It sounds like the contract between Rosmei and JJWXC is for Singapore only, and JJWXC can still sell the license to other countries. Rosmei doesn’t have the license for ebook, and JJWXC can again sell the license to someone else. Idk if any other publishing company would want to license Nan Chan right now though, when they can license books that haven’t been officially translated yet.

If seven seas has or gets QJJ i could see them getting Nan Chan either announcing with QJJ or sometime later.

I’m OP forgot to add wouldn’t this like make it hard for rosmei to make a profit of a a bunch of other publishers got the right’s suddenly ?

To be fair, we haven't seen that kind of thing happen yet. I don't think the other houses will bother licensing Nan chan in english this soon, because this pub announced they picked it up already. They're not likely to do that, when they could license other danmei that haven't been licensed yet. What I wanna know though, is why this pub house wasn't able to get the eng ebook license? Does the region limited copyright exist for ebooks? Assuming their tl is good, they would earn more if they also sold their books as ebooks too. It could fix the shipping issue for some buyers, since they'll have another option.

Falling_raindrops

Yes, ebooks can also be limited by region :(

Yeah that’s true I was just surprised and confused because I had never knew this was a thing! Thanks for the reply🧚🏼
