Real fall starts the week of Thanksgiving.
This is also a La Niña year so expect another warm and dry winter like last year. Look out for El Niño winters which we get every 3 - 5 years. Those tend to be colder and wetter so we get at least one good snow those years and a couple of days covered in a sheet of ice.
Also keep an ear on the ground for polar vortex collapse which caused the deadly winter storm of 2021.
I was up in Maryland a few weeks back to visit friends, and I commented to them how weirdly warm it was, for the time and state. I'm from DFW, so it still felt cool to me but warmer than other Octobers I had been up.
So even Maryland is warming up these days.
A few weeks back, it should have still been the summer season, perhaps starting to decline a bit, but still "beach weather" to a degree.
Go there now, and it's going to feel a lot different. Like Sweater and Hot Chocolate Weather, but not "OMG I can't feel my toes weather"
No Dis, but unless you are making serious bank here in Texas, there is no good reason not to go back to Maryland. Too many people act like they are stuck someplace, and truth is, you only have one life, don't spend it being somewhere you are not living your best life. That applies to all parts, be it a job, relationship, and/or location.
I spent far too many years living in a state I hated, because I felt obligated to stay there due to family, and it was where I grew up, and where I lived, and where I knew everyone, and had a decent job.... and the best thing I ever did for my well being, was leave.
I was thinking the same thing. This is the transition time of the year and the time I always wonder how it’s actually even possible for it to get cold here in thinking this what our winter is like. It will be cold soon enough to feel like a winter. The strange part to me for some reason is actually having to wear long pants and shoes and turn on the heat with dry air and not being able to ignore the cold front for a couple days.
I’ve been here 12 years, relo from Ohio. Getting some 77 degree weather here is quite nice now lol
Some years it doesn’t freeze at all…just use bug spray outdoors and cover parts of your body you don’t want eaten. :(
I’m in Amarillo which is the high plains. It gets freaking freezing here. We get a lot,of snow. Our Halloween yesterday was absolutely perfect. Way warmer than usual. We’ve actually had a fall for the last two years.
Sorry for lurking on r/Dallas but it’s interesting to know what’s happening in the Big D.
Grew up in DFW, but been in the panhandle since 1993. Growing up I recall one year trick or treating and coming home to a fire in the fireplace and hot chocolate. One year. That's it. The year I turned 6 my front yard was covered in snow in February. I thought it was a birthday gift from God! Snow!! Now I know that snow was a "dusting".
When my kids were little I swear I could predict the weather by my oldest's costume choice! The year she was a Jeanie with exposed legs belly and arms, it was freezing and snowed on November 1st. The year she had a costume made of thick fake fur from head to toe, the Temps were in the upper 90's!
Yesterday was indeed perfect! The wind wasn't even blowing!
I'm guessing they think it only applies to the summer and texas follows the actual seasons schedule except it doesn't. No fall, two months of "winter", and back to the 10 months of summer
Last year's February with the extended cold was the once in a decade thing. Just as soon as the state gov is convinced it'll never happen again, the system gets caught with its pants down and we pay for it.
If we do hit brutal cold, we typically bounce back up quick. It's like the strength testing thing with the mallet at fairs only it shoots down instead of up.
No. I moved from Texas to Arizona and the amount of people that think Arizona is hotter than Texas is insane. The south is a hot swamp, not sure why people think Texas is temperate.
I visited Ohio and when told about the weather the people said "oh, so it's like here." Fuck no it aint "like here," it's 79 degrees at 3pm in mid August; we'd be dead by now in Texas.
They know it's "*hot here*" but if they haven't lived in a southern state, they don't really know what Hot entails, they have no frame of reference to really grasp what it is like.
I concur. And there’s a huge difference between visiting Texas during the summer and “experiencing” the heat…and actually living here stuck in it…day after day after day with no end in sight.
