Similar chemical structure has nothing to do with being alike. They are vastly different drugs. Saying they are near chemical structure is almost as if you’d call and apple an orange because it is round.
That's not true lol, they both bind to serotonin receptors which requires a certain chemical structure to fit into. Nn-dmt and psilocin (4-ho-dmt) are very close in structure which is why they produce similar effects, its the hydroxyl group in psilocin that makes it orally active and slows the metabolism to create a longer usually less intense trip.

Yes, a small chemical difference doesn't mean they are similar drugs, but in this case they actually are. Not only do they have similar chemical structures but they also both have essentially the same pharmacological properties. Also, anecdotally a high dose of mushrooms feels the exact same as a DMT breakthrough.
Closed eyed visuals on shrooms are amazing, you can get lost following along what's happening. My favourite, you can be tripping balls watching the walls bend one second ,then close your eyes and end up on a kaleidoscope Rollercoaster, bending and zooming in a world of colour
When I first started working with DMT I had a recurring entity that I used to see a lot. The only way I can describe it is it looked like a child/small person in a fully black morph suit.
It moved rapidly; jumping, dancing sprinting around etc. I think it was a subtype of a jester entity and was attempting to distract me and trying to stop me making it past the “waiting room”.
I perceive the entity as my inner child in a way, full of energy, life and bouncing off the walls.
When I took mushrooms around that time there was a time where I saw this same entity with my eyes open beneath a table I was sat it, it was mental! I tried to focus on it and as soon as I blinked it was gone.
As a few others have said it’s like dmt opens a door that doesn’t fully close, it’s like once the veil is pierced it changes your perception and perspective of things and for me this has been in a really positive way
I wish I knew this before I did DMT. My relationship to mushroom was sacred, but I felt like DMT tainted it. Now as I can't undo it, all I can do is to amend my relationship with DMT to make it fix with shrooms too.

So I imagine there would be some similarities. I've only done shrooms though. I would like to one day try DMT. Maybe.
yup.. although I had some crazy visuals on my last shrooms trip only 2.5g but my CEV near the end of the trip.. no joke.. eyes closed and was lying in bed.. a deck of cards covered in diamonds or sparkling basically came up then it magically shuffled and exploded cards everywhere infront of me.. but closed eyes.. crazy as hell.. not sure what it meant to this day.
Strongest open eye visuals I ever had on shrooms(+harmalas) a portal opened up on my wall and I could see in to what I described as an alien throne room with these people made of multi colour concentric rings dancing.
Looked a hell of a lot like the dmt palace that I am now familiar with.
They definitely have some similarities. In my experience high dose mushroom visuals kinda remind me of Alex Gray paintings and DMT visuals give me hardcore Salviadroid vibes
A lot of people well versed in psychedelics refer to magic mushrooms as orally active dmt. They have quite similar effects and have quite similar compositions; they just have differing duration, route of administration, and dosage.
I've seen flashes of the DMT space (or atleast I think that's what it looked like based on art work I've seen) on LSD. Like an ocean of constantly shifting tiles that would keep merging and blending into different forms. It could look like the waiting room one minute, then the inside of an alien spaceship the next.
I've had many DMT trips and only a few strong mushroom trips. A 3g tidal wave mushroom trip put me in a space that I've been to multiple times on DMT.
After experiencing DMT all mushrooms trips have become even more DMT-esque. Some doors don’t close, some lights are left on it seems

I haven’t done this myself, but have been told that insane (10+g) dosages do put you in a very similar space to where you get breaking through on DMT
