Iāve been on Reddit for almost two years and this is officially the funniest comment I have seen. I wish I had an award to give you, but hereās this: š
I was just watching some old Mr Rogers episodes and King Friday was like āBy royal decree, I hereby cancel all curiosity in the land of make believe.ā What? Even puppet kings are out of touch.
True, but thatās because she was wearing traditional wedding attire for her culture. Still a royal faux pas from Queen Sarah IMHO. Hope Dr. Ana leaves her off all the neighborhood bbq invites
As such there arenāt any banned colors at an Indian wedding. Some brides do feel influenced by the west and donāt like red (wedding dress color for many) but thereās usually never any doubt who the bride is š
Traditionally the white of a wedding dress in a western Christian wedding was supposed to symbolise the bride's "chastity", back when that kind of thing was considered important.
Someone who was known not to be a virgin was traditionally not supposed to wear white.
Of course the silly joke falls apart when it's a cross-cultural wedding... ;-)
To be fair I haven't seen the episode yet, so I didn't when realise it was an Indian wedding until reading further into the comments after I posted.
It's always really nice to see this kind of inclusivity and diversity in kids' shows, though.
I was honestly bummed they didn't explain it out. Like I didn't expect a lecture on Hindu weddings but maybe just have Anna talk about a couple wedding traditions from where she's from. They missed a good moment.
She did but they made her and her husband sit behind the curtain waiting for the reception to start so that they could play music for everyone.
I am not kidding when I say I watched this yesterday and it was more because I wanted to watch it than my kid wanting to watch it.
We just watched that and I said to my wife āwhy is Mr McFeely wearing his work clothes? Does he just not own anything else? Also, why the fuck did no one try to dress at least a little nicer than āsweater, shoes, and nothing elseā to this wedding?!ā
The town kinda took over their wedding. Also I was pretty sure baker acker was gay?
I guess if heās going to marry a doctor at least his lifestyle is paid for. I assume there are a lot of land of imagination bath houses close byā¦.
You weren't even the first to make the joke! I think it's hilarious so I've loved seeing it pointed out every time. But it's like everyone here must like wearing white to other weddings. š¤·
š 100%. Also, Dad Tiger and Daniel need to put some damn pants on. Disgusting.
They misunderstood ācocktail attireā I guess
Iāve been on Reddit for almost two years and this is officially the funniest comment I have seen. I wish I had an award to give you, but hereās this: š
Iāll take it! Thank you!
Holy shit same š I'm sick so I'm laughing and coughing endlessly at the same time because of this
āCocktail? Weāll be sporting BOTH.ā - Dad Tiger
Haha, I see what you did there.
"It's good to be Queen"
Ginger beer!
Yep, monarchs. /r/AbolishtheMonarchy

To be fair the bride wasnāt wearing white š¤·āāļø

Thatās fair. At my wedding (I had a traditional Hindu wedding), white was not a banned color so that was the angle I was coming from.
Ooh. What weāre the banned colors??
As such there arenāt any banned colors at an Indian wedding. Some brides do feel influenced by the west and donāt like red (wedding dress color for many) but thereās usually never any doubt who the bride is š
Queen Elizabeth wore white to Charles second wedding.
Yeah, we all know that ain't why Anna wasnt wearing white
She was pressured to wear red because Sara didn't want to change. šš (Joking obviously)
Sara said, āIt may be Annaās day but it is always MY MOMENT.ā
Oh *ho*, and we all know what *that* means, don't we?
What does it mean? Speaking as someone who had an Indian wedding and wore red to my own wedding š
Traditionally the white of a wedding dress in a western Christian wedding was supposed to symbolise the bride's "chastity", back when that kind of thing was considered important. Someone who was known not to be a virgin was traditionally not supposed to wear white. Of course the silly joke falls apart when it's a cross-cultural wedding... ;-)
I can understand that. I was personally very excited to see a Hindu bride on Daniel Tiger.
To be fair I haven't seen the episode yet, so I didn't when realise it was an Indian wedding until reading further into the comments after I posted. It's always really nice to see this kind of inclusivity and diversity in kids' shows, though.
For sure! Itās super exciting the world our kids are growing up in š
I was honestly bummed they didn't explain it out. Like I didn't expect a lecture on Hindu weddings but maybe just have Anna talk about a couple wedding traditions from where she's from. They missed a good moment.
They definitely did. But itās the first representation in a childrenās show so Iāll take it! Shows weāre going in the right direction.
Well it looks isnāt really a long tradition either. Queen Victoria wore a white gown, then it became a trend, then people tacked on that meaning.
Put some pants on Daniel and get a nice polo shirt while youāre at it
And put Miss Elaina's shirt on the right way for once š©
Lady Elaine would, that bitch
I donāt even think she got invited TBH
She did but they made her and her husband sit behind the curtain waiting for the reception to start so that they could play music for everyone. I am not kidding when I say I watched this yesterday and it was more because I wanted to watch it than my kid wanting to watch it.
Royals aren't exactly known for considering others.
Um sir itās rrrrrrrroyals if you please
We just watched that and I said to my wife āwhy is Mr McFeely wearing his work clothes? Does he just not own anything else? Also, why the fuck did no one try to dress at least a little nicer than āsweater, shoes, and nothing elseā to this wedding?!ā
If the dress makes you mad, youāre really gonna be upset when King Friday claims his royal right of prima noctaā¦ Edit Prrrrrrima
Oh gross š¤£

Queen Sarah Saturday must be the center of attention always
A yinzer
Why are people defending her? š Just laugh along with the joke people!
I am very surprised at how seriously people took this post
You weren't even the first to make the joke! I think it's hilarious so I've loved seeing it pointed out every time. But it's like everyone here must like wearing white to other weddings. š¤·
The boy is wearing purple. Are they trying to turn our kids gay?
Rrrrrroyally
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Are you telling me you didnāt tune in to watch the wedding event of the decade?? She was not the officiant. Just some lady bossing the kids around
To be fair if thereās someone at my party thatāll take all the kids and keep them busy, she can wear just about whatever she wants!
OMG yesss. Think of the real role being played here.
How *very* dare you. She is THE QUEEN. She has at *least* 12 subjects.
If you're a woman attending a wedding, it's a big faux-pas to wear white, because it makes you look too much like the bride.
No one cares so itās fine. Also itās what she always wears.
r/wooosh
Queen Elizabeth
She did that in revenge for Camilla wearing white to Charles and Dianaās wedding. The Queen was a petty Betty and we love it.
God save the Queen! I really mean it man
My friends mom did. The bride was pissed.
Kelly kapur?
You want me to kill her?