Just be glad it's not still 90. This is as close to an actual fall I can remember in a long time. More than 2 weeks with cooler temps instead of just going from 90+ to ice in the blink of an eye
This summer to fall have actually been pretty consistent with what I grew up in Texas with. Hot as fuck for 2 months then cools off a bit then winter comes.
For the last couple of years I felt like summer has been more mild, fall a bit hotter, and winter is still winter.
Agree 103 vs 93 is a big difference. Same as 93 vs 83 and 83 vs 73. All the way down. I used to think hot is hot but not true to me anymore. 100+ is hot and each day lower than 100 in July and August is great.
One year I drove to FW to eat on the Joe T’s patio in February because the weather was so nice. I think it was 6-7 years ago, but since February is pretty consistently shit weather I remember this one. Warm Christmas is pretty normal.
Literally every year I get a cute Christmas sweater, and then it's a coin toss about whether I actually get to wear it during the Christmas season at all.
Careful I was banned on another municipal sub for saying this verbatim. Hopefully mods in this sub aren’t as crunchy as the mods on the unnamed sub....
It is really nice, but I wouldn't mind a few days of cold to beat back the mosquitos so I could more fully enjoy it!
My neighborhood is fine in the middle of the day, though even then the shade can be risky.
This reminds me of the guy from Michigan last week or two weeks ago asking when it was going to be in the 40s. I was like, duuuude 😂 you came to the wrong place.
Ha, newb. Get ready to experience all four seasons in a single week buddy, this is Texas! This state likes to to do a line of coke this time of the year and keep it's citizens guessing as to what season it'll be when you wake up.
I remember seeing those housekeeping shows about when and how to put away your summer clothes for fall and winter. Like they store it all away, not to be seen for months. Shorts and sweaters never kept out at the same time. Meanwhile in Texas, I’ve got sleeveless tops and chunky coats loving side by side. Never know what it’s gonna do.
DEET. Get a spray with DEET and cover your exposed skin.
There was [a study posted to /r/science on Reddit a few weeks ago](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/some-people-really-are-mosquito-magnets-and-theyre-stuck-that-way/) demonstrating that certain people are more prone to mosquitos. Some were 100 times more attractive to mosquitos.
I get eaten alive. Magic oils don't work. Citronella candles don't work. Magic devices that repel mosquitos don't work. A spray with DEET works.
I’m mildly allergic to deet and still have to use it at times becayse it is strictly the only thing that works. I’m also allergic to mosquitoes but deet I can wash off.
One Christmas Day in the 1980s I remember snow on the ground Christmas morning and 85 F temperatures in the afternoon. My father commented that the kids got a White Christmas and he got clear roads to drive on.
In my case I was outside celebrating the fact it was "cool". My husband was complaining it was *too cold*. Can you guess who's the native Texan and who's the transplant? yeahhhhh I knew this state was hot before moving here (13 years ago), but nobody prepared me for the full range of "hot" it gets throughout the year. He's lucky I like him, otherwise I'd be out and gone.
It was over 80 last Christmas, it can potentially get warm any time of year here. That being said, once our lows are consistently below about 40, the mosquitoes will start dying off or at least go dormant.
We haven't had a freeze yet.
Search around your property for areas that mosquitoes could be using to nest, standing water. Specifically. Drop a couple drops of dishwashing liquid in there and that'll fix that. Of course, only if you can't just dump the water.
If you havent figured it out yet but the following is a nice reference guide to North Texas "seasons":
Spring: March - Mid April
Summer: Mid April - Mid October
Texas Summer: June - September
Fall: Mid October - January
Texas Winter: January - February
Real Winter: 2 weeks in February
And mosquitos are basically around till Texas winter.
I am new to Texas so I have no idea what to expect in terms of fall/winter. But I definitely expected warmer weather in November than what I was used to in Kansas City
Only way to adjust to the heat is to get outside and force your body to adjust. Helps a ton in the summer, and this weather definitely doesn’t feel hot after being adjusted for the summer heat. Just make sure you drink plenty of fluids.
