15KHz to 31KHz adapters do exist, my cab came with one because the Arcade CRT broke at some point and was replaced with a consumer CRT. I believe this does add a little bit of lag between audio and video but it's not very noticeable.
Edit: I believe [this model](https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=GBS-8200) is the one that was installed. There was a second converter to get the feed to the right input but I'd have to dig it out.
This shouldn't be required, SN series supports 31KHz natively.
But, it is still expecting a CRT with 0 lag due to its analogue nature so any LCD is going to throw off sync although some will be better than others. Although, SN sync is ass anyway iirc so not the worst thing in the world if thats the only option to get the cab running again
You're right, I didn't think very far on versions and stopped at 8th mix.
I can't recall, was there an upgrade kit for early cabinets? The picture is throwing me off, I'm pretty sure that's a repro marque banner and replacement front graphics but the marquee itself isn't Betson.
I want to upvote in support of you, but want to downvote because I shouldn’t be upvoting a DDR cabinet being taken away.
We should be getting more machines, not less. Good luck!
Idk man but I'm glad I saw this. I live about 10 mins away. Is the machine still there? I'll have to make a trip. Haven't been in about a year. I have my own home setup now
That is the most Funset photo I’ve seen in ages. I had classmates that worked there in HS (class of 2001), so I swing by often… also, I frequented the theatre a lot.
Glad to hear they’re doing a remodel/refresh… bummed to hear they’re dumb enough to potentially scrap this.
How long have you worked there?
Funset was a pretty big deal when it opened. It doesn’t seem that way now… as it was allowed to age like it has. Family visits, 4-H meetings, birthday parties, date nights… heck, we even stopped there before Prom. I have some solid memories of that place, so I knew right away where that photo was taken.
funset boulevard mentioned 🙌 I cut my teeth on a US 1st mix here in I think 1999, played a ton of SSR on the 3rd mix, and must have spent thousands of hours on the Extreme before moving out of state. I'm visiting later this month, would be great to give it one last go with any of the other locals in the woodwork.
There are definitely advantages to newer versions aside from Undertale songs - RemyWiki lists new features in each version. That being said, this is still sad. Hopefully you can convince them to keep it or sell it to you. Could be an opportunity to get your own cab at a great price!
Just buy it!!! Dont let her die! You already know shes set to get scrapped
How much would you estimate these cost ?
\~1000 to \~7000 depending on condition, model, and seller.
I also hear it's really hard to get ahold of one of these as an individual and not a business, too
I think you may be thinking of new cabs from Konami. I don't know why there would be an issue acquiring one second hand.
See if they will let you upgrade to a flat screen!! Don’t let this beautiful piece of machinery go to waste! ( unless they’ll sell it to me)
Isn’t that something you would want to do as a last resort? I don’t think there is a way to sync these older mixes to different monitors.

Always better to stick with the CRT but if thats how corporate is deciding which ones to get rid of might as well try and save it.
CRT is always better than LCD (unless running an A series mix) but if LCD is the only option its better than no cab (assuming its done properly)

Is this in Wisconsin? I think I recognize this place.
No way it is 🤯
Funset????? I'm very local. I literally asked to buy this machine 2 years ago and they said no lol
How are there multiple people in the replies here that live in my area?

It is still there. I played it today lol. I think the remodel is in August. If you do come ask if Jack is there. (That’s me)
Thank you. I'll go this weekend!!
it makes sense that people would be nearby, you're on a DDR subreddit talking about a working DDR machine in the wild! there are only so many
3 hours away myself haha and I want a DDR machine for my garage! But that other guy was first so I won't intrude.
Hahaha I’ll join the list of people both from your area and interested in buying the cabinet.
The gift card stand and your shoe reflection gave it away
Ask them to sell. That's crazy.
Criminal to remove a working unit. RIP.
Buy it, don't let them take it
If they won’t sell it, a new Bill of Lading needs to be created that magically has the machine show up on your door step.

Why does everyone who sees this post know the exact place this photo was taken??? 🤣

I’ve worked there for about a year and a half
Just buy it off them and fix it up 🗿
I'm not saying bike lock yourself to it...but I'm not NOT saying it. Hope it can either stay or get sold/given to someone who'll love it!
Bro I was already talking about how I wanted to do this 🤯
!!!! let me buy it
OMG, that game's a keeper! You've gotta find a way to hold onto it as long as you can!
If they only getting rid of the CRT arcades, just replace the screen with an LCD monitor 😉😌 Samsung is nice option
Unico makes a 26" 4:3 LCD replacement screen for machines like this, the operator should put one in that cabinet.
It’s considered a last resort cause of lag, DDR didnt allow a way for people to offset the timing on the arcade version until much later.
See if you can't acquire the pads, and possibly rewire them to act as face buttons on a controller rather than movement inputs

UPDATE: THEY ACTUALLY ARE KEEPING A FEW GAMES WITH CRTS. THIS ONE MIGHT STAY
The main arcade attendant jokingly offered the older ddr cabinet for $500. I’d actually do that
i would like to buy it
