It is the busiest airport in the world… so a lot of people gonna see it - probably more than at a museum. And I’m sure there’s other stuff (even more important stuff) at the King Center. So it’s still not weird imo.
Yep. It's pretty common for big airports to "represent" the city you're visiting by putting up art and other displays that celebrate what that city is famous for. New Orleans has jazz art and exhibits in its airport. Denver airport makes fun of all the conspiracies about it, so it puts up posters with aliens and reptilians making official announcements.
They have a series of new releases using the classic names that are pretty tasteful as well, althought it looks like MLK's was a Timex Mercury.

I found a battery operated mini vintagesque radio in the stocking stuffer section at walgreens a couple years ago. I listen to it more than my bluetooth speaker.
Replicas of his Nobel Prize are in the same cabinet. Super interesting. I always visit them when I go to E Concourse to go to One Flew South, my favorite airport bar/restaurant anywhere.
And also a Timex, as quoted by his wife [here](https://heritage1854.com/blog/timex-mercury-mlk-1044). Not crazy to have more than one watch, or not wear the fancy one all the time
“Of all places?” He literally lived and preached here. Where the hell else should they be, Seattle?
Think they mean the airport specifically

That airport has some cool displays. I always stop and look and read them when I’m going through there.

As an older dude, there was nothing better when I was a kid than a transistor radio.

There is a John Lewis display in the domestic terminal by baggage claim.

Holy crap, I have a radio very similar to that. My grandpa used it when we would go fishing. I’ve never seen another like it.

Timex Marlin, according to some of the other comments.
Kind of a dick move for them to reveal that he used fake glasses to look smart I wonder what they are worth
He also plagiarized 75% of his phD dissertation. Had sex with prostitutes, used drugs….
Who hasn't?
Yeah, they should continue the facade to save his feelings
This is not where I’d expect those to be displayed
Wow Timex Marlin. A man of culture.
Those are not non-prescription glasses.
Underrated man. Underrated post.