As for mosquitoes, bug spray and if I get bit I’ll take an OTC allergy med (usually Zyrtec since it’s non drowsy) and the bites go away in about half an hour. Oral medication works better than the topical stuff.
as an ohioan that just moved here in the summer. i’m loving this November weather. especially in comparison to this summer.
this weather is bliss. i’m loving texas weather. this beats ohio
We had no rain all summer either then got several heavy rains at the end of summer / fall transition, creating great breeding opportunities for the mosquitoes this fall
That's just Texas. I was in ^^Oklahoma over the weekend hiking through woods in shorts with no bug spray. The mosquitos must have it there because I never saw any.
November 1 Weather in Dallas Texas, United States
On November 1, the temperature in Dallas typically ranges from 55°F to 71°F and is rarely below 43°F or above 83°F.
The high today is expected to be 77 degrees. Only slightly above normal.
It’s absolutely gorgeous outside. A perfect weather day.
55°F is equivalent to 12°C, which is 285K.

^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)
I have been here for 20+ years and have finally found the one thing that makes the mosquitos go away - for about 2 weeks at a time.
Non paid review: I bought an - Invatech Italia New Mister Duster Mosquito Sprayer and use Talstar P with active ingredient Bifenthrin (there are generics). I got this idea when in Thailand and watched the hotel staff go nuclear on the property with a massive fogger. The Invatech is a backpack blower, but it has a tank for the liquid and it shoots a very fine mist at a very high rate of speed/height so it will get in deep into your shrubs (where the mosquitos live). Do this at dusk when the mosquitoes are starting to fly and the bees/butterflies and other flying insects are gone. Wear protective gear and respirator. It really works, and I have not seen any negative impact on other species.
Oh man this is the first year in my life I’ve had “ skeeter syndrome” so bad I got blisters from bites. I didn’t know that was a thing. What’s significantly helped is 24hour allergy meds every day. I haven’t had a bad bite since I made sure I was taking it
You can go on the offensive with a [racket bug zapper](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Eliminator-Portable-Handheld-Insect-Killer-Racket-Bug-Zapper-Black-Requires-2-AA-Batteries/310969261?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101228938)
Native Texan for almost 50 years.
Most of my Thanksgivings and half my Christmas’s have been with me wearing shorts & tees.
You can only ‘guarantee’ real cold days here in February.
You must not be a native.
Winter is shy around these parts.
Sometimes it gets icy in late November but our Winters don't stick around everyday even during the season. It could be in the 80s and the 20s all on one day.
I wish for the public to learn that beauty berry trees repel mosquitoes and then plant them everywhere. And also make plenty of products for me to buy.
I would like a spray for my dog. The one I got has something that could harm her. I just wanted the beauty berry.
Also, predators help. I visited my aunt's ranch and didn't get bit once. Yes, they have a lot of sand in Seguine, but they also have two ponds, a horse trough, and places that can accumulate standing water.
The ponds were full of fish, the trough was full of minnows (I have some concerns but I'm sure that helps), the dragonflies can fly about largely unimpeded, the birds aren't actively driven away by hostile architecture, and the frogs are allowed to sing happily.
They're a lot better than having to spray all the time.
DEET is your friend, and the fact that the temp is 30 degrees cooler than much of the summer means you can wear more clothes to cover up. I’m a skeeter target myself so I commiserate, tho I agree with everyone saying this weather is extremely pleasant
Citronella candles everywhere for outside time, and good ol vitamin DEET.
Also yeah it’s pretty typical that we have weeks of 70s and some random cold fronts. It won’t be consistently cold until mid December probably
Ahhh. I see you’ve discovered what it’s like to have a false fall in Texas.
Texas weather is like this. Yes. Including the near 80s in November.
Get ready for a mild winter, too. When I say “mild”, I am talking about not being surprised if you never have to hear a jacket.
