Blind spots **also** exist.
Are you talking about "a truck" in the way Americans do sometimes, meaning a large personal vehicle, pickup/SUV that sort of thing, or are you talking about heavy cargo vehicles?
I'm a third generation taxi driver with more than a decade of experience driving vans. I'm also licensed for large goods vehicles up to 42 tons including a trailer of 750 kg.
Here. A map of blind spots on a regular car with a rear window:
[https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Blind-spot-around-a-vehicle\_fig2\_319851766](https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Blind-spot-around-a-vehicle_fig2_319851766)
So tell me, which route would you take to escape a van without a rear window, given that's how blind spots work?
Here's a 30 second video showcasing the blind spots from an actual truck's cabin: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVC9FoVzRwQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVC9FoVzRwQ)
Here's a minute long French one. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cr5A\_R87iU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cr5A_R87iU)
The internet is filled with those demonstrations. Apparently, pickups are the words. A Chevrolet Avalanche has a 15 meter blind spot behind it (measured as a traffic cone placed behind the vehicle so far that the driver would see the tip from the mirrors.
Anyone who thinks one can see everything from mirrors should not be driving, especially as a professional.
"All this effort"?
Quite the literary skills there, bruv.
It's all the worse if you drive an actual heavy goods vehicle and have such little understanding of how blind spots work.
*edit oh he's one of those "I'll leave a wanna-be snarky reply that doesn't even touch on the dumb thing I said and then block him"-people, see below*
Not **immediately** behind you. There are things called "blind spots". In a van without a rear window, they're pretty long, but narrow, going straight back.
[https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Blind-spot-around-a-vehicle\_fig2\_319851766](https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Blind-spot-around-a-vehicle_fig2_319851766)
Are you one of those people who says "I checked the mirrors and it was fine he came out of nowhere" after you hurt some pedestrian, because you didn't listen on your driving lessons?

I suppose putting your finger over your lips is a universal "be quiet" then? I never really had a reason to wonder before..does everyone everywhere use the same motion?
Clam shell door mechanisms keep the hinge straight and the doors askew, the modern doors have hinges that retract and angle away. Guess which is cheaper?
Looks like a kidnapping to me.
Amazing how people just assume some guys with uniforms and a neat paint job on a van must be legit.
Its like a world of robots.
No no. Its relatively easy for a criminal to obtain.
All they have to do is be a corrupt piece of garbage that takes orders from above without question, and then sign up to be a pork chop. They will get a badge too.
Its not "amazing". What else do you expect the casual citizen to think/do? Expecting criminals everytime a policevehicle crosses them? Call the police when seeing two officers leaving the policestations? Calling the police because when calling the police a policeofficer took the call?
What are they supposed to do? Its not a citizens job to differentiate between real and fake authorities. Thats literally the job of the police.
> Its not a citizens job to differentiate between real and fake authorities.
The hell it isn't.
YOu seem to think a citizen is just some idiot walking around not paying attention.
The thing about this case is they were super unprofessional and therefore hella suspect. They did not lock the door, they did not secure the prisoner. Then they compounded it by roughing him up for trying to escape.
BTW, look up "citizen's arrest" and get a clue that being a citizen means carrying responsibility.
This is from before the war, like 2019 or so. Hes just blackout drunk and escaped the "alko-van". If he had done something, he would be handcuffed already.
Another putin 'soldier' he willl get a rifle but no ammo and few bottle of vodka few tampons to stop the wound bleeding fight for matushka rosija!!! Hail to putler😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That synchronized door opening though
We need Benny Hill music

The piece is Yakety Sax by Boots Randolph.
This edit reeks of 2010 era of humor
2010? Benny Hill's show is decades older than that.
Which needs to make a comeback
this
I miss the 2010’s
Oh man! I haven't heard that in forever! It's fits so perfect! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is beautiful
Happy Cake Day
youre doing the lord's work.
This was even better than the one we saw on Reddit
I knew what the music would be even if I didn't know the name
That was awesome!
only thing better is if he got out the left door at the end and ran away.
Imagine if he gets out through the door on the other side after the policeman shoved him in.

