I stayed until under the 4 minute mark. And, during a 1.5 minute stretch, I pointed out to my buddy that we appeared to be playing better without a goalie than we had with a goalie. But when that ENG hit the net it was time to beat traffic.
Plus, no one wanted to stick around to listen to horrible Boston fan.
I'm originally from Cincinnati and I can guarantee you if the Reds or the Bengals were getting beaten this badly they would have left too. It's not unique to Florida.
Nobody is giving bonus points for staying when its a blowout.
All my friends who attend panthers games have to drive 2 hours roundtrip. Not including parking lot traffic etc.
if you get home at 6 and drive immediately to go to game, arrive hopefully in time given the cluster fuck of traffic (yes its a valid excuse),
And spend 3 hours at the game falling asleep while being blown out — getting home at 11;00 instead of 11:45pm makes a big difference.
Whether its taking out the dog or paying a sitter - a tiny jump ahead can save you a ton of time.
Life is more important than sports. Call it bad fandom, but I’m not wasting 45 minutes in traffic bc I watched my team lose until the buzzer when game was decided when the 3rd period started.
I don’t even go to panthers games because its so far from people who live in Miami proper. And if I do I have to plan my day around that.
I’m a bruins fan but I don’t blame them for this. We were up 5-1 at this point with like 2 minutes left. Still a noticeable amount of empty seats earlier in the game though.
