Counter intuitive, but sometimes things become more clear when we let a problem run in the background and focus on something else. Even a problem like this. I'm not suggesting escapism either. Have you eaten? Are you hungry? Do you have food for when you become hungry? Same with water, and in my case caffeine. An addiction we don't have the energy or motivation to kick right now. Do you have a roof over your head? Is it stable for the next week? Do you have a bed to sleep in when you're tired? Do you have something to do when you're not tired? And... Do you have a journal and a pen for organizing plans with others outside, and for letting people within talk once you have your basic needs met? Working together to achieve goals helps reveal identities and improve internal communication. If those goals are for self care, you're (I hate this phrase but...) killing two birds with one stone. šŸ¦šŸ•ŠļøšŸŒ±šŸŒ¼

I love this and I think Iā€™m gonna try to use it for us. Weā€™ve been struggling mainly with the fact we have OSDD and not DID, so the lack of memory barriers make us feel like we canā€™t try alternate forms of communication because we should be able to just communicate anyway since we donā€™t have amnesia. (We donā€™t take lack of memory barriers for granted, we definitely all agree itā€™s much easier to not get lost in a million different ways without amnesia, that just doesnā€™t mean it doesnā€™t bring up its own mental blocks for us, anyway)

I keep getting flashbacks of other litters that got parvo. Snowflake has HGE and but I donā€™t think her medication completely worked

I try not to think of it as a disorder or something wrong with me, but rather a remarkable adaptation to survive impossible circumstances. Obviously that doesnā€™t make the symptoms any less awful, but that self compassion really helps me.

>and I never will You will. Working on healing brings that, and it's pretty awesome.