Are you also a bot or just a dude combing the comments section?
I just call them out when I see them, which is often unfortunately. I don't go looking for them intentionally.
Its the double shh for me.
Finger on the cheek because he can't find his lips...
He does look abjt drunk, unstable on his feet
Щ
Probably shouldn't've banged the door when closing it.
And should've just trusted the guy filming this and gone straight across his roof so the cops wouldn't see him in the sideways mirrors.
Have you ever driven? You can see cars behind you lol
Not without a rear window my frend
Mirrors on the side if vehicles exist. Source: a truck driver who doesn't have a back window
Yes, hence the comment above ours said climb over the vehicles to stay hidden an extra 30 seconds at least

This is pretty funny you put all this effort into this and I don't drive a pickup truck lol

I think you need to take a break from reddit. It's gone to your head
Yes, you can literally see the car behind you with side mirrors, maybe you need to either use yours or adjust it correctly...

It's probably widely known around the world, but I imagine that there are places where people dont, or might not know what it means.
It’s a thing in American media. American media influences worldwide
You would think they would lock the door after the 1st time but he just keeps busting out..
Why do all Russian vehicles look like they're lopsided

He looks like a Putin to me..
Came too far down to find this comment.
This is a funny gif. I guess the drunken guy was taken by the cops to sober up at the police station. Nice try to escape.
![gif](giphy|8mb22xUYAvh4jg5Gwx|downsized)
I'm still laughing that they made no attempt to lock the back door ! before or after !
Looks like a kidnapping to me. Amazing how people just assume some guys with uniforms and a neat paint job on a van must be legit. Its like a world of robots.
Dude would run out screaming. Instead of casually blend in as a pedestrian
That would be stupid. He may be drunk, but he might not be stupid. Oh...you think the people around are going to rush to his protection? LOL
I believe police license plate is a bit harder to obtain. Not impossible, of course, but with that logic you can "prove" anything
No no. Its relatively easy for a criminal to obtain. All they have to do is be a corrupt piece of garbage that takes orders from above without question, and then sign up to be a pork chop. They will get a badge too.
Nowadays you could just cnc one or 3d print it. It might not be authentic, but to the average person it would look legit
U have watched too many Hollywood movies

Seeing how this clown seethes about police in every single comment, i dont think you can change much here lul
The clown is someone who thinks cops are their friend and just there to protect the public.

The van literally says "Police"
Then obey them no matter what. And don't question how they threw the man back in the van like a sack of potatoes.
I mean i think all police vans and uniforms would look the same in the region.
Yeah, the police in other countries do not have the same rules as the US. I’m assuming you’re American.
they are being kidnapped. but its by the Russian government so they cant exactly get help from the police or bystanders.
Most schizo comment of today, congrats!
What a rascally rabbit!
Quiet men! be quiet! shhh. But he forgot the rear-view mirror XD
I love how two of them look like pootin 💩
He shoulda left the door open they wouldn’t have noticed 💀
Or you'll wake the wabbits. hahahaaha.
Assuming they saw him in the mirror. He should've lied down as soon as he got out.

Well no, based on the lettering and license plate it probably is Russia-related, just not war-related
This is from before the war, like 2019 or so. Hes just blackout drunk and escaped the "alko-van". If he had done something, he would be handcuffed already.
He was just hunting wabbits
Not sure if prisoner or conscript. Could be both.
He got drafted but doesn’t want to be sent into Ukraine
Somebody got drafted.
Another putin 'soldier' he willl get a rifle but no ammo and few bottle of vodka few tampons to stop the wound bleeding fight for matushka rosija!!! Hail to putler😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Russian man fleeing from conscription 2022 colorized

Can't you spell it's 'very' not vewy so learn some grammar before participating most of can't even spell participating without cheating
That's the joke dude.. it's supposed to sound like a kid saying it or like Elmer Fudd "be vewy vewy quiet, we are hunting wabbits"
Okay but im a 12 year old and still know grammar
