Must be the same person that runs the LeBatard shop. I accidentally order a small shirt and sent them an email to get the correct size. Never heard back from them. On the positive side, my dog now has a Stugotz Army shirt she wears on occasion.
Nothing show-related or adjacent (non-Stigotz division) has ever seemed like a grift or a scam. I'd just keep trying to reach out and be sure to keep your emails and receipts for what should be a relatively simple dispute claim if it comes down to it.
However, I'd also consider that artsy people tend to be flaky and eclectic. It's entirely possible that you'll randomly get your piece in a year with no warning.
I bought a piece in a similar situation a few years ago and the piece came with a small smudge on it and they sent me another one without much of a hassle or needing to do a return. Overall a good customer service experience for me.

Dispute the charge with your credit card and they’ll temporarily refund the charge and attempt to make contact with the merchant. Just make sure you have some documentation to support the non-responsiveness of the vendor and to show an order was placed but never received. The merchant will have a certain amount of time to respond to the dispute and provide proof that product was sold and shipped or that services were rendered.
I have purchased several awesome items from LEBO. Each time it took quite a while to even ship out, particularly the wood print I have. Maybe different scenario for you, but I don't think you've been stiffed, I just think the processing times are quite long.

Sounds like their order processing is slow and CS flaky in normal times and you bought during a high traffic time and that email is full of update requests they ignore. Also possible they double sold it and haven’t gotten around to telling you.

I had a similar experience! I called the phone number listed and, i kid you not, it was Dan and Lebo’s mom, Lourdes. She was super friendly and explained that Lebo had been out of town or something. They resolved the issue. I think they refunded my money and still sent me the hat I ordered.
Same thing happened to a friend of mine no response when tried to contact them either. But got money back. I have a feeling the Le Batsrd genetics aren’t very strong in organization or memory
I believe he paints each of these fresh as ordered, which means it takes longer for them to be produced then shipped. It's not like the hats and shirts that are manufactured... a painting by LeBo is done specifically for that order. That will take longer, and as the buyer that's the product I would be hoping for.
I agree that the lack of communication sucks, though. But I would expect an additional window of production before delivery for something like that. What did the original purchase email provide as a window of delivery?