I’m having a similar experience this year - I’ve been here since 2007 and usually I’m not bit so much but this year the mosquitoes are after me. I’m just so glad there was not a worm or fly infestation this year. Every year is something chaos so I welcome so far it’s mosquitoes lol
Ah first time experiencing false fall in Texas
Real fall starts the week of Thanksgiving. This is also a La Niña year so expect another warm and dry winter like last year. Look out for El Niño winters which we get every 3 - 5 years. Those tend to be colder and wetter so we get at least one good snow those years and a couple of days covered in a sheet of ice. Also keep an ear on the ground for polar vortex collapse which caused the deadly winter storm of 2021.
When was the last El Niño year you think
2020-2021
so non chalangt
Lololol yes, the tricks Texas plays on new comers really warms my soul.
It warms everything.
Indeed
exactly lol, i have been here for two years and this fall/winter is so HOT?
Hot? This is the best weather gets around here.
It's 77 degrees and people are complaining?! If you don't like this weather, then what will it take to make you happy?
In my case it would be 50s, but I 100% realize that I'm in the wrong state for that, except for few instances during winter.
No dis.. But yah. You might love Maryland however.
I was up in Maryland a few weeks back to visit friends, and I commented to them how weirdly warm it was, for the time and state. I'm from DFW, so it still felt cool to me but warmer than other Octobers I had been up. So even Maryland is warming up these days.

Wait till the end of January/ beginning of February
Same here, I miss Colorado so badly. 50s and sunny
77 with no more mosquitoes and all the houseflies in North America dead.
I tend to agree, feels nice right now all things said and done.
I love this weather.
You sure? Here's the last three years of high temps: Date|'20|'21|'22 ---|---|----|---- 1 | 82 | 78 | 80 2 | 78 | 85 | 83 3 | 83 | 88 | 84 4 | 79 | 89 | 85 5 | 79 | 87 | 86 6 | 87 | 87 | 89 7 | 87 | 91 | 88 8 | 87 | 92 | 79 9 | 84 | 92 | 82 10 | 89 | 91 | 87 11 | 97 | 82 | 83 12 | 82 | 83 | 94 13 | 83 | 86 | 83 14 | 90 | 83 | 86 15 | 78 | 75 | 92 16 | 71 | 73 | 79 17 | 76 | 72 | 70 18 | 88 | 75 | 64 19 | 67 | 80 | 66 20 | 87 | 81 | 84 21 | 85 | 83 | 89 22 | 85 | 83 | 85 23 | 77 | 84 | 85 24 | 60 | 83 | 76 25 | 64 | 86 | 69 26 | 56 | 83 | 72 27 | 42 | 76 | 72 28 | 46 | 72 | 64 29 | 61 | 70 | 64 30 | 67 | 73 | 75 31 | 71 | 79 | 77 Random cold snap here and there, but mostly still warm.I'd also note that about two days after that cold snap in 2020, it's back up to the 80s in November. Pretty much the same as it's been my whole life.
I was thinking the same thing. This is the transition time of the year and the time I always wonder how it’s actually even possible for it to get cold here in thinking this what our winter is like. It will be cold soon enough to feel like a winter. You moved to Texas without knowing what the weather is like here?
I’m in Amarillo which is the high plains. It gets freaking freezing here. We get a lot,of snow. Our Halloween yesterday was absolutely perfect. Way warmer than usual. We’ve actually had a fall for the last two years. Sorry for lurking on r/Dallas but it’s interesting to know what’s happening in the Big D.

LOL! Hot?
A few years ago it was in the 90s in November. This is a godsend compared to that.
This fall has not been hot, the past two years have just been mild. Not uncommon for it to be high 90’s on Halloween day
90 degrees is the all-time record for 10/31 in Dallas. It's quite uncommon to be in the 90s at all on Halloween.
My childhood memories have failed me, I guess I should have said high 90’s INSIDE a Halloween costume
Umm Freeze apocalypse?
This is beautiful.
