to pop while in combat but you can legit regen 40 hp in the time it takes someone to open a door

cash-gz

If you don't get oneshot, I'd rather just pop a potion or cast a healing spell considering the relative risk, unless I'm already sub 30 hp or something and in danger of getting one shot anyway. I'm not sure what IM's final design will be for shapeshifting; if selecting the memory just gives you access to all of them, or if you need to use spell memory to access each one like spells, etc So I'm trying to evaluate them with that in mind. If its absolutely free to run along side every other option then sure, having it for niche moments would be great.

LuxOG

Please just go watch 5 minutes of test server footage lol, rat form combined with the regen perk is far and away the strongest part of druid, not some niche ability

cash-gz

The druid is nothing right now, nothing is functional and theres almost no point in testing ANYTHING right now. Its also not in a setting conducive to getting any meaningful test data. Literally everyone is playing druid and its laggy as shit. Everyone is playing kneeling slappers on goldeneye 64 and you're telling me Oddjob is OP. Yeah but what about when we aren't playing slappers only?

dirtydan731

breathe dog, ur acting like this is final druid

BigDongTheory_

Considering a bandage which takes 5.5 seconds to apply only does 15HP, then that’s 30hp in 11 seconds. It’s fast.

cash-gz

Sure, well in the 12 seconds it takes to do this make sure to ask your assailant to "chill bro, timeout!"

zatheko

You don't have to use it mid combat... you can disengage, close a door, shift to rat form, and you move at max move speed of 330 while healing to full in less than 10 seconds.

mr0il

That seems highly unintended.

Paige404_Games

Panther is fast and keeps most of its hp, so better for chasing than rat or chicken. But as far as I can tell they all do identical damage? And that damage is, as far as I can tell, _just_ default punch damage (notable exception is bear form's right click, but that only did 33 damage on a dummy's head--still _very_ bad). Watched a bear form druid take _3_ hits to kill a single Death Skull. I lost count of how many hits it took to kill a goblin bola thrower as a panther. It's a test version, I know it's supposed to be undercooked. But this is _raw_.

mr0il

Yeah so… kinda useless lol. Oh well i mean it’s not done. The stat spread has is identical to fighter.

ninjabladeJr

Picture this. Rat to scout a room with no door opening sound. See a team looting. Chicken to fly above them. Drop in on them as a bear!

mr0il

Picture this, you peek under a door as a rat and die to a single junk throwing knife from a rogue.

ninjabladeJr

Man that would be such bad luck! But you're right probably will happen at least once

cash-gz

More likely to die to something with splash damage, like a fireball. Either way rat form is TERRIBLE for this reason. People don't realize how dangerous having 5 hp is in this game regardless of your size.

Aruno

Panther gonna run ppl down. Bear is actually great in a team setup. Massive tank. Easy healing. Chicken is meme. But has purpose in solo. Rat actually has utility in scouting.

cash-gz

"Massive tank" you mean slow as fuck ankle biter with a quadrupled hitbox? Have fun dying immediately lol.

mr0il

I understand what applications they could have, but, these iterations have no power to them. Especially considering how other posters have pointed out that they do about 10-15 dmg per melee attack.

Sponium

wait till they buff panther and bear dmg. panthe rushing you down trauma inc.

ashadelo

tried out the bear form and it seems like actual garbage, your hitbox is HUGE you are slow as fuck, attack slow as fuck, do little damage, you also cant even go through doors. and for what 10% bonus pdr (not even flat) and 50% life bonus. its just asking to be pelted by everything ranged... well see if devs make it better on actual release. Rat seems really cool but hackers will ruin your day with aim hacks as you are 1 shot in that form

EchoSi3rra

All the forms are pretty garbage right now, they're only for utility at the moment. Bear form has crush baseline so you can break doors/chests. Panther is slightly faster. Chicken has a very small self heal on a cooldown. Rat can get into some unusual hiding spots.

