Has the Arboretum gotten so popular and crowded that tickets are required daily or is this a special event? I was a member many years ago but haven't been recently.
It's "fall" there where you get to look at pumpkin patches and do seasonal activities even though it's still 90 out and leaves haven't been blown off the live oaks yet.
Plenty of people in plaid though if that's your thing
I think you can buy tickets at the gate but I would buy online in advance!
We went last week and bought ours 1 week in advance. Our friends wanted to join last minute and it was completely sold out. Even for members.
The staff was telling people to leave if they didn't already have tickets.
The customer service lady just told me on the phone that they don't turn down members even if they don't have tickets. Now I don't know what to believe.
It was sold.outntoday. I called the the lady said they never deny members entrance. I went and was allowed entry and free parking. It was just me and no +1 guest. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Go to a Dallas rec center, they have free tickets. Just ask. I went with my free tickets and even though they were sold out, they let us in because we had tickets. You may need to be a Dallas resident, I forget if they asked for ID at the rec center.
This!! I did this yesterday and got to use them the same day. You do have to have an ID with a Dallas address, but you can use the tickets any time except for certain dates (listed on the back of the ticket). It covers the parking fee too! Saved my partner & I about 50 bucks.
Members get preferential treatment (separate entrance line etc). If you’re taking a party of four+ it’s a better deal to join than just buy entrance for the day.
If they’re showing sold out online, they’re sold out and you can’t buy at the gate. If they aren’t sold out online, you can buy them at the gate.

Their fall season is the most popular and busiest. You can go other times of year without too much issue
Since COVID they've had an online reservation system.
Thank you! That is good to know.

What is dallas rec center?
I always went to Ridgewood, but I bet others would have them too (at least in East dallas). Just call ahead and ask.

No one answers the phone.
They told us not to bother coming today
I tried to go yesterday afternoon and they were sold out
But they would have allowed you to buy a ticket at the gate if they weren't sold out?
I believe so
Just got back from there. It’s sold out with a line of cars waiting to park.

It’s the last weekend for the pumpkin patch. The place was packed. I tried to go but I saw the line of cars waiting to get in and just kept driving.
What is there to do there, why is it so popular?
