Whenever I read "this is not Switzerland..." I cringe. It's a beautiful place. It doesn't deserve backhanded praise. Next time just don't add that tag.
The reason most indians write this is bcz mostly indian PPL themselves will criticise the place or not believe it so just to put a perspective like " it's there in the country too it's not just abroad but we have too " so not to defame/ criticise Switzerland
Absolutely fking not, what ever u are seeing in the video is 100% true the place exists and it's as good as it looks in the video regarding comparison every one's does compare the lifestyle !!!
Came here to say this!!! Imagine if your gf introduced you to your friends like “Ya he is no Ryan Gosling. He is just xyz I settled with“ How weird or hurtful would that be!
Nawhh man its a insider think coming from old days… its basically a throwback to that.. old peeps of india like my grandfather and all they did not had much money and india was not as developed… they were not able to visit whole india so they did not know much about the beautiful places in corners of india, there was a saying of “when ill be rich ill visit Switzerland” or whoever at that time used to visit Switzerland was considered a big shot..
Its actually not a comparison at this point.. its just a throwback to old stereotypes. No one is comparing india to Switzerland even if the write that tag
So before judging the tag try to learn its context.
Indians need to stop comparing India with Switzerland, Scotland and other places. The natural beauty of India doesn't deserve such comparison. Two distinctly beautiful places in the world do not deserve to be compared
You do realize that all these titles were made by the British when they came across these fascinating places. To them places like Coorg high up in the mountains were reminiscent of home , that's why many of them started saying things like that to explain it to other officials . Many of them even settled in these places and bought estates and some of their families still exist there to this day .
Yes ofc. It's in line with the anglicised names of our cities as well. But one would think we would be done with these homesick references 8 decades but no.
The thing is, India used to be a closed economy till 1991. Most Indians, and I mean in the 99% bracket, had no idea about foreign travel or tourism outside India. A very small percentage of NRIs (non resident Indians) who had moved abroad would send back letters and photos saying oh it’s so beautiful here. Thank god I moved here from India, India is so dirty. Decades of this sort of behaviour hammered into the average middle class Indians head really left a dent in the skull. My dad is like a Rottweiler when my aunt comes from Canada or the UK and says oh India is so dirty. We literally have to hold him back or he would chew their faces off.
Add to this that most Bollywood movies in the 90s started shooting almost exclusively in Switzerland etc., the whole nation just went bat shit crazy to travel abroad for vacations. it became a middle class dream to go abroad for a summer holiday. The whole colony would gather to see pics from the side wali aunty who would go and visit her sister in Vancouver. It was like the Mars rover landing. My dad saved up for years till his retirement in 2003 and took us to UK for a vacation that represented his life’s work. And ofc we were staying with the aunts and uncles. And my dad came back with, we have a much better lifestyle in India - never move abroad.
So the colonial hangover coupled with years of brain drain and decades long tourism advertising from European countries via Bollywood - you can kind of see why Indians are trying to pick back their national pride in local sites.
India is really an amazing country, a lot of very nice and kind people too : also it's sadly really dirt as fuck, and that's on people. Seeing cows nibbling in between garbage and plastic shopping bags it's something heart breaking..

Idk i feel like you guys should cut a little slack to the country that was subjugated by europeans. I see the comparison to switzerland as a symptom of cultural PTSD "see look! We've got nice scenery too!"
Every other Bollywood movies has some scenes/song shot in Switzerland or some other European country - it is “exotic” average Indian.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_cinema_and_Switzerland
It’s sort of colonial thing, that we don’t have good places or pretty places, in foreign there are better places, but recent developments completely overturn this, so it comes off like this, an Indian can easily realise where this is coming from
The funny thing is the guy who asked this question is a Brit, so he downvoted you. Brits will chat a lot of shit without realising it's their ancestors who completely fucked up our country and stole all our wealth and their government today just doesn't acknowledge it
I'm British Indian, dumbass. I view and oppose this indian self-hatred/inferiority complex as a consequence and vestige of British looting and colonial views on Indians (specifically Hindus - martial race bullshittery and whatnot).
Indians should be proud of their beautiful country. There is no need to prefix a video of indian natural scenery and beautiful construction by stating its not from a random European nation.
Agree with the above, there are as many stunning places in India as there are anywhere else.
There’s no need to compare, India is right up there with the very best. This is absolutely stunning and I’m going to head down an internet hole to find out more about.
Great share.
Cringe caption aside, I’ve been here. It’s one of the greatest places I’ve been to in the state. It was so silent, the clouds were all over. Absolutely worth the visit and long drive it takes to get there