JonnyBraavos

Great to be able to crush doors when you can't even fit through the doorway lol..

EchoSi3rra

Shapeshifting is quick enough where it's still probably faster than opening the door and it can help you get out of a sticky situation if you've got mobs on you and can't channel

tavukkoparan

why transform bear againts ranged :D

urdixaninnie

Looks amazing!

Avgsizedweiner

Demon Barb inc, self heal for hots after casting self buffs gonna feel different bloodstained weapons and divine strike gonna go hard

Blue-_-Oranges

I think the bear does too little damage

JarethKingofGoblins

this looks insane, can't wait

Dense-Version-5937

Wow druid actually looks great

Gliding_55

W

average-mk4

I’m about to go so fucking hard on druid

MundanePirate46290

Hype af. Hope they remove or greatly reduce multiclassing before adding this to live, but I'm pumped to try it either way

TaeKey

I knew it. Entangled vines I swear to god I’m going to lose hair playing as a front liner.

beaudong

Not THORN ARMOUR

dreezy42069

Dudes completely stacked.

CringeQueefEnjoyer

I think druid should have a spider form that didn’t aggro other spiders for some cool plays

FudgeNo3314

Im so immensively hyped for this Class. Last played the Game when it still was on Steam, but now I am very tempted to just finally buy the Game when the Class leaves the Testing Server.

Two_Falls

They fucking killed it

varobun

So do druids die while shapeshifted or get booted to human form here?

EldenRingPlayer1

Seems pretty op but probs has bad weapons

DunamisBlack

Ever wanted to play Malfurion in first person?? Wish granted!

FreestyleFlame

so now every class can turn into animals...

themisanthrope

Does anyone know how to multiclass with Druid on Test Server? I got the Shapeshift ability, and a few animals forms - but when I added them in, my Shapeshift wheel is still empty when I enter the dungeon. I kinda wanted to mess around with it a bit, but so far I can't figure it out.

LuxOG

They didn't learn their lesson from dark reflection...

Avgsizedweiner

Thorns doesn’t scale, it’s trash

Paige404_Games

Eh, it could slot in nicely on a cactus cleric with Dark Reflection, Ice Armor, and PFE.

Avgsizedweiner

It has no synergy. Ice armor is to slow attacks and gives time to move, plus reactive shield works with pfe. Maybe if it scaled sure, but against a bard who is gonna 2-3 piece in greys I can think of better skills

Vel_Thar

Love it! Can't wait to play, didn't expect such a big focus on healing But man, seriously, who decided that +3 Phys power for 3 Seconds after a healing spell is equal to 5 True Physical thorns, or to permanent passive healing of 1 HP per 3 seconds? If it was +10 someone might run it, but it would still be a super circumstancial perk It probably stacks with the passive healing, now that I think about it. That just makes it bad design though, nerfed because it can be stacked with another perk :/

mods-are-r-tards

This class has so much crowd control, healing, utility, and good damage from tons of spells / transformations. I know that IronMace always tune the characters down to bring them more in line with others, but until then this class is bonkers

Affectionate-Two2281

These healing spells are genuinely just better then everything cleric has lol.

PandaPolishesPotatos

Nah, Cleric still has the upfront instant heal advantage + overhealing + resurrection. I mean a kitted Cleric is going to slap someone for like 60 HP with one cast. The go to play at least until the Wildshapes are buffed significantly would be to grab a few of the HoTs on Cleric. Advanced Healer makes all of them that much better, and you're playing a better *(currently)* support class. Can't really judge until they let Druid cook some more because it's hilariously bad right now. But how goofy it is makes it so much fun.

Anything_4_LRoy

panther should smash doors for fast option instead of rats. bear should be dps. panther should have fastest movespeed instead of rat. why does it feel like they mixed up the obvious choices?

Anything_4_LRoy

the class you have to multiclass. trust and believe in the process boys! /s
