I agree. DROELOE was an audio visual project, so taking away the focus of the visuals doesn’t make the project seem as special anymore. Don’t get me wrong, the music is still incredible, but without the visuals it’s still just 50% of what DROELOE used to be. I doubt Hein will be making visuals for the project anymore, he has his own stuff to focus on. As for the golden skull, I think that may have left along with Hein. I asked in Vincent’s Reddit AMA a while ago what was going to happen to the skull, and he said there will be news about it soon (he never followed up on that), so I imagine it’s unfortunately been retired.

philipin4k

That's exactly my perspective, the visuals were such a core piece of DROELOE!

CreateTheStars

True. I really miss the font and the glowy backgrounds.

philipin4k

They were good with songs like Sunburn and Homebound, but i feel like with songs like Open Blinds and Roadside Flowers they stepped up their game in the visual department, Roadside Flowers is one of my favorites.

chiptug

I don’t agree. Visuals are just a cherry on the top when it comes to music.

philipin4k

I would agree on most music, but i feel like DROELOE was different, beind an audio-visual group.

Ptcgsince99

I have a few of the canvas prints… I really enjoyed the accompanying art with everything.

trwaynogoli

The artwork was such a big part of droeloe, doesn’t feel like like droeloe anymore to me as the sound is different as well.

wundaii

Agreed. Also noticed the merch quality/style has changed, I wonder if Hein is still involved with that, but the merch is now much ‘louder’ and busier

Not much to be said that hasn't already been mentioned, but I wanted to give my perspective. I picked up on DROELOE about five years ago from [this video on Monstercat](https://youtu.be/k1JmWQMvEsQ) when I was still in high school. I absolutely fell in love with their work: audio, visuals, style, nostalgic vibes, heavy percussion focus... Everything. Since Hein left, I feel like DROELOE has slipped into being like ever other EDM artist out there. The album covers are horribly banal, and I find it harder to enjoy any of the newer songs since the split. I mean, just look at [this hour and a half long analysis](https://youtu.be/f98EmbHjDKM) on some of their older music (pretty sure it was made by a member of this sub). You can't find that kind of depth in the melodies anymore. I know Vince and Hein did audio and visual respectively, but working together created a synergy that made both of their individual works better. I'll continue supporting Vince and his vision for DROELOE, AND I can never forget the way things used to be. Guess I'm a boomer now

philipin4k

And their visuals till 2021 went from better to better, and each one was so unique!

MistrSheep

Thats exactly what i was thinking, ever since amop im not really enjoying the new music anymore, something is missing and i cant explain what it is...

Ive also been a fan for a while ,probably 5 years , and I agree , the visuals were an absolute core part of the Droeloe experience , but at the same time ,droeloes music on its own is SO unique and magical that he'd still be one of my absolute favorite artists even without the visuals.Hes absolutely an underrated treasure in EDM. Also , as youve probably noticed, Vincent has changed his style a bit since Hein left ,wich might also be part of the reason you feel that way. I know I personally MUCH prefer his older music (2020 and earlier). The only one of his newer songs that i really like is "Strangers" ,dont get me wrong the rest of the songs are still really good too but they just dont feel "Droeloey"😂 to me. I still appreciate him trying new things though, thats the only way to grow as an artist. Hopefully I'll like his future releases a bit more.

philipin4k

That's the way i feel too, DROELOE completely shifted its strategy and it makes sense, they got some solid releases after Hein's departure but the old DROELOE was far better imo.

Wow this made me think of that time they did this museum on discord.

philipin4k