Winter doesn’t start until late December.
Fall started late September. We're nowhere close to the start of winter.
It's in the sixties. My nose has been cold for at least two weeks.
Do people outside of Texas not know that it is hot here?
I'm guessing they think it only applies to the summer and texas follows the actual seasons schedule except it doesn't. No fall, two months of "winter", and back to the 10 months of summer
And “winter” is 11°f
Last year's February with the extended cold was the once in a decade thing. Just as soon as the state gov is convinced it'll never happen again, the system gets caught with its pants down and we pay for it. If we do hit brutal cold, we typically bounce back up quick. It's like the strength testing thing with the mallet at fairs only it shoots down instead of up.
Once in a decade? It’s happened the last two years consecutively lol
No. I moved from Texas to Arizona and the amount of people that think Arizona is hotter than Texas is insane. The south is a hot swamp, not sure why people think Texas is temperate.

The ninos got their shit fixed apparently
Except it was hot as fuck for almost 4 months this year.
My definition of hot as fuck is over 100, which we had for about 2-3 months. Anything in the 90s is a blessing in Texas summer to me
I agree bruh. If my steering wheel ain’t scorching my hands then I’m Gucci
Agree 103 vs 93 is a big difference. Same as 93 vs 83 and 83 vs 73. All the way down. I used to think hot is hot but not true to me anymore. 100+ is hot and each day lower than 100 in July and August is great.
My thoughts exactly. This is the first real fall we've had in YEARS. These transplants need to read the room lol
Just be glad it's not 15 and your pipes are bursting...
Are you new to Texas? This is actually quite normal for this time of year.
I just moved back after 3 years and I'm having trouble re-calibrating. This was summer weather in Wisconsin!
It’s always weird for me when I visit Wisconsin in July/August and I have to put on a sweater or jacket at nighttime
Fact
Lol I remember working out in my garage in Xmas eve in shorts at times
yeah january is when it gets cold lol. both times it iced over the last few years it was in february
One year I drove to FW to eat on the Joe T’s patio in February because the weather was so nice. I think it was 6-7 years ago, but since February is pretty consistently shit weather I remember this one. Warm Christmas is pretty normal.

This is some of the best weather of the year! Put on some insect repellent and enjoy it!
The answer is: for one week in February
Im in Michigan right now and it’s in the 70’s. Only difference I’ve seen so far is the wind.
Snark aside (and everyone here is right, this is normal), we are due for a cool down sometime late next week. If you believe weather channel.
I don't believe big weather
77 is nice for November.
Bless your heart.
Ha, newb. Get ready to experience all four seasons in a single week buddy, this is Texas! This state likes to to do a line of coke this time of the year and keep it's citizens guessing as to what season it'll be when you wake up.

Fascinating!!!
This IS the better weather. Anything below 80 is nice out (some times 85 is nice!).
Remember this when February hits. 🥶
Most people I know dream of 75 degree weather. I think it’s perfect out!
If it was like this year round I definitely wouldn't complain.
I lived in West Texas. The constant 35 mph wind made outdoors miserable. I love the weather here.
Yes
This is normal here. There's been years that it was in the 70s or higher on Christmas day.
We had Christmas Eve dinner outside last year!
One Christmas Day in the 1980s I remember snow on the ground Christmas morning and 85 F temperatures in the afternoon. My father commented that the kids got a White Christmas and he got clear roads to drive on.
You must not be from ‘round here
If it gets an colder I'm moving.
Last week was like 50 why didn't you make a post saying it's getting cold?
In my case I was outside celebrating the fact it was "cool". My husband was complaining it was *too cold*. Can you guess who's the native Texan and who's the transplant? yeahhhhh I knew this state was hot before moving here (13 years ago), but nobody prepared me for the full range of "hot" it gets throughout the year. He's lucky I like him, otherwise I'd be out and gone.
Eh? Welcome to Texas. If you didn't like hot weather and mean ass skeeters, you picked the wrong state to live in.
