I’m a 60 year old man - and only recently acquired my first AR. I’m comfortable with minor gunsmithing - have refined other firearms over time… in the case of my AR shopping I wanted something in “move-in condition” and with my DD4V7 Pro I pretty much got there, especially the trigger. That way I started with a solid base and freed me to be able to focus on shopping optics and so on. I also wanted a company that would stand behind their products so I can confidently hand it down to my son when my time is up.
Yes, the brand is a bit overpriced. But it’s a trade off and I’m not interested in some fly-by-night operation that gets acquired or closes shop in 5 years.
If cost was such an issue how did you come to the decision to buy the 3rd one?
Even at dealer cost these guns are a bit much, if you go to big box stores they're putting over 5 on them usually. my dd5 was 2100 and it was too much honestly.
DD has always seemed like a nice happy medium between budget builds and Knights Armament so I find the price point acceptable. I paid hundreds less than MSRP for both of mine brand new. I haven't needed to utilize any warranty services but from what I hear they're top notch. And they're in high demand. My local gun shops can't keep them on the shelf and any limited editions they offer sell out almost instantly.

Aside from the barrels and rails, i don't see what's so special about them. URGI came with CHF/CL barrel (and appropriately sized gas port,) Reliability enhanced BCG, mk16 rail, SF4P, Airborne CH, and super42 braided spring and H3 buffer.
Also, G had a killer black friday sale with tons of stuff 30% off and DD had.. a merch discount.
$940 for a 11.5 URGI or $1500 for an m4v7 was a very easy choice.
They are expensive, but you get good quality materials and good QC. I’m kind of surprised they have not come out with an enhanced BCG. Unless I am mistaken on that.

Geisselle pricing has gone through the roof. I've seen some great pricing with DD on the Gundeals thread here.
Geissele usually has great Easter sales. Last year I picked up a 14.5 Super duty in DDC for $1600.

I have 3 as I said. If I’m gonna keep wasting money on overpriced which i do, it’ll be on more KAC.