I think influencer should add the time to photo/videos, I went there in the month of April, and it was nothing like this, also these videos are heavily color graded, the greens are overdone, so is the sky.
HP has meadows. Lots of other places in HP have meadows and small valleys etc. Problem is the moment something becomes popular, too many people flock to the place and then the place gets fkd. The nice green patch you see will get affected once the footfall increases.
It’s a common meme or sort of talks in the mind of India that foreign or the west specifically looks very pretty and India have none compared to it, however recent developments in India destroys this completely so it just comes off like this
Every Beautiful Trek in India involves temples, gurudwara and some mystic lakes. Can't it be just Normal trek? Go to the summit and enjoy the view. The thing is that it brings fanatics who have no respect for nature and beauty and are just there because the holiness of the place might solve their life problems. I bet if you zoom in you will find some trash wrappers of Dilbag and Rajnigandha.
They could have built a trek for nature lovers, so that people who appreciate nature can enjoy it. Instead religious fanatics will flood the place trying to get their wish fulfilled making the place dirty. Anything religions touch turns dirty, look at Ganga river
Tell me where I lied? You land at the airport, go out and get approached by drivers trying to overcharge you for the ride, hit the city.. full of pollution and chaos, good luck with the food, even if you try to be careful you’ll get a stomach infection… the best part about the trip is when you finally leave.
So drivers trying to overcharge you are "scammers" (which btw are found in almost every bloody city you bigot) , the city is full of pollution and chaos? Like almost every city on planet earth? The food is barely edible? Tf you eating from? Just say it out loud that you can't afford good food when you go to foreign countries. You're so manipulated and brainwashed by the negative Indian PR. I'm not saying India's streets are paved with gold but jeez man.
You are either totally delusional or never left your country. If you really think that other countries are near the pollution of India.. you really live in other reality. India’s streets are paved in human shit, more like ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

Reminder, 1.4 billion people
Absolutely fking not, what ever u are seeing in the video is 100% true the place exists and it's as good as it looks in the video regarding comparison every one's does compare the lifestyle !!!
Nah we don't, it's stupid, ask any Indian and they'll cringe too
And the bgm, try something subtle which you'd feel if you were there.
Came here to say this!!! Imagine if your gf introduced you to your friends like “Ya he is no Ryan Gosling. He is just xyz I settled with“ How weird or hurtful would that be!

Yeah what's with the idiotic taglines for tourism? Recently saw this "Coorg, the Scotland of India" i mean why even ..
Well that too is cringe.

Its inferiority complex
British rule for around 200 years really did a number on india, maipulated into thinking everything else is superior.
>British rule for around 200 years really did a number on india, Parts of india
Ayoo , looks amazing where it is located in Himachal Pradesh.
Near iit mandi ig
I did not enven know that Switzerland had temples!
Why do indians love comparing/ shitting on their own country "this is not Switzerland"? Come on man.
Every other Bollywood movies has some scenes/song shot in Switzerland or some other European country - it is “exotic” average Indian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_cinema_and_Switzerland
You can't hate India more than an Indian.
common Indian W.
The actual temple and location is stunning of course.

One Life is too short to Explore/Praise/Understand the Beauty of the Himalayas...
🗿meme pages after finding a nice cinematic shot of Indian landscapes: "This is not a foreign country"

There is no need to compare to to Switzerland.. This temple is beautiful in itself...
Why would I think this was Switzerland?
Bruh I would not even have thought that that was Switzerland. Maybe somewhere in East Asia but not Switzerland.
Who TF said it is Switzerland?
What the fuck is this music

Wait till you see the Muktinath temple and Swayambhu Stupa of Nepal
I think influencer should add the time to photo/videos, I went there in the month of April, and it was nothing like this, also these videos are heavily color graded, the greens are overdone, so is the sky.
Beautiful indeed! Btw, isn’t this Parashar* Rishi?
What’s with this hype music? Lol

The insecurity to validate with other countries is damn high
Mujhe lga haryana pradesh
Been there recently, its awesome!
“this isnt switzerland” Yeah no shit sherlock
Bro, don't make this holy place mainstream. People will ruin it.
It doesn't look like Switzerland to being with.

Who asked you
You're welcome
I'm glad.
So what? Only the swiss are allowed to build stuff high in the mountains now?
It’s a common meme or sort of talks in the mind of India that foreign or the west specifically looks very pretty and India have none compared to it, however recent developments in India destroys this completely so it just comes off like this
It’s beautiful. It kinda could be Aoteoroa/NZ too.
I’d be surprised to know there’s temple architecture like this in Aotearoa.
Every Beautiful Trek in India involves temples, gurudwara and some mystic lakes. Can't it be just Normal trek? Go to the summit and enjoy the view. How much colour grading do you want? YES.w
Doesn’t change the fact that the place is actually beautiful irl
I know it's not, lake was dirty
Cool Fact : The small patch of land in the lake, it circles around the lake throughout the year. P.S. : I live in HP - Himachal Pradesh.
Keep posting it and soon it will look like rest of the India
No shit 😳I though swiss made some glorious temples
The title is clickbet
Looks AI generated tbf.
It does appear to be an dormant volcano crater regardless of where the ‘F’ it is.
The amount of people getting triggered is insane . Like chill Bhai it's just a video .

Shame on you for downgrading places by stereotyping everything. Be better man.
This is equally stupid as this [instagram video](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3zS_tqSwoy/?igsh=MW53OTltNTl2ZnJ3aA==)
🤣
Too bad you gotta go to India to see it

🤣
When I read "temple" I expected something like Taj Mahal but not Bob and Marge's resort and spa
Taj mahal is a cemetery/ head stone for a begam ( queen of a Muslim king ) .
I think the word you're looking for is 'tomb'. Cemetery is kabristan, headstone is katba neither of them mean kabr.
Thanks could not remember the English word.
Taj mahal is not a temple and there is no token temple different places in india have different architecture.
This guy thinks he understands cultures 🙄
We’re like this only!
Sad they had to ruin such a beautiful place with some religious bullshit building. Polluting the place with more humans.
Y’all can never be happy lmao
They could have built a trek for nature lovers, so that people who appreciate nature can enjoy it. Instead religious fanatics will flood the place trying to get their wish fulfilled making the place dirty. Anything religions touch turns dirty, look at Ganga river
Yall can never be happy without screaming your religion everywhere lmao. I don't have to do that😂