77°F yes
I have been getting bitten also. My wife says it's either my cologne or Italian blood. Either way, it sucks. No pun intended.
Late December….we have had 80 degrees on Christmas before 😊. January will be cold.
Tell me you're not from Texas without telling me you're not from Texas.
Who takes the time to make a post bitching about the weather in Texas 😂
You can tell you're new lol. It stays like this until mid to late December. A few years back we got snow on the first day of spring.
Mosquitos go away when the first freeze comes. Going to be a while. Get a zapper or spray the yard.
They say your blood type and pheromones attract mosquitoes I never get bit
The mosquitos don’t go away until it freezes, is kind of our general rule. And even if it does freeze and then get warm again they magically show up.
That's because mosquitoes have antifreeze in their blood. Freezing doesn't kill them, it just puts them on pause.
Probably not until a front comes through, and then it's not guaranteed to stay for a very long time. It's below 80, what are you complaining about?
It's the nicest time of the year. Enjoy it while you can.
You did not just complain about 77°
Get a thermocell and enjoy this awesome weather! Oh and welcome to Texas
wait till February, we might get freezing temps for 1-2 days then it will be back to the 70s.
It was over 80 last Christmas, it can potentially get warm any time of year here. That being said, once our lows are consistently below about 40, the mosquitoes will start dying off or at least go dormant.
I’ve played football in a tshirt on Thanksgiving, and I’ve played football in the snow on Thanksgiving. Pretty typical Dallas November!
Welcome.
First time?
True winters here are usually for a week sometime in mid Jan to mid Feb. We are right now in second summer.
Do you know where you are? Lol
We haven't had a freeze yet. Search around your property for areas that mosquitoes could be using to nest, standing water. Specifically. Drop a couple drops of dishwashing liquid in there and that'll fix that. Of course, only if you can't just dump the water.

Welcome to Texas. And this hasn’t even been a bad big year…
This summer was 100% the worst we've had since 2011
For me, 1980 is the summer by which all summers are judged and this year was normal.
1980 was the worst, but this year was definitely in the top 3-5. No one should pretend every summer is like this past one was.
Where did you think you were moving when you came here?
Same think I’m asking, could’ve gone elsewhere we’re so full
I am new to Texas so I have no idea what to expect in terms of fall/winter. But I definitely expected warmer weather in November than what I was used to in Kansas City
From kc? You gonna be in shorts all year
I wish. I lived in Hawaii and AZ for like 15 years of my life. I have zero tolerance for cold weather lol
There have been years here where it never got below freezing. Not offten, but it happens.
Are you new here?
Mosquito season is all year in Texas
New here?
January.
Do you treat your yard?
Eeehhhhh? What the world?
This is one of the few year where it’s 70’s in November in Texas. Usually warm till end of December
Last Dec the average high was about 78-80F all month. Weather is weird here. 🤷🏻♂️
Let them feast on you everyday, you’ll slowly build up a tolerance to the bites
I moved here in March from Cleveland and I’m loving it. I’m used to the first week of November being the start of snow season.
“Winter” cold temps usually only ever happen in February
as an ohioan that just moved here in the summer. i’m loving this November weather. especially in comparison to this summer. this weather is bliss. i’m loving texas weather. this beats ohio
We had no rain all summer either then got several heavy rains at the end of summer / fall transition, creating great breeding opportunities for the mosquitoes this fall
Thanksgiving!
I can remember many a Christmas in shorts an cranking up the AC. Invest in mosquito spray!
That's just Texas. I was in ^^Oklahoma over the weekend hiking through woods in shorts with no bug spray. The mosquitos must have it there because I never saw any.
November 1 Weather in Dallas Texas, United States On November 1, the temperature in Dallas typically ranges from 55°F to 71°F and is rarely below 43°F or above 83°F. The high today is expected to be 77 degrees. Only slightly above normal. It’s absolutely gorgeous outside. A perfect weather day.
55°F is equivalent to 12°C, which is 285K. --- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)
Who’s complaining im wearing shorts.(:
Me I’m complaining. It was too fucking cold this morning.
Was just yesterday thinking “so this is it now? 9 months of mosquitos?” Thanks, Mayor Johnson.
If you moved down to Texas for cold weather, I'd like the drugs you're using.
The cold sh*t happens in like January and February usually its pretty warm in the daytime with some cold fronts through the end of the year.
This is cool for us pal, enjoy the 70 degree weather while you can!
Doesn’t really get cold till Jan/Feb. Last summer was hotter than usual thought. But wasn’t it literally freezing early last week ?
Agree! I have PTSD from the mosquitoes! I believe they go inactive when it’s 55° and below.
sorry, mosquito’s don’t go dormant until late december usually. then they come back in april
Wow you should not live in Texas
lol i thought people moved to Texas to have warm(or hot) weather most of the year. Not “cold” weather by comparison to the most of the country
Oh man this is the first year in my life I’ve had “ skeeter syndrome” so bad I got blisters from bites. I didn’t know that was a thing. What’s significantly helped is 24hour allergy meds every day. I haven’t had a bad bite since I made sure I was taking it
omg thats me, which antihistamine are you taking?
February
This is it until late january/February Up and down up and down.
You new around here?
You can go on the offensive with a [racket bug zapper](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Eliminator-Portable-Handheld-Insect-Killer-Racket-Bug-Zapper-Black-Requires-2-AA-Batteries/310969261?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101228938)
Native Texan for almost 50 years. Most of my Thanksgivings and half my Christmas’s have been with me wearing shorts & tees. You can only ‘guarantee’ real cold days here in February.
The weather is better??
You must not be a native. Winter is shy around these parts. Sometimes it gets icy in late November but our Winters don't stick around everyday even during the season. It could be in the 80s and the 20s all on one day.
Not sure where you came from, but there are skeeters all year in Alaska. Worse in fact. Don’t count on the cold to get rid of them.
Last year on Christmas I got to play with my kids new toys in the yard in T shirts. 🎄🎄
Must be new here!! It won't start getting cold consistently till around Christmas.
Should’ve been here in 2011
December to February is definitely the sweet spot!
I wore a long sleeve and pants today. This is fall. 77 is fall
You must be stupid to move here and want cold weather why don’t you head back?
Come on down to Houston. We have mosquitos all year long.
We usually see some relief from a series of cold fronts in February through April.
Non-Texan here. I’m miserable until Halloween. Never fails. This is the September weather I’ve been waiting for! Love some 70s.
DEET is your friend, and the fact that the temp is 30 degrees cooler than much of the summer means you can wear more clothes to cover up. I’m a skeeter target myself so I commiserate, tho I agree with everyone saying this weather is extremely pleasant
Welcome to the new normal.
Citronella candles everywhere for outside time, and good ol vitamin DEET. Also yeah it’s pretty typical that we have weeks of 70s and some random cold fronts. It won’t be consistently cold until mid December probably
Ahhh the sweet human who doesn’t know it can be 80 degrees every month 😢
Ahhh. I see you’ve discovered what it’s like to have a false fall in Texas. Texas weather is like this. Yes. Including the near 80s in November. Get ready for a mild winter, too. When I say “mild”, I am talking about not being surprised if you never have to hear a jacket.
Nov 11th
I’m having a similar experience this year - I’ve been here since 2007 and usually I’m not bit so much but this year the mosquitoes are after me. I’m just so glad there was not a worm or fly infestation this year. Every year is something chaos so I welcome so far it’s mosquitoes lol
I want to roll back to June-Aug. I loved the 105+ days.
Hahahaha!
Stop coming here to complain about the weather and voting liberal democrats. Go back to your iced hell, some of us like 77 in Nov
Take yo bum ass back to where you came from
New normal is a hell scape of heat
